Just had my first Out of Body Experience :D!!!

This morning I woke up around 7:30 , was still quite exhausted, so I had a shower and went back to bed for around 8:00...

Anyways, I am lying there for about an hour not falling asleep, but in a very calm state, doing some breathing meditation, honestly I was hoping for a lucid dream, but did not expect what happened next..

All of a sudden I feel intense vibrations running through out my body, and it slowly gets more intense, until my whole body has gone numb ( I recognized it as body paralysis ) , I calmed my self and did not let myself stop the process by getting too excited..

At the same time as the intense vibrations are running through my body, I can hear intense ringing in my ears, it was actually quite interesting, I cant honestly explain the sound now, its just an intense ringing..

And than my whole body was numb, and I was just lieing there in my bed... thinking so what next?
I try to float up out of my body, but that does not work,
So I remember some people mentioned "rolling" out of their body, so I do this, and OMG, if you have never felt it, its one of the most amazing things, My physical body literally was lying in my bed, but I could feel myself roll out of it, and I was on my hands and knees on the floor next to my bed,

Now the most interesting part, while I was lying in my bed, I had my left eye open and my right was like glued shut or something, so I could see my whole room around me, and I could also hear family members talking downstairs,

So the best I can describe is like this, I am on the floor on my hands and knees, and I can feel myself crawling across it, but I am totally blind, but I can see from my physical body,
so its like I could move with my astral body, and could see and hear with my physical body,

I willed myself back into my physical body, and thats when the distortion started to happen, through my one open eye, I could see the bed shrink and enlarge, I felt at some moments like suddenly I was hanging from the ceiling...

I than try to induct a lucid dream, but it does not work, but I get very intense dream imagery, and the first thing that comes to my mind is God and Heaven, so I see myself floating up through great light It was beautiful imagery,

I stop the imagery, and move my left hand ( not my physical hand ), and I just push it through my face, and it just goes through like there was nothing there,

So at this point, I decide to wake up my physical body, so I can write this all down ( I feared to somehow forget this amazing experience ) , so I bring attention to my physical body, and i can slowly start to feel my right hand on the bed, so I move my fingers more and more, and slowly wake up the rest of my body,

I sit up, grab my journal and write this all down

I have always believed it was possible, but to just experience it for the first time was the most amazing thing to me, I am truly blessed and so thrilled

Most are dreams, they show examples he told were dream related.
Perception is different but if you see doors on the ceiling it's safe to say it's a dream, and not a real OBE. There is no door on the ceiling, so you wont see a door on the ceiling.

The first one is always so amazing. Mine was very similar to yours in how it was induced. One morning I was dozing and the vibrations and rushing sounds hit me pretty quickly. This was the third morning in a row I had SP (the first 2 I was scared and didn't do anything)... so I finally decided to give a shot. Tried to float up, nope. Tried the rope, nope. Tried to roll... *TTTTEEEEAAAARRRRR* - my excitement at this point as I feel myself rolling is through the roof. I have no idea how I didn't wake up immediately. I see the edge of the bed about a foot below me, the blue carpet, and floated out to the middle of the room, lost my vision, and felt myself touch down very gently on the carpet. It felt "weird", my second body did at least. The entire time I felt buzzed. I had great difficulty moving around and my vision was blurry, but the experience was just so surreal.

I've only had 2 or 3 since that first one that compared to it - the rest just "felt" like regular dreams.

There's just this really different very hard to explain "feeling" during what I perceive as an OBE, which is currently what keeps me from completely dismissing them as regular dreams.

      Congrats!!

I guess there is a fine line of an OBE. heh, interesting.

I've always wanted to experience an OBE but I always fight it in the process.

Sorry, but I did not mention anything about doors on the ceiling...

Perhaps it was part dream, but definetly it was more than that, because its like nothing I have ever experienced,

You would need to experience to truly realise how amazing it is

You know exactly what I mean, yes it is an amazing feeling

I fought the excitement and made sure I would not accidently abort what was happening

I wish for you many more of these experiences

Once you stop the fighting, you will be open to the experience,

I was lucky enough to not fight it the first time, and I am truly thrilled with what I have experienced and learned from it

It gives me much motivation to keep going in this direction

      Best of luck!

I mean with people who say they have OBE's and mention of doors on the ceiling, you said dream imagry, so i mentioned dream imagry.

I understand what you mean, I think the thing is, We are usually not conciously aware as we move around in our Astral bodies, so to move in it for the first time, well, feels weird

Like I said, I was moving around but couldn't see, I also felt kind of weak too, I tried standing up and getting off of my knees but that itself was a challenge too,

I think it just takes practice and experience to develop the travelling in the astral body

but hey, we can do it!!

Cheers to those who have experienced it, and I wish the best to those who have not yet... ( but if you keep at it, it will come )

be it an OBE or just another kind of LD (which i suppose it was at least in my case), i found that though just after rolling out i felt very heavy and weak, after crawling (pitifully sadako-like) far from my body (a room away), it became a lot easier to see, stand and move, and also was easy enough to come back to my room.
i didn't discover it on my own though, i remember i had read it somewhere .
it may be worth a try

Thanks I will have to try that crawling to another room technique, when I have my next OBE

But I find it very interesting how our OBE's were so close, the same rolling onto the knees, crawling on the floor, not able to see, weak...etc...

      Definetly an interesting experience

How do you know when to roll out of your body?

I really cant answer that question, its just like having never tasted strawberries and asking another person who has " What do Strawberries taste like?....

Leaving the body is hard to explain, you would need to feel it to understand,

My whole body just went numb, and than I couldnt feel it at all, I first tried to float out but that didnt work, but the roll out method ....

Just felt like literally rolling with the physical body, but not the same...

I would guess that the best time to attempt rolling out, is when sleep paralysis finally sets in, after the final big wave of vibrations finally goes through your body,

It took me about an hour and fifteen minutes of staying completely still and letting my whole body relax, and just focusing on my breath until the vibrations hit me...

I did not mean for it to happen, I was actually trying to induct a lucid, but I am very happy with what I discovered And I am definetly going to do my best to induct another wakeful sleep paralysis onto myself,

And though some would say its scary, just go into it with a calm and open mind, and you will pull through all right

And with a great story to tell afterward

      Best of luck

How do you know that this was not just a normal lucid dream? Your description sounds about exactly like every WILD I've ever had. Is your description of an OBE any different from a WILD or are you considering them different names for the same thing?

Every other Lucid Dream I have ever had, has never been this vivid, or taken place in my own bedroom,

Like I said, It felt like I was still partially in my physical body, and partly in my astral body, I could clearly see my room around me and nothing seemed odd ( until after I returned to my body and the distortions began ) , I also heard family talking downstairs, and after I woke up and wrote down this experience they were still there and talking,

It was unlike any dream, or any Lucid dream I have ever had.....

Until I actually am able to induce them again and gain a better control of them, we truly wont know,

It might be like you said, just a Lucid ( a very vivid one ), perhaps a part lucid part OBE, or an OBE,

When I can induce them more frequently I will start testing and I will keep you all updated on progress ( but it may take some time for me to get the induction method down pat )

I would definetly do my best to help with the experiment,

I will for sure have another one of these "experiences" ( as we are still in debate as to what it was ) Its just a matter of time

NewDreamer...I have a suggestion for you next time something like this happens. I don't know if you are religious or not (I'm actually not anymore but I was raised catholic), but this was suggested to me by someone and it created some really amazing things.

While you are blundering around outside your body, whether it be a LD, an AP, an OBE or whatever you want to call it...stop, close your eyes, and start reciting a prayer. Or a mantra, if you prefer. I've said the Hail Mary and the Our Father during "APs" and some CRAZY shit happened. Amazing really.

It's all in my DJ, let me know if you want a link.

I had one about a year ago. I was lying in my bed, the next thing i know i begin to rise slowly to the ceiling. I look down and i can see my physical body in bed i then begin to slowly float out of my room, i begin to panic at this point and i re-enter my physical body.

If i knew it was an obe i wouldn't have panicked but i didn't know what was going on.
