de ja vu - reasons behind it and some experiments

so im making this post cause i have had alot of exeriences with da ja vu, it is when u go through ure day to day life and kinda have that moment where hmm ive seen/heard this exact same moment before.

so anyway 2 reasons for this phenomenom

      reason 1:

when we sleep our brain tries to recreate what it thinks will happen the next day so is our brain that accurate to get the right colours, sound people, time scenario everything perfectly alright or..

      reason 2:

the other way to describe it is if we have already lived every moment of this life already could that be what happens when u die? this life restarts? well that could explain memories kept secret within the subconcious which shows us images when we sleep

experiments to mabye prove some things:

so to prove whether my theorys are correct i want u guys to chip in on ure next lucid and do one or both of these listed below:

First before u goto sleep think of the best moment of your life, or an early memory e.g, marrage day, first day of school then when you are lucid call on your subconcious/dream guide and ask it to replay the memory ( if you are succsessfull then post on here tell me how realistic it was, if there was anything different within it)

Second and more interesting, call on your subconcious/dream guide and order it,ask it to show you events that will happen tomorrow, who knows it could be spot on ( if you could post any results from this here it would be great thanks for using your time reading this)

feel free to post ure weridist most vivid da ja vu moments? thx

How about a way more plausible theory than those (no offence ) which I've heard, that states, paraphrased by me of course and possibly semi-corrupted by my own finite intelligence and capacity to comprehend...

"Every moment in time gives off a pulsing of energy that has contained within it, in some form of coding-in like a specific wave-pattern or something (lol obviously paraphrasing here ), information about the state of every single everything at that point in the future. Humans sporadically pick up on this, in the form of future visions, de-ja-vu, and the like, as well as through dreams where you see something exactly how it happens in real life a short time from when you experienced the dream."

Gotta find it, its a very compelling read...

I will give two ways about deja vu bouth being probably true to some degree :

First and very simple---"it really has happened before"
      and
Second:as everything in life happens in circles,so sometimes in about the same situation person says or acts in a certain way and if it happens that one was more conscious when it happened and is selfconscious again in similar situation then its like something is "hitting" you and leaving you wandering "when ? when ?" and if analyzing this deeply you find that it was exactly the same emotion, exactly the same words and even possibly exactly the same action but yet different situation.

Don't really have anything major to add here, but for me I don't believe Deja Vu is just a co-incidence. Every time I have it its like I've definitely seen it before and no one could tell me otherwise.

recently I had a dream that my friend and I were watching the stars together late at night when a car came passed and i waved at it (just because) and my friend goes "theyre gona think your flicking them off" and im like "haha, yaa" and then we were taking about the guys we like. It was a completely random dream and it happened the next night in real life.

I heard somewhere that Deja vu is caused when one eye sees something before the other.

Or are we talking about dreams here?

It used to be that something would happen to me, someone would say something or I'd see something, and I would think, "Wow. Didn't this happen before?". I thought that this feeling was what people called deja vu. Then I had a frightening experience that convinced me otherwise.

There was an assembly at my school one day. I was a little confused because I could distinctly remember that they'd had an assembly the Friday before. I went to the assembly like normal, sat down with some friends and started talking waiting for it to start. When the person walked out onto the gym floor to start talking after being introduced by the principal, I started to get a little confused. I recognized him! I'd heard him talk before, and to the best of my memory it had been a week before at the last assembly. I wondered why they'd bring someone to talk about the evils of tobacco use again.

Then he started talking, and I got very confused. He was saying the exact same things he had said before! I mentioned this to one of my friends and he looked at me like I was insane, so i dropped the subject. But it got pretty soon to the point where i knew what he was going to say before he said it. It was a pretty freaky half hour. After words I asked a few other friends about it, but according to them there hadn't been an assembly the week before. I felt like I was gong insane. I figure that THAT"S what deja vu really is.

Maybe something you see, hear, or smell triggers a memory of a dream similar to the situation (one you have never recalled) and to fill in the memory gap your brain uses what is happening now to fill in the blanks.

      Just a theory.

Deja Vu is definitely one of my favorite phenomenons to experience.

I reckon what it is, is your brain just hasn't caught up with what is happening. So after about 2 seconds or so, you sort of remember what happened 2 seconds ago, but at the same time, the delayed thoughts are coming through.

It is hard to explain what I am thinking, but that is basically what I reckon it could be.

But... no one knows yet, so I guess we will just have to theorize for now.

Good ideas, I had a really strong one the other week where half way through I actually guessed what mam was going to pull out of the cupboard in my head and was right. I was like woah.
If I ever have a lucid dream then I will definatly ask a DC what will happen tomorow, It will be interesting to see what they say

thats pretty much what ive heard as to explain it, just slightly different but same kinda concept.

you see something but the brain has a little freeze (kinda like your PC) and process the information a little too late but the image you saw has already entered your memory and therefore you think you have seen it before.

Deja Vu is the result of dreaming. Last few time I've had it, I didn't think "this has happened before" but "I've dreamed this before"

No idea why I would think that, it's just what popped into my head.

Actually, neuroscience has explained deja vu as probably a minor "siezure" (and siezures are just uncontrolled electric impulses passing from one half of the briain to the other or someting like that) and when you see something, or meet someone and this minor siezure happens, it sparks something in your short-term/long-term memory (depending) which tells you that you've seen this person or done this thing before, but your brain just cannot fill in the rest of the blanks.
But...this may not be the case, and perhaps our subconsious, psychic mind, or whatever you prefer sends us these impulses "for a reason" or, like someone said, events in the future may have an energy "code" that triggers this impulse in our minds, and we may recieve these all the time, but perhaps we are only able to "decode" them once in a while, resulting in the sensational experience of, what we call, "deja vu.".
..Just my little bit of speculation.
      ...And then to dream...

Mabye but how can a simular dream experience be exactly spot on to how the weather is, whats on the radio, the people around's faces and emotions and background noise that would be very high odds or an annoying coincidence but it could be possible..

I had a period in my life when I didn't remember my dreams for almost years in a row. Then I thought that it would be great to see and remember them - after that I started to remember my dreams immediately!

Then I had a period in my life when I didn't have any DJVs for years. And NOW, after I started to write my DJ again - I started to have DJV almost every day. Is that a coincidence or what?

ha good erm i really should i have about 2 or 3 de ja vu moments a week and i had a very clear de ja vu last week or so, i was at work and putting some plugs on cables and i was listening to the radio and i wanted to hear something and my dad started talking and i was trying to listen to 2 conversations and once and then i was like grr he is interupting me and i got de ja vu and when i thought back to it about 2 minutes before i woke up in the morning it was kinda semi conscious dreaming and i remember seeing those images in the morning and when i thought grr he is interupting the radio when i was half asleep i got woken up so the point im trying to make is how long could that prediction in the morning have lasted if i wasnt woke up + i can remember those images very well anyone had anything simular to this?
