I feel your frustration. One time I dreamed that I was getting ready to have a lucid dream. Fail on my part haha

I hope you're able to have a lucid dream tonight (or maybe early tomorrow morning)!

(And start sleeping enough for it to be possible!)
I believe that is the key, if I get enough sleep, I can wake up several times in the middle of the night...I believe this is increases my chances for success. When my insomnia is at 'full throttle', forget about dreaming, forget about waking up in the middle of the night (when I do go to sleep), forget about anything that has to do with dreaming and lucuidity!

As always, thanks for your comments!

Somehow, my super lucid senses kicked in and I heard a voice in my head say, "Stop staring and hug the damn thing...NOW!"
A subtle little hint from your subconscious, there.

      Great job!

that's just how my body works, I naturally wake up in the middle of night
That's a great LD habit! I have this habit now, too, but I had to kind of train it back into me. (And start sleeping enough for it to be possible!)

The hypothesis from your dream doesn't seem weird to me, I recognize some aspects of it in my own life

I'm also trying MILD+WBTB at the moment, I stumbled upon this yesterday, maybe you wanna check it out (if you haven't already): The R.W.I (Repetition of Writing Induction) Technique
I'm trying this now as a supplement to WILD+WBTB

The feelings and emotions in dreams can be very powerful indeed. Dreams are awesome.

      Thanks darknightedlady,

To be honest, I wasn't quite 'right' for that entire day after I woke up. Dreams can give us the opportunity to feel emotions that we have never felt before...I felt like I had suffered a type of lose, similar to a death that day. I kept thinking, if that is what it feels like when a man loves a woman, what the hell have I been experiencing in real life???

      Thanks for your comments.

There is something about the intense love felt in dreams...you really captured it with your words...nice dream.

FYI, you can change the date of your journal entries, if you want to. Even in edit mode after posting.
      Thanks Sibyline!

I started not to post it because it happened a few days ago, but I needed the motivation...even if the dreams are in 'pieces' .

First of all, this dream is hilarious! From the alien's size to the fact that he made his escape by trying to merge with your skin... so funny.

But yeah, I don't know what to tell you about missing dream signs! We've all missed them before and unfortunately, we'll miss em again. I'm still often amazed by just how gullible I can be sometimes.

But the more that you marinate in that mindset of "I have to be prove to myself that I'm not dreaming", you'll find awareness popping up more and more often at moments like this. Just keep cultivating that skeptical mindset as best you can and in the meantime enjoy crazy dreams like this one.

      Thanks CanisLucidus!

I guess I have to just look at this dream episode as my chance to gain more experience!

LOL! I swear, in my non-LDs, if someone came up to me with a sign that read "This is a dream! You are a lucid dreamer! To become lucid, just realize that you are dreaming - right NOW!", I still wouldn't get it.

      Sibyline,

You are not alone, I'm just going to have to question everything in waking life in order for me to question what is going on in my dreams!

You know, I had a dream where my dad came up to me and three times said, "You know, you're dreaming all of this right now." I just kept blowing him off saying, yeah, yeah, I'll catch some sleep soon.

I know right? (regarding 2nd dream)...I am always dreaming I'm lost and can't find my way home. I believe this is directly related to my childhood (past around as a child from family member to family member) My mother didn't raise me so I lived with whoever was available at the time...I wonder if that is why I always dream of my mother??? WOW, this is getting too psychological! Moving on!

That skyscraper sounds fantastic. I too build fantastic structures in non-lucids. I wonder what it will be like if I ever remember to do it consciously in a lucid.

The second one was very sad. I think it's so strange how some dreams can be so emotional, and then in others, I'm completely neutral, even if really horrible things are happening.

Good recall - keep up the good work.

Congratulations on the lucid, right on! It's cool that you get those weird vibrations when you walk the moment that you become lucid. It sounded awesome and empowering... until I read that it kept sending you back to your bedroom.

For a second, I told myself to control my emotions and not get excited or I would wind back up in my body...as soon as I said this, I was back in my body
Cool, it sounds like you recognize exactly what was going on here. Once your mind began to dwell on your physical body, you became more connected with that physical body and less connected with your dream. We've all done it (some of us a lot!) so no worries there... the fact that you get exactly why it happened is what really matters.

If you're looking for another mindset to cultivate, try instead of just getting really into the dream. Think even less about that physical body and get more into the mindset of "Holy crap, this is a seriously awesome, amazing, vivid dream!" That's why things like rubbing your hands together, touching everything, licking the floor, etc. are such popular stabilization techniques. It's not so much about thinking whether things are or are not stable but more about really sinking your teeth into the dream scene and forcing your mind to generate lots of detail for your enjoyment.

      Good work!

I missed this one when you posted it.
Don't feel bad. You have such high-brow celebrity DCs! All I can conjure up are singers, apparently, and 2 out of 3 I don't even like. I want to meet Einstein and Tesla! And remember to be lucid, of course.
