      Question NyQuil Effect?

A few nights ago, I tried to induce a WILD, by focusing on my breathing while I was falling asleep. This wasn't a WBTB. After a while, I lost my patience and moved. But...well... I felt all doped up on NyQuil. Except I hadn't taken NyQuil. You know the feeling.... It feels like you're a rock!

      Any thoughts?

I couldn't tell you exactly. You can get a lot of strange sensations while you're falling asleep. And your brain does a lot of stuff and releases a lot of chemicals during the process.

NyQuil has Diphenhydramine in it. Therefore if someone was all doped up on it, they would get the, what I call 'body load' from it. It can weigh you down and make you feel, well pretty much like a rock just as you said. Maybe while focusing on your breathing while trying to induce your WILD, you got more relaxed than usual and got muscle atonia. I find that muscle atonia can be very similar to the effects of Diphenhydramine because you feel so weighed-down and zonked out.

I agree with Shala, iv'e taken so many medications/O.T.C product to help sleep since i'm beyond chronic insomnia & i get the exact same feeling when i'm on it. Keeps me away from doing any method to reach lucidity.

Basically my wife was immature. I'd be at home in the bath and she'd come in and sink my boats.

In my house I'm the boss, my wife is just the decision maker.

NyQuil has Doxylamine succinate in it, not Diphenhydramine. Regardless, doxylamine is a sedating first generation antihistamine just like diphenhydramine. It's more potent as a hypnotic, however, it even rivals barbiturates and other prescription sleep aids.

Diphenhydramine is a great sleep aid for the lucid dreamer. Its effect are almost gone at the six hour mark, so a hour 6 WBTB works great, and you can still use a sleep aid. Yay, diphenhydramine.

Yeah, my mistake. You're right I was thinking Tylenol PM for some reason when I read his post.
