      a black figure?

Two days ago, as soon as i woke up, a black figure was standing at the end of my bed. Also against the wall, i have a large mirror big enough to cover half of my large window in my apartment. The figure didn't look human, it didn't look like a normal head either. I was under the cover but some how, some where threw the cover i could see it. I tested it today by laying in my bed under the cover to see how i could have seen it. But it seemed impossible how i could have seen it two days ago. Then, two days ago, then after i finished peeking through the cover some how, i quickly took the blanket from over my face and i saw the thing disappear! Whatever it was, i think it didn't think that i saw it, especially when it disappeared. I wasn't afraid though because i have no fear! I don't really believe in nightstalkers or dreamwalkers but, i wonder if that figure was one of them or, maybe it was hypnogogic because that same morning, sometime that morning maybe earlier, i had hypnogogic imagery, a little cartoon face as i woke up. If it was a "nightstalker" or "dreamwalker" then, maybe it was because i was reading that thread about them in this section.

I see those things standing in my room every now and then when I wake up too. I don't have the slightest clue as to what they are. The obvious explanation would be HI, but why does everyone see pretty much the same thing?

Are you saying you figured out a way to sneak a peak at them on purpose by peeking out from under your blankets? 'Cuz that would be pretty cool!

I think i did, i replayed the incident today by going into my room and under the covers. I tried to see how i was peeking through, but i couldn't figure it out. I don't know how i did it. The thing i saw looked about 5'8 or 5'9, i'm 5'10, but it was definitely shorter than me. I don't know why that thing appeared, if it was to scare me, then it failed because i fear not of the darkside. I think how i was able to see is, i had my blanket completely cover over my body and almost my whole face, except maybe one of my eyes, i think that's probably how i could see it. The thing looked neither like a man nor woman, and it looked rather skinny. I'm not making a challenge, but i say, don't dare come into my dreams, whatever it was.

I never tried talking to them. I tried charging one of them once, but it disappeared as soon as I moved.

When you were doing that blanket peeking thing, were you doing it after you woke up, or just while you were lying in bed?

Been really studying astral projection and I've read tons of cases that link back to this. Unbeknownst to most, we project from our bodies naturally every night. Most beginner AP'ers while trying to self-induce a projection will become freighted when a figure just like you described appears close to them. Little do they know this is just their own energy body projected, its quite ironic and a little funny, being frightened by your own self. AP is complex, it doesn't go with what your taught about the body and science. While projecting, you have 2 completely different sets of being/memories all at one time, you just don't remember the energy bodies set of memories unless you practice and use technique. Please trust me, you have nothing to fear but yourself.

Actually when i woke up, i was still laying in bed, a few seconds after i woke up i started that peeking thing. And also, that was the second time that day that i woke up from sleeping. I got up earlier that day and stayed up for a while, got sleepy, it happend between 10am and 12am.

From my experience those hypnoginics can really wreck havoc on you (in my case at least). I've only had maybe 2 in life but they always occurred after sunrise (when I shouldn't be sleeping anyway). For me they were a cross between the real world and the dream world because I knew I was awake yet at the same time all these strange things kept happening. I know how you feel. In fact in my experiences after the images and voices stopped I was fully awake looking at the SAME scenery in my bedroom wondering what the H-word (heck) had just happened.

When I was in my early teens I use to see black figures out of the corner of my eyes all the time at home. However any time I would actually focus on it, the figure would look to duck down and there would be a trail like the end of a cloak. For some reason, they didnt really scare me that much, but I still wanted to find out what they were. When I told my mom about this she got really scared...because she saw similar figures before her grandmother passed. However after about a year I stopped seeing them.

I've given you the answer, you may rest at peace or you may continue to be fear-mongered by others and controlled by destructive thought/fear itself, the choice is yours

I've had this years ago too amongst others. The outlook that it's an aspect of yourself is feasible I think. I "woke up" to feel a static sense all around me. The air was tingling, and felt "evil". I could barely move but managed to lift my head and saw two black figures at the end of my bed. Short ones. Think they had glowing eyes. I hid under the duvet, then got what appears to be the common "love" sensation, where I dismissed the "evil" as purely electical and stupid, opened up and felt a warmth and love. Imagery then changed fast.

Not sure what the significance of the hall was. Drifted down a hall of mutants. All sorts of things - Yetis of different colours and sizes, some with tentacles or something - looked like seawater type things, and all sorts of oddities. Finished driting towards a star then finding myself in a huge cavern, surrounded by kids of sorts. Same dreamlike distortion where they didnt look human but they were still all kids looking up to me, and I cared about all of em

No doubt it's just misunderstandings, stereotypes and emotions playing on peoples minds as they grow.

When I was a kid, I had several recurring nightmares of a figure in black that stalked me. When I was a senior in High School, I had another nightmare about her (for some reason, I knew she was female). Later, at work, about a year after the last dream, I found the attic to look IDENTICAL to the last dream I had with her in it. It was strange.

My mom had some chemical imbalances relating to the paralyzing agents that we have when we sleep. It happened all the time when she was a teenager. It happens rarely, now. Sometimes she has too little chemical and she will act out her dreams, with lots of noise and movement like an intense sleepwalking episode, (this is like, every two to three years this may happen once now,) but more commonly she just has sleep paralysis. Lots of people have it but her case was pretty severe she could lay paralyzed for a somewhat unusual amount of time. During this state she would see these figures and often more than one of them. She could look at them but she never said that they would disappear when she would look at them, How does that relate to the 'your own energy' theory, if there is a group of figures ?

No idea the angle people are putting forward here. I guess own energy means the current / charge going through your mind. Projecting several images in your mind seems little or no harder than one.

Re: familiar figures, may be an optical illusion. Even awake, we're all familiar with that sensation where you stare at the mirror, get lost in thought, lose focus and can make out a stream of other faces merging in and out with yours. The brain fills in the gaps it fancies I think lol.

Re: attic, that's probably common too. With nightmares its fears that are amplified, while fear is the strongest within your mind. With no calm to dimish the fear, other feared aspects creep in. Places you've feared in the past, ideas that frighten you etc.

Perhaps that's why i've had "end of the world" style notions flashing through my mind at times. I don't have much in the way of personal fears, but maintain a like of everything else living.
