    1. Maximum Ride.

      by , 11-16-2010 at 06:06 PM
I remember I was the person in charge of the Flock again, the not-Max but I was Max at the same time. We were inside of a city, and although it was grating on my nerves to be in such a confined space with so many people, I put up with it. I even got suckered into going to a game arcade. As we didn't have any money, I used my "talent" of reaching into people's minds to have the person at the counter think the leaves we were giving them were hundred-dollar bills.

Now easily stocked up on the arcade money, I took my cousin over to a station (he was part of my Flock), and began to play. Halfway through the game, however, I noticed men. Men that were trying very hard to blend in but failing miserably at it - to me, anyway. I tapped my cousin on the shoulder and whispered, "Hey. Time to go."

He looked confused, and was about to ask me why, but then looked outside and understood.

A little too late. They were onto us.

Taylor and I dashed through the arcade, leaping over the counter and running out through the back. We booked it over to the mall, where I knew the rest of my Flock was inside. Evading a few people, we skidded inside of the doors and I looked around at hyperspeed, trying to find the other four members. We located them very quickly, and not a moment too soon. The men (and one woman, in this case) were on us. I hurried them through the mall, trying to think up a plan - and it hit.

We trapped them, and I infiltrated all of their minds at once. It was hard, and my hold wasn't as strong as usual, but I managed to tell them that they had lost track of us. They had tried their hardest, but we had flown off before they could do anything about it. A few of them added their own details into there, but other than that, things went smoothly. I told them to forget we ever existed, and if they did see us, they were going to think that we were nothing more than some simple kids.

And then we were free again - for a while, anyway. I managed to steal a car, and told all of the Flock we were going shopping for survival supplies. We were all going to have a backpack, and the next few stores we stopped at, we were going "shopping" for the best supplies we could find. And then we were going to leave.

The men were watching us closely, but suspicion was kind of gone from their minds due to what I had done earlier. The Flock agreed with me, as there had been some pretty close calls over the past couple hours, and nobody wanted to go back to the bad place they wanted to drag us back to.

    2. Soul Eater - Adnai Becomes A Weapon?

      by , 11-07-2010 at 04:12 PM
This one started out with me being Maka's Weapon, Soul. We were fighting against an enemy, but we weren't really winning. In the end, though, we managed to prevail by learning a new attack. Except we'd lost the agreement we had with the person who had contracted us, so instead we were sucked into his body. Maka and I were seperated and punished for "failing" this mission, and I was told I needed to learn how to be human.

Namely by going to school with my sister.

It really was amazing. There were so many people, and since I looked human on the outside, nobody knew what I really was. Happily I walked with my sister and talked about all sorts of things. Like who the teachers were, what they were like, how many people were her friends, etc, etc. My sister warned me and said not everybody at her school was nice, and to be careful.

At that point in time, somebody tried to pickpocket me. Angry, and getting even angrier that they insulted my sister and me, I reached out my hand and offered it to my sister.

      "Give me your hand, sis."

She did, and in a burst of white light, I was in Weapon form, and my sister spun me around threateningly. She didn't have as much skill as Maka did, but it was passable.

We attacked three times. Swinging the scythe down and leaving a deep grooves into the pavement. The person squeaked out in horror and jumped backwards, thinking I'd cleave him in two. I wasn't going to, I just wanted to scare him and send a message that I was not to be trifled with. At the third strike, a teacher emerged and a bell rang.

"Alright, break it up. You, out of Weapon form. Go to class." He snapped. My sister set me on the ground, and with a sigh - and another flash of light, my body rose from the scythe and it disappeared. My sister looked at me.

      "Happy first day." She said.

      I grunted.

(The title is in honor of how the show's episode titles always end with questions. xD )

    3. Silent Hill Prison

      by , 11-05-2010 at 03:57 PM
I don't know what brought me to this prison, but I was drawn there. Like there was something wrong with it and I had to fix it. I was wandering through the prison, having a hard time concentrating. Some people seemed to be glowing, while other people were looking fine. And then the prison itself would change, morphing into some kind of rusty, blood-smeared, hellish place.

The prison itself was ruled by mean guards who were on power trips. They did violent and horrible things to the prisoners before my very eyes. Cells were overcrowded, sometimes packing more than forty cots into one of the largest rooms.

I was passing by the cell belonging to a boy and a girl when I noticed they. . . weren't glowing like some of the other people in the prison. So I asked them what they had done to get in there. Both of them responded, "nothing. The damn police just locked us up. We haven't done anything." Before I could continue anything, I found a guard approaching me. I had been digging too deeply into the prison's methods, and they probably wanted to kick me out. I dashed out into the next room, where I watched the door slam shut by itself and lock me into a cell.

The world flickered back and forth between the horrific one I'd seen and the normal prison.

Except this time there was a man standing in front of me, holding a sword. He spoke, but without actually using words.

I was scared, but not fearing, of this man. I couldn't see his face, it was wrapped by scarves and his body was covered by a thick jacket. When he spoke, his voice seemed to be both in my mind and echoing in the air around me - like he didn't really have a voice to speak with at all.

He told me he had been waiting for someone like me for a long time. Somebody he could use to punish the sin occuring in this awful prison. He was standing in front of me, then, and handing me a sword I had not known he had been holding.

He disappeared then, and power punched through me. I adopted his earlier style of dress, with the scarves covering all of my face except for a slit for my eyes and mouth, and the heavy jacket making my movements a little slow.

I was scared of such sudden change. And even more scared when the prison morphed back and I found myself holding a sword in a room full of guards. I ran - or tried to.

The man who'd given me all of these things told me that I couldn't run away. I had to help him stop the sin. I frantically told him I wanted no part in it, I wasn't going to kill people just to stop more crimes from happening. Two wrongs didn't make a right. He was quiet, then, and he asked just as quielty, "So you refuse, then?"

      "Yes!"

Everything whirled away, and I found myself disoriented on top of a set of stairs.

      His voice was eveywhere.

"I cannot wield a weapon that would attack the hand that holds it. You are in my realm now, and here, I will fix you."

I had no other choice. I began to descend the stairs.

    4. Zombies

      by , 11-01-2010 at 04:11 PM
My family and I were in this town that was currently on the run from zombies. We dashed inside of a store quickly, and I remember I was following behind them, trying to tell them that these zombies were different than regular zombies. They could think for themselves. They could speak. The only real difference between us was that they were infected by the zombie virus and we weren't.

      They didn't believe me.

Other people entered the store, telling us they were heading out of town too. Nobody wanted to get tangled up in the undead thing. The hair on the back of my neck rose up, and I frowned, hiding myself away from them.

I was right to do so. Right as my family was about to leave, having collected supplies from the store, they told us we weren't going anywhere. I knew immediately that these people were the zombies I'd been talking about, and I wanted to shove it in my mom and dad's face.

THey killed my mom and dad before I had a chance to do anything. In retaliation, I hit both of them with a knife in the small of their necks. I do believe that I killed them. That being done, I got the hell out of dodge and ran out of the store, knife still in hand, and down the street. I ran until I couldn't anymore, tears blurring my vision, sobs in my chest. I was alone.

Somebody directed me to a military outpost, and it was there that I finally collapsed. Men with guns poked me, telling me that if I didn't get myself checked out by a medic, they were going to assume I was infected. So somehow, I managed to pick myself up and off the ground and to a medical tent.

There they checked me out and okayed me. I tried to tell them that these zombies were different. They were like us. But nobody would listen to me. I heard a scream on the far end of the camp, and I sat there and closed my eyes.

      Then I woke up.

    5. Becoming A Paratrooper.

      by , 11-01-2010 at 04:02 PM
( Note: My dream decided that 'paratrooper' is what it wanted it to be. I wasn't actually referencing to the military branch itself. )

I can remember that I was crazy enough to decide I wanted to try and become a Paratrooper, so I signed myself up for the training and off I went. It was harsh, it was insane, and it felt at times like my body nearly broke itself in two. But whenever it just got too tough, I kept telling myself to do one more foot, another step, another piece of the crawl.

Finally, our final test came. I thought I failed it. The instructor called me and another person into his office, and he slapped two paper packets down onto his desk. He gave us a smile and congradualted us on a successful run. Inside was everything we needed to understand what we had to do to start being paratroopers. Supplies, recommendations, etc.

To celebrate, I asked him if we could make a haunted house, since it was so close to Halloween. Surprisingly, he agreed. The next few days I was incredibly busy, making a haunted house specifically using some of the Paratrooper training course objects. A tunnel you had to crawl through. A rope-wall you had to climb over.

I had just turned everything on, and the rest of our unit were coming in when I woke up.

Sadly, too. I wanted to see how most of them ran it without getting scared.

    6. Working At Disneyland.

      by , 11-01-2010 at 03:39 PM
So for some reason in this dream a friend of mine worked at Disneyland. She told me they were short on waitressess, so of course I offered to help. I was taken to a small restuarant, and handed about ten or eleven tables to take care of. Some of these tables could seat up to about twenty people at a time.

My friend also told me that the fun part was - they got to do it in costume!

I was given this purple and pink dress that looked remotely like a fairy's dress. It made sense, because I was on Tinkerbell's-themed-floor, so the waitressess dressed up like fairies.

From there I went waitressing! It was somewhat difficult, since I didn't know how to give the people the food they ordered, but nobody complained when I told them it was my first day on the job. I made extra sure to charm up the kiddies so that way the parents wouldn't get too mad at me if the food was late.

I woke up shortly after the restuarant closed.

( Though, since it was Halloween and I went trick or treating in costume, this dream made sense. I looked good in the dress, too, even if it did have pink in it. )

    7. Zombies // Misc. Dream

      by , 10-23-2010 at 03:43 PM
I remember I was inside of this school. I loved to climb about the outside, to jump all over the railings and discover new shortcuts and ways for me to sneak in and out. I also had a favorite teacher, one of the few inside of the school. Her name was Ms. Honey, and she was in charge of the younger kids, ages 7-12. I often found myself dropping by the large windows outside of her classroom, waving to her before I continued about my day.

But something was different about my town. It was tense. It was scary. People talked in hushed whispers about the government and refused to tell the children why.

I ignored all of this, and went about my day at school. But while I was in the hallway to the upstairs apartments, I saw something. . . strange. Men in military garb, in the janitors apartment. They murdered him, a quick knife slash to the throat, and quickly left. I was shocked to my very core. I had liked the janitor, he had been a nice man. . . But he didn't stay dead. What seemed like seconds later, his eyes opened, bloodshot and dialated, and he shuffled back up to his feet.

I don't know how I knew, but I knew the children and Ms. Honey were in danger. Quickly escaping the building, I climbed on the outside and dropped by her window, frantically banging on it. She opened it up, allowing me inside, and closed it again. I was out of breath, my heart was hammering in my chest, and all I wanted to do was get them the hell out of there.

I began to tell her that we had to leave. Right now. If we didn't, people were going to get hurt and the children wouldn't be safe.

      She didn't believe me.

I told her the government had just paid a visit to the janitor upstairs.

She paled, and looked at me. I nodded my head back at her, and she quickly spurred into action.

"It's time for an evacuation drill." She said, a slightly serious look on her face, "Kyleigh will help you outside. Today we'll be learning how to get out of the window."

The hallways weren't safe. No telling how many people the janitor had infected. So I hurriedly opened up the window and helped the kids out, one at a time. I helped them to the edge of the roof, where they all dropped, one-by-one, into the street. Ms. Honey came out last, when the classroom was empty.

      She paled.

"I'm missing three children!" She told me. I ambled over the rooftop, back to the window, and found those three kids returning, with a zombie in tow. They didn't seem to realize he had his throat injured, and nor the way he tried to grab at them.

The girls saw me and walked over to me, loving the way I walked so easily over the school's exterior. They thought I could walk on air. I smiled as calmly as I could and said we were doing a drill. One girl I helped up and ushered to the window. The second followed. The third was a little bit short.

"Oh, don't forget my new friend. He'll get lonely."

"I won't, honey. Up, c'mon, jump up." I said, also as calmly as I could manage. She did, right as the zombie shuffled to greet us and I got us away from it. The stupid thing didn't know how to get on counters and through a window.

Ms. Honey looked at me, relieved as she collected all of the children - including myself - and directed us away from the building.

The government came shortly after. I remember watching as we were all quarantined, tested, and released, and then the building was set on fire. I watched that firery inferno lick and eat away at the building's insides. One of my most beloved playgrounds was toppling to the ground. I cried a little as it went, but said nothing more.

I had saved Ms. Honey and twenty children from becoming zombies, and that was all that mattered to me.

      -------------------------------------------------------------------

This next dream was very misc. and slightly fragmented.

I remember there was a construction sight where the men there decided to shave a hedge to make it look like Genie just because they felt like it.

I felt very exasperated throughout the course of the dream.

For some reason, Vincent Valentine owned an ice cream/bakery stand. I knew not why. He also owned a celllphone, haha.

I woke up roughly 2 times this night. Once at 3:55, and the other a minute before my alarm clock went off.

    8. Aliens

      by , 10-23-2010 at 03:28 PM
This took place in the eyes of Newt. She was in the colony, as was a large fraction of people and US Marines. Newt was incredibly worried, because she knew what would happen if the monsters came out of the planet and began to attack the colony.

      That is exactly what happened.

The Marines were holding off the Xenomorphs to give the civilians enough time to escape. It was working very well, with the Marines holding up an incredibly formidable defense inside of an armored dome. It had machine and rail guns attached to every bit of it. As Ripley was piloting one of the civilian carriers away, she saw Newt, left behind in the middle of an alien fight.

She promised herself she would come back for the child, even if it meant getting kicked out of the military.

Newt, once everybody had left save for a skeleton crew of Marines, took over an empty gun turret and shot at one of the few remaining aliens. She hit it, and it fell down with a screech. This also alerted the Marines to her presence, but right as they were about to say something, they saw a dog that had been injured.

"Hey, hey. Watch it, that dog's going straight for the. . . Fence." One of the Marines sounded fearful as he remembered the perimeter fence. Obviously the dog had found a hole.

The Marines opened fire again, on a new onslaught of aliens, and Newt was quickly shooed off the turret and told to run. She did, fearing her life and running faster than she ever had in her life. Unfortunately, two of the aliens tore off of the attacking pack and proceeded after her. Newt tripped, a rock tangling around her ankle. She got back up to her feet, but it was too late. The aliens were right there, and she had nothing to defend herself.

One of them approached, examining her, and then sniffing her. It growled, low in its throat, and then turned to its companion and growled again. Both of the Xenomorphs quickly ran off, presumably to go fight against the Marines. Newt, at this point, thought her heart was going to explode in her chest from beating so fast.

She didn't stop to wait. She turned back around and started running again. That was when Ripley found her, having kept her promise and tightly embracing her. She said she had the rest of the Marines and it was time to go. There was no use in waiting.

      They did.

Newt was safe, and she curled up next to Ripley the entire trip back to the space colony, which was both alien-free and safe.

    9. Incubus

      by , 10-18-2010 at 03:30 PM
At the first the dream had nothing to do with me. I was watching a man at nighttime that damn near drowned in a bayou. He was tearing up a rotted dock in his attempts to get to land - and eventually he made it. He laid there, spluttering and gasping as he rested half-in, half-out of the water. I also saw the shadows that rose up out of the water and towered over him silently. Around seven foot, heavily muscled, and it had horns. I didn't know how I knew, but I knew it was an incubus. The man turned around - and was about to scream before the shadows converged on him and it entered his body.

Then the dream switched to me, and I walked outside, trying to find out what the source of a odd noise was. I'd just stepped to the rotted dock to find it unoccupied - until somebody grabbed me from behind and threw me down on the ground. The man was there, red eyes staring at me as he smiled. Then he raped me.

      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few weeks later, I avoided his place like the plague, not wanting to admit what had happened between us. He was supposed to get married in two weeks. I started to feel sick, so I decided to go to the doctor's, though I already knew what had happened. Somehow I'd gotten pregnant from the encounter. As I sat in the counselor's office, I impatiently twiddled with my fingers and kept absolutely to myself.

The demon inside of him seemed to know what I wanted to do, for it impersonated the advisor I was about to see, but another counselor was supposed to be in the room with him. His plan half-failed right then and there.

I go in, sit down, and both of them give me a small phamplet with some questions. Namely, can you take care of a baby, are your parents supportive, blah blah blah. There were nine of them. I circled NO for 7.

At this, the Incubi got mad that I was going to get my way, and he turned to violence. He followed me upstairs and began to throw people through windows, break down doors looking for me. I hid behind a small alcove, watching the man with red eyes rant and rave about how I'd lied to him. How I'd willingly bedded him in an attempt to ruin his marriage.

That's when I saw his wife's car out in the parking lot.

Taking a risk, I dashed out there and found her right as she was about to drive off. I told her everything in a hushed, hurried voice. I started to cry towards the middle of it, because even though none of it had really been my fault, I still felt guilty that this had happened.

Though the wife just told me it would be okay, and she wasn't angry. He'd been acting different ever since that night on the dock, and it was only a matter of time before she found out what was causing it. She believed me. Then she stepped out of her car, her fiance stepped out of the clinic, and they were about to face off.

I woke up right after that.

    10. WAR - Weaponized Armor Regime.

      by , 10-08-2010 at 05:26 PM
I was a child soldier. I'd been blown up in battle, though I don't know it happened or why. My primary caretaker, a man I'd known for years, was hovering over me as I woke up. IVs and tubes were stuck into my arms, and it hurt to even turn my head to look at him.

"You've been out for a while," He said softly, "How are you feeling?"

I grunted in acknowledgement. Of course I wasn't feeling good. I'd probably been shot and blown up to kingdom come.

"Here. I have to adjust the medicine. You're going to be out of it for a while, okay?" He did, and instantly I felt pain shooting down my arm. I hiccupped in agony for a moment, but then I relaxed and the pain died off. Another doctor entered my field of vision - my doctor's colleage.

"So she's the child soldier I've been hearing about, huh?" He said, brushing some of my hair out of my face.

"Yes. She's the only one to have survived the conditioning and training. She's WAR's Patient Zero."

"I bet she's a sight to see in battle. Elegance and grace and all that."

"If you're into watching children murder, then sure."

The other doctor scoffed lightly, and my primary doctor looked down at me before patting me on the shoulder gently, "It'll be a while before you're back in action. Just rest now, okay? I've got to go fill out some paperwork."

Then he left, and I laid against the bed, silently willing the pain to go away. The other doctor was back in my line of sight again in no time. He placed a mask over my face.

"Some people just can't appreciate a good power when they see one. Don't worry, dear. I'll make sure you're put to good use."

He gassed me, then, and I dozed off, unable to help myself. I felt strong arms lifting me out of the bed and unplugging the IVs and needles. But by then I was too asleep to care.

I was with Ominae Yu at this archelogical dig site. We were moving to the back of the room, where a man was trying to access a power core of some kind. We passed a room full of mirrors, a room full of chests, and another room I don't remember too well. Upon reaching the back, however, the man we'd been trying to stop turned around and flashed us a wicked grin.

"You can change it all, Ominae," He said, moving his hand, "Everything. Cosmos. Your mother and father. It can all go to the way it was supposed to be. This place has the power to change time. Events. History itself."

A mirror began to flash with Ominae's memories, to the most significant parts in his life. He stared at it, and eventually his eyes got all blank and he reached forward. I wasn't sure if he was possessed or hypnotized or whatever, but I rushed forward and latched onto him.

"Don't! Ominae, if you change the past, there's no telling what could happen! It could make things worse."

The man got angry at me, strode forward, and knocked me away from him. Ominae reached forward again to touch the mirror, but this time I screamed.

      "OMINAE!"

That seemed to snap him out of it somewhat, because he paused, and the mirror started to crack. The man growled and rounded on me angrily, but not before I scrambled up to my feet and tried to run. He didn't chase me, but instead looked to Ominae - and Ominae did.

I raced back through the rooms, trying to stay a foot ahead of my Spriggan bodyguard. Eventually I made it to the room with the chests, and I hid as Ominae went about tearing through them. Something in my pocket vibrated, and I reached down to find Ominae's communicator. It was Jean.

"Jean, Ominae's gone all crazy and I can't stop him."

Jean might have said something, but I don't know what. In the next second Ominae was there, flipping over my cover and grabbing me around the waist. I dropped the communicator and struggled against him. He started to pull me back to the room where the man was waiting, and I just knew that the reunion was not going to be a pleasant one.

    12. Becoming An Agent

      by , 09-16-2010 at 02:44 PM
(This dream was really long, it felt like.)

I was in what was like a small mall, and everything was closing down. My sister was with me, and we were stoked to go inside of this booth that had flashy lights, black lights, and some really heavy metal, but when I turned the corner, it was all off - in fact, it wasn't even THERE. My sister told me that there was no booth, and I'd been imagining things. I quickly dropped the subject because I didn't want her thinking that I was going to go crazy.

But then other things started to change, and I soon found myself in a world where everything was okay one moment and completely gone the next. And then there were people watching me.

I watched a man sprint down a road and murder two people before the police took him down. I was walking home with my friend after the event, secretly wondering if he was a hit man, and there was somebody waiting in her apartment. He grabbed something out of her purse, and she pulled something out of her pocket - her cellphone and mace. She sprayed the guy.

She called 911 while I charged him, and he flipped me over his shoulder. I dug my elbow into the sensitive side of his neck, and he released me, unzipped his hoodie and glared at me.

"Let's get serious, then." He snarled, coming for me again -

But my alarm clock was kind enough to wake me up then.

(Was a two-part dream. Woke up again in the middle of the night - I really need to stop that. It makes me feel groggy when I wake up.)

Through the first part of my dream, I was helping my friend try to find something he needed for school. After showing him some of my old stuff I was trying to get rid of, he did find it, just not in the right color. So we go to this gigantic bookstore, and I quickly find myself distracted by rows upon rows upon rows of books. . . The ultimate daydream.

I asked the cashier for a specific book, but quickly ignored that and simply went into the sheleves to find books that I might like instead. All of the titales looked amazing, the cover art was great, and I wanted to buy every single one of those books and read them. I didn't have the time, unfortunately. Or the money.

I woke up shortly after I'd purchased a book I'd already been reading - something about a video game, as I recall.

      -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The second dream involved a gigantic group of superheroes there. Flash, Superman, Wonder Woman - they were all there. Some my own mind created. They were arguing about the destruction done to one of their planets and who had been the cause of that calamity. I was standing on my front porch, kind of just watching the action flicker from one person to the next, and several times I had to try and convince myself not to facepalm.

And then I did, because the arguement deteriorated into, "who has the best animals."

And so they bring forth Earth dogs - my dogs - and the alien dogs. It just so happened that it happened to be a copy of my golden retriever, Sammy. They were so alike, I couldn't tell the difference. But as I stopped and petted all of the dogs as they argued, I realized the alien dog was slimmer than mine, and with a different collar. But as I smiled and extended my hands towards him, though, I swear I saw a little bit of a smile on the dogs face.

      Then I woke up.

    14. Crystal Dragon

      by , 08-24-2010 at 07:22 PM
I remember vaguely that I was holding a crystal in my hand, and for some reason I knew that it held power inside of it. I wasn't quite sure how, but it did. I was with my younger brother, and we were exploring a very interesting place, filled to the brims with crystals that were easily over ten feet tall. There were many of them, dotted around the trail we walked upon.

He ran ahead of me, I don't know why, but then I heard water splash. Something flashed across my vision, and suddenly he was thrashing in the water and screaming for help as one of the crystals turned into a dragon and began to try and drown him. I ran to the edge of the water, but I couldn't go in - the dragon was whipping its tail at me and preventing me from going into the water.

The crystal I was holding jumped out of my hand and hit the edge of the water, and turned into a beautiful blue and silver dragon. It attacked the dragon trying to kill my brother, and defeated it. As it pulled my brother to shore, I remember staring at it, with tears in my eyes. It had gotten hurt, and it was tired. I was about to try and hug it or touch it in some way when I woke up.

    15. Winx Club.

      by , 08-16-2010 at 06:34 AM
((Well, it's official. I've finally had a Winx Club dream, though for some reason, I've found I can never fly correctly unless I'm lucid. Sometimes in dreams when I'm "running" away from something or the like, I manage to nudge myself a little higher, but eh. Maybe I can work on becoming more and more lucid. ))

This was more of a dream fragment than anything, but I remember one of the fairies was zipping about, looking pleased and happy with herself because she was just all that and a bag of chips. I asked her if she'd show me how to transform and use my magic, but she stuck her nose up at me and just basically said, "I don't have the time to waste on you."

I got angry, and stormed off, determined to show her I could do it all on my own - and be even better than she was. So I closed my eyes and I concentrated really, really hard, and this power came exploding up out of nowhere, encompassing me and indeed triggering a transformation. My hair was waist-length and pinned back, my body covered by a deep amethyst-colored dress of sorts. Except I didn't have the wings. The girl laughed at me, telling me I looked ridiculous without wings.

So I proved to her I could have them.

I did this by jumping off a cliff, telling myself I could fly.

The wings sprouted from my backside, an even darker color than my dress and looking just like spun sugar. I did try to fly - and I succeeded after a try or two, but I was fluttering back to the ground before I knew it, having exhausted my new wings and I was immensely tired. I woke up.
