I have often wondered, in Yu Yu Hakusho...why is it that people are afraid of a 14 year old?

Maybe because they haven't thought about that? They have to be careful cause skin can absorb water. >.> *shrugs*
Another thing, water can evaporate. So concentrating on something which particles are slowly disappearing might be hard to do :S.

Btw, I have never heard of psionics. Though, I have done practices similar to the tutorial when I was about four years old. This "psi" stuff, I just call it energy. I learned from my father. He knows a lot about energy/chi and a martial arts, tiechi(I believe that's how you spell it :S). I learned reiki a few years ago from my mother who is a massage therapist. I do believe everything does have some kind of connection with energy, that our body has energy inside us. So, why not be able to use that energy we have inside of us for other things? I know how stupid this sounds, but I can feel people's emotions. It started two years ago for me. I can't describe the emotions I get from people, but I do feel them. When someone is angry, I feel, and may react to it. My mother was getting suicidal last year, and I felt the same. I wasn't myself at all. Even if it wasn't directed at me, I'll get the feeling and become that emotion. These feelings will not be mine at all, and I can tell the difference from my own. I don't call it a curse though, because I have used this to help my friends out/I have used it to warn friends about certain people, and I'm getting a better control at it. I do remember I had something similar when I was little. I have a lot of memories of things happening to me. I know how silly it sounds and I do know that people are probably laughing right now at me. You guys can say whatever you want to say.

I'm going to try this guy's tutorial out, and see what happens. If I get results within a few weeks, I might post them. ^^!

It's only as difficult as you think it is, or as your subconcious thinks ^^. I agree that it is difficult to make your subcon believe that it doesn't matter.

I'd say you just have to do it right, if you create a bowl of energy around the sand or water, you could be able to transport all that. I have to admit I've never actually performed TK successfully - have to get into training again - but I would try it that way

Are psionic abilities lost as you grow loder (that is if you're born with them etc.)

I don't know if you can classify this as psionic but when I was younger, about seven, in primary school (what Americans would probably call elementary school), I had no friends. Anyway, one day I was humming to myself and whenever I increased the pitch the wind responded and increased in strength. I began wondering how this happened and eventually managed to get it blowing if I concentrated on it.
However when I went into Highschool and made some friends I lost this ...thing.

Can anyone explain this?

I used to have something similar as a kid. Its gone now, but before I would do things like that. Like I remember taking out a wind-mill toy, and I'd do this when the wind was calm. I'd set it down and concentrate. I was able to get it to move, by using the wind or was it energy from the wind?? I also remember my school had this Jewish top game. My friend and I were together playing it. During the time we used to play imaginary games as kids. Like magic and stuff. So having a hand hover over wouldn't look weird to us. Well, anyway, in the game certain pictures of the top were good or bad. There was one that was lucky. So, I was doing the hover hand thing and kept getting it every single time, 100%. My friend would joke around saying stop cheating. So, I stop hovering my hands and would just look at it, and I still got it. But as the years went on my friends and I would argue about imaginary games, and I just stopped doing these things. I was told during the time that this stuff was evil/demonic, and people were thinking I was weird. So, I stopped doing it.

People can be really close minded. If I were you I'd start doing those things again. If you just keep it secret, there shouldn't be a problem I guess
