No SP hallucinations. D: Please help me.

I'm new to lucid dreaming and such, so, please do help. :P Last night I was trying the WILD technique. And thought if that didn't work, I would try a DILD/MILD. When I was relaxing, my arms and legs and lower body felt like they disappeared. My chest still had feeling because my heart was pounding like crazy. My eyes were closed, and all I saw was black, when it got around 20 minutes of relaxing, there were just blotches of light... well.. more of white clouds. Very very very very faint! I don't know if those were the hallucinations... but, I never got to the vibrating and stuff in my ears. I fell asleep chanting 'A dream character will tell me to do a RC, and I will have a lucid dream'. The first dream I had I did a RC, but the dream lasted 10 seconds. I looked and counted my 4 fingers, and it ended. The next dream was obviously a dream, but I didn't do an RC and stuff.... so... just wanting advice about the hallucinations and things like that. :) Thanks!

I don't think you should be bothered about not getting any buzzing or other auditory hallucinations. When I try I get a massive variety from nothing through to large amounts of whispering voices and loud wind sounds. The lights probably were, they're pretty common it seems. I think what you're holding out for when trying to WILD is hallucinations that are short dream like imagery which mean you're on the verge of a dream -- I'm sure someone who knows will come along and confirm/un-confirm that though. :p

I think it's just your mind relaxing more. It takes me maybe 10mins before my body feels numb and is not there as you described. I think it might be a form of HI?

The white clouds you saw were deff HI. I get them too as well as lines of shapes. Don't focus on them, but rather just watch them. Last time I tried to get into SP it took 30mins before I think I hit SP, but then came out of it and couldn't get back in (unless it was just a form of HI) so just went to sleep

Maybe if you feel your heart rate go up, or you think you may be getting excited, try saying, "Relaaaaaax", slow and calm. I do it and works kind of

Oh, and the short dreams I've read is your mind dipping into your subconcious. When I'm trying to reach SP, I get little micro dreams that seem to last less than a second, but can have 1-4 of them over a course of my attempt. I tried to build on one last time I tried to get into SP and kind of worked. Brought the image back a few times

It sounds like you're on the right track, seems like you were really worked up (you mentioned your heart was pounding). Perhaps if you calmed down a little more, your WILD attempts would be more successful.

Other than that, seems like you were either in sleep paralysis or well on your way to it. Your body was numb and you were getting HI. Keep doing what you're doing!

Thanks for your help. Last night I woke up around 4 am, got up, went to the washroom etc, and went back to bed. Annnnd I had my first LD. I know I'm not supposed to get excited, but I did and woke myself up.

Everyone gets excited their first few times. I know I did. After a while, you will not feel that anymore, and you'll be able to focus on the dream

First of all, congratulation for your 1st LD

Now for the SP hallucinations : they are not absolutely required, I myself very rarely get visual hallucination in the transition of WILDs -- I don't get hypnagogic images either when falling asleep; maybe you're the same ? The only hallucination I get is my body floating / bouncing off the walls, then I enter the dream (usually in the dark and then an image forms). So, don't focus too much expecting hallucination, that could keep you too much awake... just let go. Don't "force" the white cloud in tranforming in hallucination (it would only get the opposite effect); see them but don't look at them.
      Dec. 2006 - July 2007:
      92 DILDs + 30 WILDs ; 75% too short, 24% decent, ~3 of 2 to 5 minutes
      (I stopped counting after that)

Okay. So I don't have to worry about the SP hallucinations. ^_^ Thanks for confirming that not everyone has them.
