      Can't fall asleep in time!

Hey, the past three or so nights I planned on having a WILD I couldn't fall asleep. Like I get to bed at 11:00pm and can't get to sleep until like 3:00am! Will taking melatonin affect the WILD at all or should I just wait for my sleep pattern to adjust?

Also, the excitement of the ever so amazing lucid dream can keep you up. Like a kid on Christmas Eve.

You are probably over thinking things. If you get too excited, and worry about how you're falling asleep, you will be wired all night. You have to tell yourself you are going to remember to lucid dream, then let it go and fall asleep.

You aren't trying to WILD when you first go to bed, right? You really need to do it later in the night, after a few hours of sleep.

Try a relaxation technique, like the 61 point relaxation technique. And if you do find yourself more or less wide awake in bed, might as well take advantage of it and try to do a VILD. Imagine something peaceful, like a beach, or a field. One of two things will usually happen, you'll VILD, or you'll fall asleep

Or you can try listening to some Yoga Nidra any night you can't fall asleep. This audio knocks me right out.
