My sort of...not really, OBE experience.

I don't know what you would call it... but anyway. It happened during a dream.

Me, my parents and I were in a car, and we were driving on this freeway. I was sitting down, and I was resting my eyes(not necessarily sleeping; just resting) then my hold body starting vibrating and then it felt like I was floating, like I could feel my butt lifting off of the seat, and then I remembered thinking "OMG! I'm doing it! " And then, I was like, "Won't my brother think it's weird that I'm floating?" So I floated back down into the seat and relaxed again. Then it felt like my arm was lifting up, but not voluntarily, then I said "NO STUPID HAND. STAY DOWN." And then I made it go back down. And then I woke up.

I researched OBE's a little before I went to sleep, so that might be the reason for the dream. I think that I knew in the dream that I was close to an OBE, but I stopped halfway. =_=

Would you call this an OBE?

Thus, an out-of-the-body experience can initially be defined as ‘an experience in which a person seems to perceive the world from a location outside his physical body
An OBE is defined as an experience. Based on your experience, if you felt that you were floating outside of your body, then sure you could call it an OBE. But some people have different definitions or criteria for OBE. So you really need to decide for yourself.

If you were aware that you were dreaming, then it would have been a lucid dream. At the end of my first LD, my body vibrated, although I didn't experience rising upwards. I think we were both on the edge of an OOBE. However, you seemed to rise up within the dream scene, rather than in the real world, so I wouldn't have said that it was a real OOBE.
