I'm not a troll. I just think it's incredibly convinient that when asked to answer questions, you decided you have had enough of the discussion. Maybe you see that as trolling, i see that as stating a fact.

I said that you only wanted to turn the board over, and you responded by trying to turn the board over. And you actually thought you one-upped me by doing it, didn't you?

Arne, I've given you plenty of chances to at least attempt to be productive. You do nothing but goad the type of behavior you've been crying "foul" about and ignore those who actually present points to counter your "argument."

It's clear to me that you have absolutely no intent on contributing to discussion around here, and you wish only to pull strings to get people to complete your 'tasks.' I've given you the benefit of doubt, since the beginning, and don't believe I've gotten anything from you in return, aside from your ignoring any particular point others (including myself) have made to you - an obvious attempt to dictate how conversation on such matters will go. I've asked for cooperation on your part and have gotten absolutely none, which leads me to believe that you have been trolling DV since day one of your arrival.

You show up, pick a fight, ignore any logical opposition, and play games with those who are even the least bit interested. I don't think, with your current attitude, you're a very welcome addition to this community, so you'll be the first to fall victim to my newest .gif:



As of now, it will be for 30 days. If you come back with a different approach than you have in the past, all will be well. Next ban will be permanent (so I would advise that you check your "tasks," and their context at the door).

My decision was made after you completely ignored the previous posts and said "That's enough public discussion of this," as if you were running the show, with a complete disregard for everything that's been said.

Whatever happened after that really doesn't matter to me.

I just am not going to play into your ego trip.
I think you just enjoy the attention.

Your expect complete strangers to perform some random silly behaviour in thier dreams. Without any kind of explanation, logic or even the manners to answer thier questions.

So your task can be summed up this way... keep pestering dream characters.

Looks like the jig is up, Arne. For over two years you have been posting threads trying to get members to perform futile tasks and PMing new members with the same objective. You have also been claiming for over two years that only 3-4&#37; of people who say they have LDs are actually having them and that you are somehow able to know who is lying and who is not. Furthermore, you claim that anyone who says they have a LD every night is fibbing yet when I asked you at post #104 why it isn't possible to have a LD every night you simply ignored the question.

So even after two years, all of your claims remain completely unsubstantiated. What a waste of eveyone's time this has been.

Hey guess what everybody? If you PM me the colour of your underpants I will know whether or not you are telling me the truth! But I won't tell you how I know, or even whether you are telling the truth...

Now hopefully things here will be tranquil again. I still find it unbelievable that he didn't answer any of the questions.
Though I stopped posting in the thread, I did follow its progress and at times was so infuriated that I had to restrain myself from saying anything lest it be considered trolling.

But you see, that's the thing; People don't ignore threads like these. Which is why, in the worst-case scenario, Staff has to intervene. It's a fact of internet life which I wish we could control.

But there are those that have the self restraint, bless them. It's makes our job a little easier.

It doesn't take a person with half an intelligence to work this out where Arne was going with this. If he posted all the information on what you were going to see and what the experience of the task is like, it would ruin the task. Your mind would go into your dream with an already planned out way of how the dream is going to run. By doing that your mind would make up the results based an what you have read about it. You would not have found out anything except that your mind can remember a small about of information that you have read from the internet and implement it into your dreams.

The task was put here so that you could find out the results by yourself, was that to hard for you all to do?

Instead of complaining that you didn't believe it and wanted to hear what you are meant to see, you could have simply tried it yourselves. You all claim that you are able to lucid dream.

I think that a ban was not the right thing to do in this situation.

It was not his moving it to pm which got him his ban. It was the fact that he only responded to what he felt like responding to, after having a history of making inflammatory remarks to other members. It was because I tried to be fair with him, despite being personally insulted by him, on another issue, and ask for a little cooperation and communication from him - and, in response, he completely ignores anything I've asked to try to further the discussion along, if it (IMHO) presents him with a point that he can't counter.

This is basically all he does, here at DV. He pops up every now and then, makes a controversial thread, insulting (either directly what appears to be indirectly) other members and trying to get people to perform for him, either by joining his group, doing his tasks or both. He's had trouble with the previous owners of this site, and he continues the same routine, without the slightest implication that he will do anything but show up, start an inflammatory thread, recruite and then disappear for a little while.

Hard feelings or not, I tried to be fair with him and talk him out of his attitude, even in the face of adversity from others (whom I did speak to as well, just like I spoke to Arne, the first time we met - that is, without authoritative action). And - at the very least - I don't like being ignored when I'm being gracious to someone has been acting the way he's acted.



Even in the end, I didn't perma-ban him. I banned him for 30 days. Hell, it's been longer than that, since the last time he came around, I believe. He just shows up every now and then, says something that will hook people into trying his tasks and then disappears for a while. I'm sure he'll be fine. And if he comes back without the self-righteous attitude, he can talk about whatever he wants to talk about.

Oh, and I saw the post before his. I just didn't get it at the time, so I felt no need to respond to it.

Oh he deserved the ban all right. All he ever does is come on here and cause conflict. And like Oneironaut said, he never answers simple questions. He couldn't even explain why we should stay away from trees, which he stressed so strongly before. I've interacted with many trees in Lucids, and have yet to have any problems with them what so ever.

I'm 37, and have been Lucid Dreaming for a large portion of my life as well.
And at least in my experience, everything arne has ever claimed about Lucid Dreaming is untrue.

People often seem to forget that belief, emotion, and expectation, are the most powerful factors in determining what you experience in dreams. And arne obviously has some strong beliefs about what to expect in his dreams. Therefore, creating that kind of experience.

I think the main reason members post in this type of thread is that they feel morally obligated towards their fellow lucid dreamers to expose someone who is merely trying to procure subjects for his own experiments which generally ends up wasting said subjects' time and energy.

Anyway...... it's probably time to let this thread die a natural death now as it's not nice to talk about someone when they are unable to defend themselves. I hope our friend benefits from the break away from the forum and utilitses the extra leisure time constructively!
