Do not allow yourself to feel fear, or terror or any of these emotion types. They will indefinitely and instantaneously inhibit anything you are trying to do. To go out of body, you have to use your imagination. All you have to do is will yourself out of your body. |

I used to get this commonly. It takes high power will and indurance to drag yourself into a lucid dream through this, but I've experienced some pretty intense stuff doing it. Drag urself out of bed and try to stabilize, chances are you are already in a dream. To exit SP wiggle your toes and fingers, stay relaxed and focused. |

Here is my method for transitioning from SP into a dream: |

Thanks for all your advice! I'll try to remember this next time I get stuck in SP |

They call me LucidCharlie
Hi chaps...i get SP quite alot, most nights actually and i also used to get that thing where i felt a most terrible fear then i would feel an "evil presence" i could never see this thing but knew it was there, it would grab me by the feet or ankles and drag me about the bed, sometimes dragging me off the bed and i would land with a massive "thud"! i have had terrifying experiences but have now learnt to controll it so that it doesn't get to that stage..as soon as i hear the "swooshing" noise and feel that throbbing of my head at the same time i think ..ok keep calm nothing can hurt me, im safe and i look for a dream to begin instead, it usually looks like tunnel vision but its all black, then i begin to see a dream in the distance start to manifest, if i feel it dissapearing i think of something and that brings a dream scene back, i stay focussed and slow my breathing down as it can get rather fast if i let the fear controll me instead of the other way around! sometimes if it doesn't work and i dont get into a lucid dream i will just wake up, otherwise i go lucid and love it the trick is just to stay calm and focussed on your intent to go into a LD, if you fear it then it will make any hallucination worse which you will fear more allowing the hallucination to get worse, like a circle of fear...you fear and it gets worse which makes you fear more which then makes it even more worse..i always think about my nan and grandad who have both passed away when this happens and it really helps to imagine them close to you, also if you do get to the point where you feared and the thing is getting you etc, face it and ask "what do you want" also send out love to it, you may be suprised..hope i was of some help |

To get out of sp often i can't do anything but eventually I'll manage to wiggle my toes. often after I'll keep slipping into sp and it will scare me being paralized and not being able to enter a dream. I think the best thing to do is just relax and flow with it. I personally trip in being in sleep paralysis. soooo your really have to be comfortable with being paralysized. I am normally really uncomfortable with that unless its only very short before I enter a dream or exit onto the astral plane. |
