      ever died in a dream...?

      i once had a dream...

i was on a bus full of passengers. we were heading down an isolated road in the middle of an unkown dessert. i was aware that i was dreaming, but i was not aware of the identities of anyone aboard the bus, nor the destination we were heading. i peeked out the window momentarily and spotted a plane of sorts flying in our direction. as it passed overhead, i watched a missle (apparently released by the pilot of the plane) soar into the side of our bus. immediately smoke and debris filled the cab as i went blind and numb simultaneously. i heard everything but saw and felt nothing (quite horrifying, to say the very least). immediately following, i heard silence. i still could not see anything, and was sure i had not survived...yet nothing further happened. i remained in total darkened silence for what seemed like an eternity, until i felt a sensation (what i would consider my spirit leaving my body) that allowed me to float out of my current situation, landing me in my bed awake, wondering if i had really died.

anyone experience anything of the sorts?

Yep I've died so many times, lost count a nuke or 2 ago heh. I've been shot in the head, eatin "alive" by sharks, lions, bears, raptors, T-Rex's, mass zombies. Been in nucleur blasts and just big explosions. I've fallin in pits of lava and I'm sure im missing quite a few here.
I've also been shot elsewhere, stabbed, fallin from skyscrapers / cliffs and definatly hit the ground. Things that don't get rid of my body in the dream rarely kill me completly. Even been shot in the head "was shot in the mouth once and it chipped a tooth which continued to hurt the entire dream" and still didn't really " Die ". Just kept on truckin. The things that really hurt but don't kill me usually just end up in me having a LD.

Yeah, I've died a couple of times:

Once I drowned and once I suffered a concussion after getting in a car accident. In both cases I felt life slipping away until eventually everything went dark. It was on odd feeling -- I was still aware, and I knew that I was dead, but there was nothing. I couldn't move, I couldn't see, or anything. Just lots of blackness. It was creepy and relaxing at the same time. I woke up shortly after in both instances, but there are some striking similarities there with what you wrote. Very interesting.

In most the cases where I've actually died I usually switch to third person view. Like when I was being eatin. I get attacked, they manage a few bites then I watch myself get eatin. Usually the pain is to great to stay in 1st person and thats why I switch, even though at that moment my body is still alive. Atleast I'm assuming why the change of views. Perhaps this is what would happen in real life too.

In some cases such as a couple of nukes, I actually felt my body vaporizing. It went by fast and yet it seemed to last 15 or so seconds at the same time. Then I usually wake up in a deep sweat.

Yes, I have died in a dream. Here's how it went. I died being run over by a car, and ended up as a slave in the spirit world. I was working at a factory and there was this giant queen ant. Everyone was tied up in chains carrying packages etc. I found a backdoor of the factory and escaped back to the real world. I found my friend and told him my story, and turned out he had been a slave there too and was freed. He also told me the queen ant may come after me, and that we must go hide somewhere. Though, the moment we were making that plan, she's right at the door, and then I wake up.

All the time. For instance, last week I had a dream where I was trying to break into a church (that's something we all want to do) and a group of planes fly overhead. They drop scatterbombs (think the jerico from iron man) I turn to run, but am frozen ( maybe holy power from the church) then my whole line of sight is blocked by dust and fire and then everything turns black.

I've never been killed in a dream, but I was tortured while strapped to a table once. It really sucked 'cause it was lucid and everything.

There was a guy who said he was going to shoot himself in the head during a dream. He also said was going to report the results of what happen.

But nobody never heard from him though.

But yea I have died a few times in a dream. I always become a ghost when that happens.

Yeah I've died a few times in dreams. Usually its by gunshot or being stabbed, sometimes it hurts and sometimes i dont feel a thing. Most of the time the dream just ends and a new one starts, or the dream continues on like nothing happened, or i wake up.

a lot of dreamers have died in their dream. especially those of us who play video games and are used to having multiple lives.

but hows this one? all the dream characters trying to convince you you're not dreaming, but in fact, YOU'VE DIED, LIKE FOR REAL. yeah. that was a real head trip. They told me I would be trapped in limbo if I didn't find a guide to the after life quickly. My logical conclusion was to draw an octopus to prove that I wasn't dead.

i died in the first dream i remembered. i think i was 6 or 7 years old. i was shot by robots. i don't remember if i was aware that i was dreaming, but i remembered it because my death in the dream was the end of it.

I've died in a dream, but nothing so vivid. I was in my childhood kitchen, having some sort of argument with my deseased father. Apparently we both got rather upset, and he threw a punch at my face. Just before the punch landed, my experience of the kitchen changed to a view of, what looked like character stat sheets for me and my father. I knew we were still fighting, and could hear everything, but all I could see were the stat sheets. We each had a health and fatigue bar. I could see I was getting my ass kicked and thought to myself, "I just need to land a couple of good hits!" when suddenly, my dad's last punch landed and saw both my health and fatigue bars drop to zero. I knew I was dead, but then I woke up.

yep, i've died in dreams, on ground zero when a bomb hits, gassed in a gas chamber, the dream ends when the blackness starts, don't ever get any after life/ghost/spirit experiences.

      gotta question for you though...........

do any of these death dreams seem like memories, as in could they have been the way you died in a past life for example?

or are they particularly spiritual experiences, like a shamanic death dream, initiating you into a re-birthing of yourself

in my dreaming, i have very distinctive categories for my dreams, some are just rambling nonsensicle narratives, some are informative, some are prophetic, some i know are trying to teach me some really important spiritual lesson, some are about meeting a dream guide/spirit ally/ancestor

so i'm wondering what kind of experience/importance/distinction people are having regarding their death dreams.

dreaming of your own death is renowned in tribal shamanic societies as being a sign of the shaman, it is the initiation given by the spirit world of relinquishing and releasing aspects of self that do not serve the awakening of higher consciousness, and re-birthing the new shamanic apprentice into a greater understanding of self and purpose, to be the link and communicator between the world of spirit and the world of people.

I lost count of my dream deaths years ago. I have been eaten, burned, stabbed, heart attack, cancer, mauled. Several of these were suicides when I was young and thought it was the only way to wake up without waiting the dream out. And the void is beautiful when you go there. The only place you can be nothing and everything at the same time. I have only managed to go there once when I was sick of the current dream and decided to disbelieve myself out of existence. I only glimpsed it a few seconds, but that was enough.

Yes and no, but more so no than yes.

I was in a group of 4 people in a house (I'm assuming it was haunted or something). I was in a different body than my own, and I was killed along with one other person by a vampire child. The other two people had run out of the house. As soon as I died, "I" came out of "my" body, and instantly went into one of the two guys' body and that became "my" body.

      Uh...o.o...does this make sense??

death is part of dream life...

Like others here, I've died many times during dreams, in many different ways. Of course, it's not "my" death. Rather, it's that of the dream self, the person who I "port" to, whose experience I thus share - see-through eyes.

Falling, airplane crashes, nukes, earthquakes, floods, spies with hidden needles. From other posts, seems like anyone who dreams a lot, covering a large range of situations, will die a lot. My practice is just to relax. I mean really relax, into the death. No struggle. No fear. Just waiting. Recently I've found that, by doing this, I can find myself going on, continuing beyond the crisis. Life offers many opportunities to prepare for death. Dreams do, as well.

When I was really little, probably about eight, I remember dreaming that I got hurt, died, and went to heaven. I became an angel and met Jesus and everything, but I mostly remember feeling really sad because I missed my family.

I've died once. Dinosaurs with purple skin and one horn came into my room. (Possibly related to Barney?) I hid but they found me, and then one of them shot its horn at me like a harpoon. Everything turned a deep red, I fell over, and then it faded into blackness... It was quite strange.

I was shot in the head once at point blank range.i fell backwards and i could see nothing but i was still aware..i felt the life fall out of me starting with my toe and finger tips and slowly it all drew to the center of my body which i guess must be my soul..i felt like i was looking out from the inside of myself...kind of like when you are at the bottom of a deep pool and you look up and you can see the surface...kind of like that..it was such a strange feeling and i remember being sad that i didnt get to do alot i had wanted to..i then found myself in nothing but white..all there was was a cottage and nothing else..there were a few other people there sitting on benches..then i woke up sweating not cool but interesting never the less and strangest thing was is when i was shot..there was no pain..it kind of seemed very peaceful suprisingly

I had a dream where I was viewing my dead body on the road outside my house.

My sister and mother came out and were crying.

I was looking on from the side of the road, it was really weird. I was really really young at the time.
