Help in staying awake through the entire process.

I need help in staying awake through the whole process. For the pass 2 weeks while attempting I notice I keep falling unconscious. No matter how hard I try while in the process as my body begins to shut down I can not stay awake. It goes very quickly, I get relax within 7 mins my physical body feels like it's filled with vibrations or moving away. But then I instanly lose consciousness. I'm surprise that every time I attempt this no matter how much I say it with in my mind that I will not fall asleep when doing this 10 mins go by and I'm gone. Then I wake up and realize hours have gone by. It feels like something shuts me off and then places me back on without noticing or feeling anything. Any advice in ways to help keep the mind alert in this process?

What are you thinking about just before you fall off to sleep? Try counting sequences or setting your intent when the vibration starts.

Not much, I think about the colorful dots and lines when I have my eyes closed then when the hypnagogic imagery starts happening I think a little about what it looks like. That's mostly it, just surprises me how I can't stay awake through the process anymore. My problem use to be that I could never get relax enough to continue through it but now it seems it's quite opposite. Prehaps setting intent is the right idea because usually my 1st intent is to become relax and to hardly feel my physical body. Though I never got the chance to focus my intent on getting out. Thanks I'll try that next time.

Sorry for the delay. I fall asleep often during that hypnogogic stage too. I always sleep really good when ever that happens though. I try to ask that I be shown or led where I am needed and sometimes that will trigger an experience, but its always hard to remember details the next morning.

It's no problem, you were right setting a different intent help. I manage to last 20 mins this time before being knock out by it. I could feel myself floating up as I hardly felt my physical body. But the process was interrupted as I started feeling my breathing becoming difficult again which alerted my body that I was awake still. That's when it all ended and before I knew it 2 mins go by and I have once again fallen asleep.

I see what you mean, I feel as if hypnogogic imagery is a short cut in a OBE exprience. Yesterday when I attempt it I was shown an image of outer space with two planets moving together as if they were about to collide. I manage to observe the image as it lasted 3 seconds before disappearing. Is there a way to sort of jump in the landscape of the image and would that complete the OBE process or would it be consider a WILD?

I put myself in a white light or sometimes other color light when the hypnogogia starts. I think that is where I change focus. After you get to where you can get a strong white light you should be able to have some pretty awesome experiences and stay awake. Its a fine balance between relaxation, visual imagery and intent and knowing when not to push too hard. Good luck and let me know if that helps.

Once again it help out great, I really thought this time I was out of my body because I didn't feel any loss of consciousness when I had my lucid dream today. When I woke up from a 5 hour sleep I attempt an OBE and after 2 mins pass I was knock out and found myself standing up in my Father room instead of lying down on the bed. However I almost thought it was an OBE but soon while in the dream I realize that I had did a WILD. But I must say still was a good exprience. Thank you for the advice.

Cool. Glad your getting some progress.
I was curious what you thought the two planets were and how long did the image last. I often get images of entire galaxies before a single earthly image forms.

Yea it was strange how long it last and how clear it look to me. Usually the images don't last long, mostly only 1 second but the two planet ones gave me a chance to fully view the entire image. Another thing I find odd about it is that it was in motion, I never had a imagery that was in motion before. To me it look like saturn and jupitar colliding. When viewing the entire galaxies does this sort of help you become lucid in the start of your dreams?

Ummm, I dont consider what I experience a lucid dream. I can wild pretty easy from just seeding a dream scenario. AT is very different. When it happens, you will know because it is almost indescribable. It's a very deep and moving experience. Not at all like a lucid dream.

I've never heard of an AT before also could you give me advice on how you easily induce a WILD by just thinking of the dream scenario you want? It would be just like thinking and being inside the thought right then and there. What's AT?

AT is traveling after an AP. At least that is how it feels to me.
I think there is a tutorial on this site fort dream seeding. I'm kind of a natural lucid dreamer so kit would be hard for me to give you a step by step explanation. For me, I just imagine a place I want to dream about and make up detaills as I go then when I transition into sleep, sometimes the scene just continues and I'm lucid.

Have you tried waking up naturally or by alarm and going back to sleep, yet? (WBTB) It helps if you stay awake for a little bit and maybe eat some sugar. My succeses have been when eating a snack during WBTB

Yes I have awaken naturally but I usually don't stay up long afterward or eat sugar right after. But it seems interesting to try, I'll do that next time.
