    Lighten up, Captain Picard!

    Locutus of Borg

I am in a restaraunt somewhere, with my buddies from the Enterprise. I am one of the crew, I guess, but at the same time I know that Star Trek is a TV show. I have been away for a few days, and return to find that Captain Picard has been captured by the Borg, and rescued in my absence.

"Aww man," I say, "I always miss the Locutus episode. Well, I'll have to catch it the next time around. Now, let's see, if they show one episode a night, how many nights will it take to get through the whole series and back to Locutus?"

Captain Picard is sitting across the room glaring at me. "Hey Locutus!" I say, "how many episodes did you guys make?"

"This isn't anything to joke about," says Picard. "The Borg are a real threat, whether you think so or not." He proceeds to lecture me on the seriousness of our encounters with the Borg.

"Aww come on, Picard," I laugh, "lighten up, man! How come your so serious all the time? Can't you joke about anything?"

    Books

I am somewhere. I come across a bookstore. I guess it isn't usually open, but it is now so I go in to look around. I am thinking about buying an EReader, or I have one. Still, I want to look at the paper books too. There are room after room of books. In fact, it seems to be a flea market of all books, with multiple sellers in one building. I decide to look for the last of the Myst books - the Book of D'ni.

I go into the first bookstore and look through the science fiction/fantasy section. No luck. I go into the second bookstore.

"May I help you?" says the salesperson.
"Yes," I say, "I'm looking for the Book of D'ni. It's one of the Myst series."
"Well," she says, "if we had the book, it would be over here."

No luck over here either. I keep on looking.
