I notice a lot of people are posting about the astral plane. I'd like to share some thoughts and experiences about this fascinating plane from my personal perspective.

I got into astral projection and remote viewing way before lucid dreaming when I was in my early 20's. (Got into lucid dreaming in my early thirty's, now am 38.) I did not have much success with AP though I practiced it about 20 hours a week for a year.

I had some bizarre spiritual experiences which left me confused. This was back in the late 90's. There were no internet forum groups to tell me I was sane. I chalked it all up to "demons" and went hardcore Christian for a few years, being afraid of the demons.

In my late 20's, I began a period of spiritual exploration. I started practicing AP again, this time with more success.

(I recommend the book, Astral Projection for Beginners.)

Here is a fascinating experience I had:

I was in my ex mother-in-law's house in Maine. I went OBE, and walked right through two doors and went outside to the front yard. The house and yard looked completely normal except there were this interesting bas-relief metal sculptures of bronze, brass, and copper in the yard. One really stood out which was a picture of a whale upsetting a whaling ship, and the whalers being tossed overboard in a kind of cartoony non-objective abstract. I drew a picture of the sculpture.

The next day my ex-wife and I went to the tourist part of the town and wandered into a little tourist trap. On the wall was an original work of art, a dyed cloth image depicting the exact image I drew! My mind was blown. I wanted to buy it, but it was $400, so I didn't. I lost the drawing that day for some reason. That was annoying!

Anyway, I thought I was supposed to learn some significant spiritual lesson from that, but I didn't. What I did take away was a belief in precognitive AP experiences, and a hypothesis about how it works. I think maybe that time and distance are somehow folded or overlapped weaving through layers of Planes of Existence.

I also had some really cool astral experiences walking through doors in my own house. haha.

Thanks for reading.
