Exterminate

A second sun suddenly appeared in the sky one day. Outside a village were some abandoned ruins. Nobody ever entered the ruins, but they stood as a reminder for the great nation that used to exist there. It was all dark, as if evil magic was practiced there too.
I got word that something bad was coming. I was to warn what was called the locals of what was to come. The locals were the descendants of the previous civilization. They were Hawaiian and there was no anger between the locals and the townspeople.
After some time there came these servants from the sun. They were all black and came in many forms. They seemed to be good-hearted, and the people trusted them as faithful servants, but I knew something wasn't right. There seemed to be a constant flow of them appearing. I stayed away from them for a while, because I wanted nothing to do with them. The military saw the second sun as a bad omen and shot a rocket at the second sun. When the rocket hit it caused many explosions and spewed a black ink all over the place. The ground soaked it up really well and left some discoloration all over. I was in a car when it happened, and I remember the entire thing being covered in this black substance. It went away pretty quick, but it was thick. You could not see anything out of it.
When I finally saw these things, my first instinct was to kill them all, and at first I did. After killing quite a few, I found that the longer they were on the earth, the more sentient they got, and I had great remorse for killing one that could speak.
I think this dream was influenced by the Doctor Who episode Army of Ghosts. In that episode the cybermen were phasing in from a parallel Earth.
