Seeing White Flashing lights during intense moments in life

Very rarely, on extremely specific occasions which deal directly with spirituality I've seen white flashing lights on the very peripheral of my vision. It is very strange because this happens during moments of extreme emotional connection to the spiritual, and almost feels like some sort of mystical Morse code. Sometimes it would happen almost as a reply to emotional emissions, while other times it would happen continuously almost like some sort of intense wake up call. Like I've already emphasized this is not a medical symptom, and has only occurred to me during mystical experiences and on very diverse occasions/scenarios. The most apparent have happened during these three events (among many other less significantly notable events): going to sleep with crystals beside bed for the first time(cleansed with water), one time on a psychedelic (which begins with L and endS with D ) and another time during a deep emotional epiphany about life. I have not been involved in any negative practice or occult, but other than Reiki, which I wouldn't consider occult. Another notable time this has happened in a very interesting way was when I attempted using Reiki (after being initiated at a young age to the first level) by placing my hands together and putting my forehead between the two thumbs and pointer fingers in an "L" shape. After holding it there, i began to feel a slight fluttering of my eyelids, which was uncontrollable and progressively intensified until i began to see a white flash intermediately between every flutter. (This happened while it was pitch black in my room so the fluttering did not cause the white flashes.) After the fluttering became faster than it could be visually noticed I started to see a "movie" playing from a "different" perspective which was about 2 feet higher than my eyes. This movie would continue with every frame being a white flash (or eyelid flutter) and it got really HD and showed something kind of describable. I saw what looked to me like the moons surface (or some planet) and an array of chrome skinned beads aligned in a pattern. This is when I stopped it, but to describe it visually it looked similar to this picture: Anyways, knowing that this rapid flashing translated into some sort of extra-perceptual movie that was from the perspective of two feet above my normal line of sight, into a completely different plane hints at something a lot deeper than a "medical symptom". So, I was wondering what people thought of these white flashes, have they happened to you during profound insights or emotional periods? I've read a response saying: "that's your soul" to a thread that parallels the inquiry of this one, but that isn't even close to descriptive enough to actually explain what it means. Why would your soul just flash in-comprehensible lights in your vision? What could this mean? Does anybody have any idea? If you scroll up and down to catch the abruptness of the shifts of the page scrolling while looking at the picture you will see the kind of transition I was explaining between every frame.
