Thread: Calling All Dream Warriors (Roll Call)

Ok, guys, I think the time has come....

...The time for a symbol!

We don't have to be a CLUB or be EXCLUSIVE or anything like that, but I'm a sucker for using small signs and having ways to recognize one another. I vote we make such a signal, most simply it can be a fun way of identifying other warriors on DV, more complicated (and more fun by any measure) it can be incorporated into your fighting dreams, a banner to rally around

Any body have any designs on mind?

good ole insomnia Mr. Mzzkc, as usual, I'll throw some things together, see what people think.

Try to keep things neutral-esque.

'Cause some folk don't 'fight for the light', as it were.

Alright, here we go...



I stuck with some themes, most obviously the colors, first off.

Red = War, blood, vitality, all the good stuff we are about.
Blue = Dreams, dreaming, Astral related stuff
Black = Void, emptiness. We send our foes here, also, when empty we can reach back to the "past selves" that this thread goes on about.

1. Circle and repeating patter indicate eternity, the continuous battles we have fought, are fighting and will always fight. Sword for obvious reasons, I know not everyone uses a sword, but a sword is a tool that we actively use to control and change the world, Gold is generally connected to the meaning of purity, this may be of our intention if we want it to mean that. The eye. The eye is an indication of our lucidity, our clear understanding and purpose, we see our goals.

2. Same circle and pattern theme here. The hand print is to demonstrate the influence of the individual, the single human making the difference. The triangles (simplistic claws) I added to represent the power unique to the Dream Warriors, fitting as we may take any shape or power we so desire, speaking to great hidden depths within.

3. Same hand motif, by now I was keeping simplicity in mind, if everyone is going to adopt a symbol, it should be able to fit quietly along their existing sig and avatar. The triple staff symbol is taken from well established ancient symbols that appear in threes. Three is a power number and emphasizes protection, something we both can use, and provide.

5. This is designed after the symbol of Mars, the God of War (also recognized as the male gender symbol)

6. I think if anyone in the world has the rights to a dragon symbol, dreamers are the ones. Obviously this is a power symbol, meant to display everything within us that is ferocious, strong, skilled, and indomitable.

7. Another eye and sword motif. Here, as in the first, the sword is conquering the eye forcibly, presenting the idea that we control and direct our lucidity, our power, and bring our desires into fruition by fierce intent.

Obviously these are all VERY rough and are meant only to display some ideas for what elements we might want in a symbol...again...this is if only if anybody is remotely interested in the first place.

Vote for the fourth one, we have to keep it as simple as possible to allow for the wide range of people. ^^

I actually had a dream recently about a symbol. I didn't know what it was about, but now I come here and see you're discussing symbols, so maybe I should mention it. I have no time to make a drawing, but I found this on the web, which is somewhat similar so it can help you visualize it.

Now, instead of one tree, there were 2 trees equally distant from each other, with branches ramifying like fractals and interlacing in the middle. The branches did not look organic like on this logo, they were straight and geometric, so they could had several meanings. In fact they weren't really trees, although they also could be trees. It had to do with paths and choices, about multiverses, about strength, interconnection, peace and consciousness. In the dream it made total sense, but I confess it is now impossible for me to explain what I saw and felt. And it was simply black and white.
It has no swords, no dragons and no blood, but I hope you still can give a thought to it and maybe RebelSeven could try to sketch it? That would be awesome

Here are more simplistic ideas, after Max's input



I've added the meaning of the crescent moon (dreaming and our hidden internal selves) And the Spiral (the journey inward and the skills that we manifest internally) the cross hairs (our intent and tenacity). Number 15 is the human form and the circle can represent the moon, eternity, protection, and here, also the aura we emanate.

Please keep in mind all of these can be re-worked to be more stylistic, smaller, prettier, darker, thinner and in any color. This is interactive! I'm not delegating!

Also, it's interesting it's actually two tri-edge stars overlapping in an interesting way.
A bit more sharpness on the edges and more definition of the circle the empty areas make should make it perfect.

Although, it's my opinion so you should probably wait until you get more input.

Also, I've noticed a few of your symbols seem to categorize dream warriors as 'good', for example, the gold color in the sword.

Some of us don't fit in that category. We're warriors, not soldiers.
I think the symbol should reflect that, but not such as to portray dream warriors as heroic, job-loving soldiers with a sense of patriotism. (The kind that get badges and have their faces on TV memorials)

EDIT: So yeah, personally, I'm liking the elements of power and self-reflection. Protection? Well, if the will to protect is a requirement to be a dream warrior, then yes, it should be in the symbol, although it would clearly strike me off from the list. ^_^

The sword was not a sign of a patriotic soldier but of someone with the power to shape their world (we all know anybody can wield one). The gold color is supposed to mean purity, but really I only used it because it looked good The "protection" theme is focused on the individual, the warrior, not that they protect other people, so I think it can work for the neutral aspect too.

And yeah, I'm waiting for more ideas, hopefully some other people will come up with their own symbols too

Yes, totally something like that! Only small corrections: all branches should be pointing up / forward; there should be no branches on the lower half of the "tree trunks"; and the "tress" should be simetrical. But you got it!

Wow, also looks beautiful, but doesn't look so much like the one in my dream, because it has a very organic shape. It evokes trees and the brain with its neuronal network, but somehow I don't get the same feeling I get from the other geometric version.

About the other designs, somehow I don't feel comfortable with the "eye" ones as they remind me of the big brother shadowy elite. The one with the sword trespassing the eye makes more sense to me, because of the symbolism: we're not the eye, we're the ones who fight the eye. But the logo itself is not very appealing, so I would grab the idea and work it some other way (not sure yet how).

I really like the idea so I thought decided to contribute . I think the symbol of chaos is eight spikes so no, but it could mean that if thats how we interpret it.
Id like to help some more anything else I can do ???

Maybe we should make a new thread with this idea because of the very low visibility. Do you or any one else have any more designs they would like to add?

I am a dream warrior!!! My hand to hand is the only weapon ive ever needed. Whats a bullet gonna do? lolzzz...love dream kung fu, i musta been a maestro in a past life.

Frapo, I like the idea, we all have to fight things at certain times, mostly our own fears. I do wonder though Frapo, what would you call Evil? Also, perhaps some dream warriors prefer battling in other galaxies? jk..sorta. Haven't visited a large number of foreign worlds myself, those are mighty overwhelming experiences.
I wonder about another thing, and its a bit off topic but its from the same stem idea. Dream exploring? Then our dream warriors could go to the explored areas to battle evil. I would like a pirate ship. Thats just me.
