      Exclamation Delusional or true?

      Is it possible to go into a lucid dream talk to your subconscious and then have your waking/conciouse behaviour change?

      I hate my personality but i have convinced my self that i can change my personality this way, i went so far as to write up a new personality with personality scripts (list of behaviours) new reactions for example now when i'm anxious i usually watch tv but i wrote that my new personality would organise or work to past the time.

      I haven't managed to have a lucid dream in a long time so i have had this (potential) delusion for a long time. i dedicated a lot of time to it hoping that when i eventually do achieve lucidity that i will talk to my subconscious, reference the elaborate personality i wrote down then wake up with the personality driving my behaviour. is this possible or am i wasting my time?? thx

      Maybe you should rather try a do it yourself CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). There's a Dummy book for it, which I found to be very clever and probably very useful - if I weren't too lazy to work on myself, it's diy:

      Another idea is to try hypnosis - these should be methods, which promise better and faster results, since you are not a proficient LDer already, to use that as primary means. Which could work, I think, but I wouldn't start there in your situation.

      What ever works for you, go for it. Just realize that there are consequences to your actions and you need to be prepared to take responsibility for what comes afterward. I think you could benefit from meditation and more lucid dreaming. Perhaps you should strive to change the way in which you normally think. This is how Albert Einstein changed our understanding of modern science. Try viewing things from such a strange and twisted perspective that you can't recognize which angle you're even viewing things from. Give it a try. It can be very difficult, but you must be open. Once you do that, you will be flooded with all sorts of insights and realize so much knowledge is right there in your face you could never even believe it. It will change you for the better, and you will love who you become.

      If you hate your personality, maybe you need to concentrate on other things, for example if you're shy, the problem is solved (maybe for short intervals) if you concentrate on the subject at task and stop concentrating on your fears. Being angry and hating yourself are two different things though, angry could mean your fed up with an attitude of yours, but hating involves sending ill intentions towards yourself, hate will not let you advance, hate will boicot your intentions in doing something for yourself. You have to accept who you are, which isn't equal to confomism. Knowing that all the things you have thought and done is what shaped your personality, will make you understand that you can change yourself. Try to read things you posted on forums several years ago, it may give you insight that there actually have been changes in your personality and it will give you more hopes in changing from now on.

      If you can't change you have to realize that you don't want to change, the question is why. Look into things that happened to you, the things that you thought.
