    What am I Doing Wrong?

Title: What am I Doing Wrong? :( Date: 10/28/2010
Category: Deep Relaxation Lucidity: Not Lucid

    Keywords: Relaxed, Heavy, Energized, Cold

Description: I set an alarm to wake me up at 02:30. Instead of getting up and going into the other bedroom where I usually set my lucid dream timer, I stayed where I was. I used no timer. I did my relaxation exercises, putting my body into paralysis. My body felt like a ton of bricks. I was totally relaxed, felt like I was barely breathing. My body felt like it was going thru cycles, energized...cold, energized...cold. I did not see anything, I was in total darkness. I then opened my eyes slowly and did a reality check....not lucid. I then closed my eyes and tried to let my mind wander....Nothing. Disappointed, I rolled over and went to sleep.

Well, I've tried the relaxation exercises several times to and still no sucess. I have lots of DILDs but no WILDS. I lay on my back, don't move for what seem to be hours, until feeling my body super-heavy and lots of discomfort. I also feel extremely cold sometimes and I also go through cycles. But my cycles are of relaxation and then (when I am almost falling asleep) of a sudden rush of excitement which brings me back to awake. And I can go through these cycles endlessly all night. At some point I just give up and also turn around and sleep normally. But I think it's not because we're doing anything wrong. It's just not a technique that works well for us. I believe I will eventually master it if I keep trying. A few more sleepless nights and I will eventually no longer feel that rush of excitement but simply enter lucid into sleep. Don't expect quick results even if others obtain it.
Just one suggestion: don't open your eyes. If you enter sleep and if you find yourself in darkness for some time before any images come up, you will never need to open your eyes, images will pop up anyway. It's dream, remember? You don't need to open your eyes to see a dream. Even if you have an OBE experience, it will surely happen without you needing to open your "astral" eyes. If you need to open your eyes to see something, that means you're awake! No need for other RC!
