Non-Lucid Dreams
The night prior, I had a dream about superheroes. And then there was a tall skyscraper, and I put some of the windows out with my mind from a distance. Then I was caught in a huge wave, that was rocking me back and forth with each surge, but even though I was immersed in it I did not drown. There was a really old guy who was supposed to be a villain. Last night I dreamed I was on IRC, only IRC was set up more like an image board. Anyway, I found a channel I liked that was full of a bunch of other gamers and role players. There was a kid on there obsessed with Yu Gi Oh to a really annoying degree who kept challenging me to fake "fights", and then cheating terribly. I commented that he was taking an awful lot of Free Actions (for some reason we were playing by 3.5 Edition Dungeons & Dragons rules) and then beat him up with a pair of giant stuffed foam thumbs. A toy he was using as a prop to fight with exploded into a bunch of glass beads, and then he turned into a kitten. I felt bad about wrecking his toy and being so mean to a little kid/kitten, so I picked up the toy (it looked like a doll head, only made out of beads) and began trying to repair it.
I dreamed I was at a pizza place... sort of. There were children who spoke Old English learning modern English with some sort of weird alphabet system, and machines that made snowballs, and everybody was having snowball fights. Then I went into the school, which became a pizza place. Then I was at a coffee/tea shop that only served tea that was friendly to your kidneys and had a lot of info on kidney health and which teas were good or bad for you. I had a string hanging from my mouth that was attached to my gums somehow, or part of them. I wanted to pull it off but was afraid I'd hurt myself and it would hurt. The pizza/tea place had tables with umbrellas, even if it was inside, so I stole one and dragged it outside. I was in kind of a strip mall place. I went out to the bus stop but it was pouring, so I dragged my table/umbrella with me. The bus was already passing as I was getting to the stop, so I waved my arms and yelled so the bus driver would see me. As I stepped onto the bus, I became lucid. I didn't do much in this lucid except practice maintaining lucidity. I sat down and looked around and reminded myself to remain aware. The dream was going in and out of focus - sometimes it would be clear, sometimes it would be blurry with little detail. I practiced bringing the DCs around me into focus and was able to give some of them faces. There was a youngish asian kid and a grandmother with a young boy. I practiced changing my own clothes (I changed into a red polka dotted bikini). I tried to summon Robert Downey, Jr. but was unable. Mostly, I just rode the bus around and worked on staying aware. When I felt things fading, I would periodically remind myself to stay aware. I think this whole thing lasted 15-20 minutes of me just riding the bus around. I made it day and watched light shine through the windows and cast shapes on the floor... then I made it night again, then I made it rain. I woke up in a puddle of drool. I guess I was concentrating a bit too hard... haha
I started some new medication last night that I was a bit worried about... I'd been on similar medication in the past, and it caused me to stop dreaming entirely. This was not the case with the new medication, though. I dreamed plenty I wasn't lucid, but I think in the back of my mind, I had some idea I was dreaming, because the whole time I was thinking, "This is the nerdiest thing ever": I dreamed I was in some sort of... mountainous, forested region. There was a train running through there. Anyway, Goku from DragonBallZ showed up and we were fighting the forces of evil together... there was a team of "good guys" who were all women and their names were themed on colors of the rainbow (and matched their hair). Color coded for your convenience. There was also a team of villains who were named after seasons.
I dreamed I was playing an Elder Scrolls game, but it was weird because it looked like it was running on Skyrim's engine but it wasn't Skyrim. The landscape was more of a sub-tropical landscape, and the building designs were a lot different. The graphics were actually better in some ways, though. I was going through a forest city and there was a brown building with 2 levels and a peaked roof, made out of wood surrounded by vegetation, it looked more Bosmer-y than anything... Then I was working on some 3-d modeling, I was modding the game, trying to adjust the sizes and proportions of some of the models without screwing up the animations or having it do weird stuff in the engine. Then the dream shifted, and I was inside of one of the brown buildings, only the inside looked like a department store, and I was basically window-shopping. I was on the second floor (decorating stuff, bed linens, etc), thinking about heading into the basement to look at furniture. I was trying to get ideas for bedding, towels, interior decorating... etc., going through different designs and fabrics for duvet covers and towels, and unable to decide if I ought to go with blue, green, purple, or a warmer color... I liked some of the floral patterns, some of the others were tacky. I thought about taking pictures of them with my phone so I could think about it later, but figured that by the time I had money to buy anything, the store would have already changed their inventory.
Had a dream, kinda... Austin Powers style, I guess? But I don't remember much. Then I was part of a group of spies who were trying to infiltrate an office. We got seen by someone there but they assumed I was a supervisor (I was one person and a group of people at the same time). Then their boss called a meeting and we were recognized as spies. And the boss turned out to be... Hitler. No kidding. I was going to try to kill him, but... Then it shifted to a group of people trying to infiltrate a place, and they were trying to infiltrate a blood elf camp or something. I was subconsciously changing the buildings because they did not look blood elfy enough. There were several members, and one of them was kind of a ladies' man who was embarrassed that it got found out that he'd set up a date with a superior officer's daughter, who was somehow also Rarity from My Little Pony (yes... a pony). After that, I was running out of some sort of office complex, only it was more like an industrial building, lots of concrete. I then fully realized that I was dreaming, but it was dark and rainy outside where I was. I looked at my hands, rubbed them together, tried running them along a concrete pillar... I wanted to do a scene change (I was trying to get to an Inn) so I tried to see a light in the distance, but then everything went black. I tried closing and opening my dream-eyes, but it was still black. I began flailing my arms around and every time I moved I heard a sound like the bell on a cat collar. Then I lapsed back into non-lucidity.
#1 - First, I dreamed about... it was weird, some kind of Batman-like character, in his "Bruce Wayne" mode. I was hanging out with him and some other people in a restaurant who were supposed to be friends. We had a few drinks, got up to go - I thought one of them had left their coat, wallet, and keys, but it was actually someone else's coat, so I had to go place it back on the seat where I found it. Then we went outside. We were on some kind of structure in the middle of the ocean, and it was super stormy. It was raining, and the wind was blowing hard. The deck we were on (more like a balcony than a ship) had extremely slick tiles on it, and I started sliding across them because I was wearing heels. I fell over but couldn't get a grip on them either, I was hanging off of the edge by my fingernails and yelling for help, terrified of being swept out to sea, but everybody else - who didn't seem to be having any trouble staying upright and in place on the deck - wasn't listening to me. Bruce Wayne dude now looks like a combination of Eddard Stark and Aragorn and is giving some kind of speech, but I can't really hear him above the wind. Dream rewound before I got swept out to sea. Now I'm hanging onto a pillar. We return home, everybody goes to bed but we're all in the same bed, it's just weird. #2 - I have a farm. It's more like a video game, and a really glitchy one at that. I'm trying to gather wool from all of my sheep but for some reason, when I try to take them outside, the game glitches out and replaces them with Redwood trees. I'm trying to expand the farm and dig irrigation ditches, I have 2 cows but the game is glitchy and won't let me put them in the barn, and I'm irritated that now my vegetable field is full of redwood trees.
#1 - I dream that I am playing a new sort of MMO. Gameplay wise, it functions more like a side-scroller, but it looks a lot like World of Warcraft. Guild recruitment in it is really weird - if you're unaffiliated and somebody defeats you in battle, they can force you to join their Guild. It sucks, because I end up in a Guild full of jerks that I really don't like. Another thing is that once you enter certain sections of a stage or a boss battle, you can't back out of it, and you're severely penalized for attempting to leave or dying. My teammates all think I suck because I'm low-level and new to the game. #2 - My family is eating at a diner, like Steak & Shake. I see an older woman sitting with what appears to be a newborn baby and a little girl. I smile at her. She starts a conversation with me, asking me what I do for a living and things of that nature. To be polite, I answer and ask how old the baby is. She starts talking about the baby. I thought she was its grandmother but she is actually its mother. When we go home, she comes with us, bringing the baby with. She hangs out all night long and never stops talking. I notice that something is really weird with the baby. Its skin looks wrong and tight and its face looks weird, more like a doll; the more I look at it, the more it looks like a roast pig, except for the face, which looks like one of those creepy shrunken heads. It never really moves or cries. I ask her if her baby is o.k. She waves me off and says it will be fine. At maybe 5 a.m., she asks us for a ride home. It turns out that she lives a whole city away. I manage to wake up my uncle and talk him into driving, because my sleep deprivation and medication has made me unable to drive. We drive through the mountains for maybe an hour and a half, and the sun comes up. The woman lives in kind of a run down green house on the edge of a lake. It becomes apparent that the baby is sick and might die, but she doesn't really seem to care. We drop her off and wave goodbye. I'm glad to be rid of her. I guess I should have had a clue that this was a dream, because my uncle was actually nice to me. On the highway, he pulls the car over and asks me to look at the mountains. I do so. He tells me to look in a specific direction, and I do. He says that in that direction is a major temple, and I might be able to see its outline against the sky. I look harder, and my dream-vision zooms in, and I can just barely see the temple. He says something to the effect of, when I don't feel good, to look in that direction and try to find it. I wake up.
Current Supplements: Fish oil 1000mg 2x/day B complex w/ Folic Acid and Vitamin C 2x/day Vitamin D3 1000iu 2x/day Techniques: ADA/mindfulness Night before last: I dreamed my ex boyfriend and I piloted steam-powered mechs across a post apocalyptic desert landscape, think Fallout New Vegas style. At one point, we stopped at a ruined rest stop. Last night: 1. I was in a crowd in a movie theater like setting. It was very crowded and I was trying to find a seat without disrupting peoples' view of the show. It wasn't dark, though - the seats were all outdoors. The theater became stadium-like. I was moving through a large crowd. The dream became blurry, and then I was hovering over the crowd and the building, which was amphitheater like with a strange roof-like structure that had muticolored terra-cotta tiles. I suddenly realized that I was flying, which caused me to realize that I was dreaming. All of the colors intensified as I mentally ramped up the vividness of the dream. There were sparkling, vividly hued, multicolored chunks of glass and shiny black, hard pieces of coal suspended in the air around me. I was carrying a stack of tax forms and medical paperwork. As soon as I realized I was dreaming, I tossed them into the crowd below. I watched the hundreds of papers flutter to the earth like falling leaves, glad to have let them go. I reached up and grasped a shiny black chunk of coal. It was smooth and hard, and despite being black, it shimmered. I brought both hands together and imagined immense pressure and heat. I imagined that the entire universe was exerting pressure on it. The coal between my hands began to feel hot. I opened my hands. The coal had fused somewhat into a yellow piece of glass, but it wasn't a diamond yet. I wasn't bothered by this - it was a process, after all. I closed my hands, pressed them together around the coal/glass, and imagined the immense pressure and heat again. I imagined that all of existence was compressing around this single object. The dream rippled around me. I heard a sound like a shock-wave, or sub-bass. I opened my hands and looked again. There was an almond-shaped yellow diamond in my hands, roughly the size of an egg. The surface was polished and smooth, and I could see into the translucent diamond and see all of the facets and the inner structure of the diamond catching the light. I gently released it and it rose into the air, joining the suspended pieces of coal and shards of glass, sparkling brilliantly in the sunlight. I woke up. For whatever reason, I just wasn't excited about what I'd done! I just rolled over and went back to sleep... d'oh. I dreamed that I was petting a tiger. It had been brought over to my apartment by a different ex-boyfriend. Its stripes were made of paint, and they got all over me.

I dreamed I lived in an apartment in a high rise, but still had the same roommates. The apartment was very dark the whole time, and the entire dream was oddly colorless. I wasn't feeling well, so my roommate offered me a smoke. We smoked out on the balcony for few minutes. The apartment had several balconies that I recall, and one had a couch on it. I got my blanket and pillow and went to sleep on the couch. While I was sleeping, my roommate walked up to the couch chanting "murder or torture"... I pretended to stay asleep, hoping she was just messing with me but not sure. I very vividly felt something rustling the comforter. Finally I gave in to the anxiety and opened my eyes. When I opened my eyes in the dream, I opened them in real life and woke up. Since this is a common problem I have with accidentally ending lucids, I believe I subconsciously knew it would end the nightmare. The waking was quite abrupt, though, and I was confused for a few moments. The anxiety was immediately gone as soon as I woke up, however.
Took Nyquail prior to bed because I am having a lot of trouble sleeping and my sinuses hurt. I have been taking fish oil, vitamin B complex, and vitamin D. The dreams I had were very vivid. I was running away from a group of people. I don't know why. I was with a parent, although I don't remember them clearly; they were not one of my parents from real life. Eventually, I think they got caught, but I was still free. I was in some sort of super large apartment complex. I came across a playground and decided the slide would make good cover for hiding in. It was a weird thing with 4 slides all connected in the center, no ladder, and a "lookout" tower on the top which was sort of a solid tube with holes in it. The only way to get up it was to climb up a slide. I am not lucid but I control reality somewhat without understanding what I'm doing. The bad guys naturally know the slide is somewhere I'd hide. They climb up the slide. I crawl vertically up the lookout tube, hoping I can hide above them and they won't look up. They do. I cause the slide to become super slick so they lose their traction and slide back down. I know this isn't going to work in the long run so I rewind to earlier (before I hid in the slide) and choose a different route. Instead of hiding in the slide, I run through a bunch of brambles and heavy bushes and brush, making myself insubstantial enough to not be slowed down by them, while the people chasing me have to stop and fight their way through. It works. I get to a high school. The dream shifts. I'm now one of many kids in the school. My class is full of normal kids, and one kid who is an elf or an alien or something. I'm also some kind of space-elf or whatever. We never go home; we all sleep in our classroom on little cots. In the dream, I am waking up. I took a nap or something on my cot. For some reason, I'm completely naked and I feel overheated. (I have been having some issues with a sudden fever/overheating at night so I highly suspect that I actually felt really hot in real life) and apparently, I tore off all of my clothes in my sleep (I have also done this in real life). The sensation in this dream is extremely vivid. I can feel the fever on my face and the sweat on my skin. More distinct is the feeling of being completely naked and sheets moving over my skin. When I woke up from the dream, I was fully clothed and nothing in my room had been disturbed - normally, reality would intrude at this point in a dream and even though dream logic tells me I am naked I can still feel my clothes on my sleeping body. It would have been a cue to lucidity. This dream was so vivid, however, that it overrode that. I don't care about being naked, I just get up and dress myself. The other space-elf-whatever is embarrassed for me, though. We're all supposed to go to some sort of formal dance or prom later, we've all got dresses and formal clothes and stuff. There is a mental flash of being there and dancing and then I'm back in the classroom, understanding that that's supposed to happen in the future. We head outside for gym class. New dream. I am riding a bus. I'm riding it with my mom or... somebody. All of the bus stops are old houses and apartments that I used to live in. I am supposed to stop at one specific apartment but I don't want to, so I don't pull the wire. Mom doesn't either - she either forgets or expects me to. She complains that we'll have to walk farther to get there now. I don't intend to walk back at all, though. We get off at a stop that's sort of like a strip mall. Mom wants to go shopping. I've been looking through job listings, and there is a job at an airport nearby carting luggage around and retrieving heavy luggage for people. I decide that I don't want it. Shift. I am in a hotel room. I'm waiting for a friend there. There are advertisements on the TV. There's some sort of phone/remote control that lets you select TV programs and order room service. One of the specials is some kind of dinosaur show and a special bed they will bring up to your room. I don't want that; I just want to go to sleep, but I fall asleep with the remote and roll over it, pushing a bunch of buttons. I wake up worried that I may have inadvertantly ordered something, and there is a message for me. I play the message and listen; the guy talking on the other end sounds like Captain Sisko from Star Trek. It's just an advertisement for their stupid dinosaur show thing (which is for families with kids anyway). I wake up.
Nothing interesting. Dreamed I was working at a restaurant/pizza place waiting tables... or I was supposed to be, anyway. Instead, I was messing around with my laptop and webcam and trying not to get caught goofing off. I came up with a recipe for Spaghetti Carbonera which became the house special, and I had very specific instructions for cooking it that I passed on to the rest of the cooks.
#1 - Dreamed about houses. Creepy houses that bothered me for some reason. The house we were in had a pool in the back that looked like a grave, and was full of black water. For some reason, the woman I was living with in the dream drove her ancient beater car into the pool to sink it. #2 - Dreamed about a girl who looked like Bella from Twilight (I hate Twilight). She was out in the wilderness with a group of other people, they were riding horses. Somebody attacked them, possibly stole some of their horses. An enormously fat gross guy, who had been a member of their group before and smelled awful, showed up on horseback and stole the remaining horse. He was pissed off at the girl because earlier he'd been walking with the group with his shirt off, but his back was really gross and had boils all over it, and she had yelled at him to put some damn clothes on. Anyway, she did locate another horse that had run off into the brush, but didn't have a saddle, so she had to improvise and ride without a saddle. Then - same character, different setting - she and some other people are trying to get bikes out of a... grotto thing. It's a cave with a vertical shaft and a ramp and there are bikes hidden in there. Getting them up and out is tricky since the bottom of the cave has been flooded and they don't have any ropes or pulleys to work with.
Practices: ADA, RRC, WILD Pre-bed: small piece of chicken and a cup of apple juice. My stomach hurt pretty badly last night (unrelated to the food). Set my intent for lucid goals (taste something, crush a rock into a diamond, go eat lunch with some friends). #1 - It's snowy and I think I may be a little kid. I'm not sure. I live in an arctic environment. My house is made of wood and snow. We might be fighting someone - I don't remember. I remember something about bosses (as in, video game bosses) and people hiding underneath the snow that would pop up and attack you. Woke up. My stomach still hurts. Used the bathroom. #2 - I am in a check-out line chatting with another person in line. We're talking about Grand Theft Auto. I'm telling him about a mod someone made where you basically drive around as Simba from The Lion King. You don't have hands or anything, you just drive around the city as a lion. During the dream, I think it's hysterical because I'm imagining all the reactions people would have to a lion just chilling in a convertible at a stop light. I wake up. I have to use the bathroom, and my stomach still hurts. I lie back down and begin WILD techniques. This WILD, I did not have any HI and I did not feel the onset of REM atonia. I used to but it seems like lately I just don't pay attention or filter it out. I don't continue repeating my mantra while making a serious attempt at WILD because it actually distracts me too much. Sometimes I visualize and sometimes I don't, depending on how much I feel it's distracting rather than helping. This morning, I did not visualize. I get a "lapse" in the middle of my WILD where I feel like I do lose lucidity, but my mind is so alert for any kind of dreams or dreamlets that as soon as a dream starts it will grab my attention again. So I actually do zone out for a while during most of my successful WILDs and I feel like it's why they're successful - you actually have to let your mind wander and dream to have a dream in the first place. A "flash" catches my attention - a brief but super-clear and fully formed dreamlet. Normally they shock me awake because they come with zero warning - it instantly goes from blackness to a fully-formed landscape. Since I've been working on not letting them startle me, though, I was able to 'grab' this one: I am in a basement bedroom of some sort. It's very clean, with white walls. I'm standing on the bed. There is a small window high above me that is letting sunlight in. The window frame is made of dark wood. I bounce up and down on the bed, peering out of the window. It is a brilliant fall day outside and the trees are vivid red and orange. There are leaves all over the ground; some dried and brown, others still brightly colored. I haul myself through the window frame, ignoring the glass and making it insubstantial. Even though it ought to be too small for me to fit through, I still manage to wriggle through it. The sunlight is super bright and temporarily blinds me with a lense-flare effect as I haul myself out of the window well. "LEEEEAAAAAAVES!" I crow triumphantly and plow into a pile of red and orange leaves. I roll around in them, kicking my legs and sending a whirlwind of leaves all over the place. I flop my arms around in them and rub my face in them. I remember my lucid goal and begin enthusiastically shoving leaves into my mouth. They are very thin and papery and taste like stale crackers, with a hint of glue. I sit up and spit out a mouthful of leaves. I wake up. My lucid self cracks me up sometimes. I'm in complete control of my faculties, but I'm so enthusiastic about absolutely everything.

I am in an old apartment, the one we lived in when I was in high school. I dream that I have 3 pet hamsters. I only meant to buy 2, and the 3rd one is very small and snuck in with the others. They're very bitey and nip at my fingers whenever I try to handle them. 2 are typical "golden" hamsters, and one is a mottled tortoise shell color. I have placed them in a cage I purchased, but the cage seems to have come without doors, so they simply keep crawling out of the cage. I finally locate the door for the cage, but it's very dented and doesn't close properly. In addition to this, the cage has little "windows" (gaps in the bars) and they just squeeze out through there. I'm worried since I don't want a hamster population explosion in the apartment complex. I wake up. I try to WILD but the kids next door are being super loud, which is obnoxious since it's about 7:00 in the morning. I am in a Dwarven city. I am incorporeal, simply watching the dream. The city is a network of underground tunnels, many of them lined with thousands of polished gemstones that reflect the torch light. The gemstones become more numerous and precious in the tunnels that lead to the houses of the wealthier citizens. There are also a few Hobbits who live here. Many of the tunnels converge in caverns, which have shops and restaurants and markets. I follow a character who's a hobbit. He's supposed to be an idiot. He's running around inside of the dwarf tunnels frantically looking for someone. There are areas of the complex that are specifically off-limits to him because he caused so much trouble... specifically the home of a very wealthy hobbit whom he caused a lot of grief. He's running around and being disruptive again. Dream shifts - either it's a new dream or there's a huge break in the narrative. 2 men are trying to canoe across a freezing cold lake. For some reason, they're naked. The canoe tips and they end up falling into the lake, which is super cold. One of the guys tips the canoe back over and the water inside instantly freezes. He climbs into the canoe and starts digging the ice out of it with a shovel. The other guy is still treading water in the lake, complaining about the cold; the guy in the canoe tells him to wait and take deep breaths, he's trying to empty the canoe out. Mikasan, here is approximately half of an answer to "what was the treasure" for you. This dream was definitely non-lucid, but it looks like the Dwarves still had my treasure map... haha. Apparently, the treasure was a cure for a rare disease: Scene shift... 2 Dwarves are searching for something that seems very important to them. They have a map. One of them looks like Lokmin, from a prior lucid dream. What they're searching for is apparently a huge cliff above a lake... there was supposed to be an inscription on it, but the stones have eroded and fallen into the lake. They have to fish the stones out of the lake and try to piece them back into place. The portions of the inscription that they can make out alludes to some kind of cure for a disease... something about "the king was the single one I could cure". They need to know what the cure was, which the inscription is supposed to talk about, if they can find the pieces. While Lokmin is dangling from the cliff face, one of the pieces crumbles and falls on top of him (it would have weighed several hundred pounds) and he tumbles into the lake with the slab of stone. I never went lucid or found out what the cure was. I hope poor Lokmin's alright!
Prior to bed, I had 2 margaritas and a daiquiri... I'm not shocked that my attempts last night were unsuccessful and my dream recall was terrible. I went to bed focusing on the idea of awareness and lucidity. I focused specifically on the goal of meeting some friends for lunch at an inn in a fairly stable setting I visit (it is often where I wind up when I succeed at a WILD attempt). One of my other lucid goals was to go to a concert with a different friend of mine. I did not go lucid, but focusing on my goals was not entirely fruitless. In the non-lucid dream that followed, I DID meet up with some family friends for lunch. Lunch was in some sort of fast-food restaurant. For some reason, I couldn't stand the idea of ordering food; normally, I love french fries but for some reason in this dream, the thought of eating one made my stomach turn! I think that while I was asleep, I may have actually felt ill from the alcohol I ingested and reacted to the in-dream (very vivid) smell of french fries with actual nausea. Instead, I went and got a slushie from the slushie machine... a blue raspberry slushie. The whole restaurant had kind of an "outer space" theme to it. I woke up briefly. I had set my intention to not move between dreams but EVERY TIME I woke up last night, I moved and then thought "d'oh!". I attempted a WILD but without success and lapsed into non-lucidity. I was in a car with a friend and her teenaged daughter. We were driving down a highway in Nebraska, trying to find a restaurant... so we could go to lunch. Haha. The dream got a little blurry. We stopped at a truck stop that turned out to be kind of like a... club? My friend and the daughter disappeared once I went into the club. Instead, they were replaced by my friends A_ and two other "friends" I have never met in real life. All of us were wearing baggy, colorful animal-themed footie pajamas that looked kind of like animal costumes. The darker-skinned guy was wearing a costume that looked like a blue alligator... I don't remember what A_ was wearing... and I was wearing a big fuzzy rabbit costume or something. The whole environment felt like a combination of a comic book convention and a rave. We went to the roof of the club, which had become kind of a skyscraper thing. To get up there you rode an escalator but it had been designed by a crazy artist so that it became so steep that everybody going up to the top had to support each other so they could even stay on the thing. Then you were supposed to get back to the ground floor on a giant slide. At the top there were several bands playing in kind of a "battle of the bands", including 3 identical-looking guys with acoustic guitars and huge puffy hairdos who were playing some stuff that sounded kind of like... I dunno... acoustic Linkin Park? Anyway, they lost the battle and their reaction was to start sobbing and then jump over the railing of the roof and fall to their deaths (they were 5 stories up). I saw this in slow motion from outside of the club. For some reason, at the time I thought the whole thing was hilarious.
