Fragment of Dreams
I didn't get much sleep and all I can remember from last night's dream is a small fragment. I was walking through the Back 40's at night and listening to some smooth jazz on my iPod. I had a joint in my hand and I was about to light it but someone called my name so I paused. I saw Devon walking towards me and he was saying something but I wasn't listening. I realized I was dreaming (since Devon was killed in real life) and immediately began practising my air-bending like they do on that show Avatar: The Last Airbender (which is a surprisingly good show btw). I'm getting pretty good at it, I can make small tornadoes and change the temperature of the wind now, but I'm still having a little trouble with flying. I can only get a few feet off the ground, if I try to go higher, I just fall down and usually end up hurting myself. Still, I'm improving so I guess I just need to keep practising.
The only thing I can remember from last night is a small fragment. It was a really hot day and I was sweating so I took my shirt off to try and cool myself down. I was walking through an unfamiliar neighborhood and I decided to go to find a corner store or gas station where I could buy a slushy from. I heard someone call my name from behind and saw Devon on his bike. At first I was confused when I saw him and thought about doing a reality check. It was unlikely that he'd be talking to me in real life since he had been stabbed to death about a month ago in the parking lot of the high school we graduated from. He told me he had just picked up a sack, asked if I wanted to share a blunt, and was saying a couple of us should get together later that night so by this point I decided I'd rather not do a reality check. He then asked me a question but I didn't hear him clearly so I asked him to repeat it. Before he could do so, the dream had destabilized and I was awake.
Fragments: Non-lucid: There was a rollercoaster in my backyard and all of my cousins and friends were over for some sort of party. We hopped in the seats and rode the rollercoaster for a few minutes before I hopped off to grab a sandwich. I hope back in with sandwich in hand ate while on the ride. A loop-de-loop was coming up and someone noticed that something was wrong with the track. As soon as we reached the top of the loop-de-loop, the cart came off the tracks and we fell. I got out of the ride and went for a walk. ----- Lucid: I was running from a DC that kept chasing me. I was lucid and I tried to tell him to leave but he ignored me. I tried killing him but no matter how many times I snapped his neck or stabbed him, he got back up. I tried to change the setting and tone of the dream by the Winter Wrap Up song from MLP: FiM (sounds ridiculous, I know, but it usually does the trick in nightmares). It worked for a few seconds (night became day, friendly DC's appeared, etc) but then the other DC came back and throw me to the ground. He kicked and stomped on me a couple times and then tried strangling me. I tried fighting back but I couldn't so I just laid there pathetically flailing my arms while he beat me. It was pretty painful, especially when he started stomping on my stomach but there wasn't anything I could do about. It last a while too, most of the time I wake up quickly if I'm in pain but this beating seemed to last forever. I eventually woke up when the phone rang. I felt a little sore for a few minutes upon awakening. ----- Non-lucid: My cousin and I had just shared a blunt and we decided to go to this bakery that was close by. Once inside, he went off to buy some food and I ran into Erin (a friend of mine). She was telling me something about her little sister but stopped once she spotted her ex. She wanted to leave so we stepped out, my cousin came out soon after and he had a tray full of cookies, cupcakes, muffins, etc. I grabbed a cupcake that kept changing colors and offered Erin another but she wasn't hungry. Not sure what happened next but I remember we ended up in an airport soon after. I can't remember the rest of the dream. ----- Semi-lucid: I was on DV and I posted a link to a song I like (Demons Surround Me) but anderj101 said he didn't like it at all. He then called me a faggot and logged out. I tried to reply but someone had locked the thread already. It didn't seem like something anderj101 would post so I did an RC by counting my fingers and realized I was dreaming. I was about to go explore the dreamscape but I got distracted by a new private message. I woke up before I could read it.

I took a nap this evening and had a dream that was grotesquely gory (yet strangely beautiful [in a sense]). I was pretty much watching myself tear through my flesh with a gun (a MAC-10 I beleive? Idk, something automatic) and then eventually dying once I was nothing more than a mound of sopping flesh. Not nearly as pretty a sight as it sounds, I assure you. The dream then went on and kind of showed me a "what if" and gave me a rundown of various things I was missing out on now that I was dead. The dream ended with me and this girl that I'm almost, kinda, sorta, not really but in a sense I am with in real life. I think. Yeah... I don't get it either. I get the feeling like I'm "just a friend" but then there are times where it seems like it's more than that. As if she wasn't hard enough to read already, now there's this other guy that she kind of seems to have a thing for as well. Oh god, what if I'm one of those pathetic saps that don't realize they're being strung along... Does this mean I have to start laughing at myself now? D: It's complicated and you probably don't even care so I'm not going to go into it any further. Anyways, the dream replayed my first kiss which was with her a while back. Not the most pleasant dream I've had, rather disturbing actually, but I enjoyed it nonetheless because of the rush of relief that followed when I woke up.

I woke up today some time around 5:00 AM, got a glass of water, and went back to bed. The dream began with me walking down a street near my house. As I was walking, I saw some kid having trouble with his bike so I decided to give him a hand. While doing so, I noticed him wearing a digital watch that read 99:99. It struck me as odd so I did a reality check by counting the fingers on my hands, I had all 10 but one was shorter than it should have been so I knew I was dreaming. Once I became lucid, I began to swing around the city like Spiderman for a while. Didn't do much else but it was fun nonetheless. I kept letting go, intentionally free-falling, and then swinging away at the last second before hitting the ground. Way better than any rollercoaster I've ever been on. I eventually woke up and then went back to sleep. I'm not sure what happened prior to this but I remember being in a big argument with my sister. I tried to keep my cool but I eventually lost it and started yelling. She kept laughing while I yelled, annoying me even more. I'm not sure what I said but she eventually gave me an odd look and I could tell she was about to cry. I shut up for a few seconds and tried to apologize but I woke up before I could. I wasn't lucid during this dream.

*Originally posted here* Lately I've been seeing a fox (or maybe multiple foxes, they all look the same to me ) a lot in my dreams. It's a bit of a long read so bear with me. When I become lucid, while doing whatever it is I do in my LDs, I tend to keep an eye out for crows. I can always ask them a question and they'll answer it, or at least lead me to someone who can. A few weeks ago (the beginning of March maybe?), I saw one and asked it to show me where Catie (my subconscious/dream-guide/whatever you wish to call it) was since I hadn't seen her in months. It led me to a sparsely wooded area and I thought I saw her walking down a trail. I called her name and followed her for a little while until I saw something orange streak passed. I remembered seeing something similar happen in a few earlier dreams but I had always ignored it. This time, I focused my attention on finding it and after I few seconds I noticed a fox sitting atop a rock. At first glance it looked more like a wolf with fox-like characteristics (like fur pattern) but after a bit of focusing, it started to look like a normal fox. I realized I was wasting time with the fox so I went back to where I last Catie, hoping she'd still be there. She wasn't so I sat down and tried to call another crow to help me find her. While doing so, I herd a noise behind a few trees and got a mental image (I didn't actually see it with my eyes, just had the thought pop into my mind) of a bear walking in direction. I woke up after that. That was the first time I really noticed the fox. Ever since then, it's been showing up in many of my non-lucid dreams and every lucid one. Usually I'll see it in the corner of my eye hanging around where ever I am, sometimes when I'm watching tv, sometimes in a picture, and once in a while it'll just walk up to me and try to get my attention. A few nights ago I had a lucid dream where I noticed the fox and tried to run away from it. It isn't threatening in the slightest, it's actually pretty friendly, I just wanted to see what would happen. It tried to follow me but I noticed it was limping so I went back to check on it. I scooped it up and began carrying it before waking up. I'm not sure where I intended to go, I just picked it up and started walking. It seemed to be happy about that and it started fidgeting. The more it moved, the hotter it got until I eventually woke up with this burning sensation all across my arms and chest. Those are the only two times I can recall where the fox played a significant role in the dream, every other time it's just been a random dream character that's just there. Had been keeping my dream journal up to date, I could have gone into more detail about each instance but, unfortunately, I haven't jotted anything down in it for a while. I'm not particularly interested in foxes nor have I ever seen one in real life. I haven't even come across anything as of late that would get my mind to focus on foxes either. These dreams just feel... significant or important for some reason and it can't be shear coincidence that I keep seeing this fox, can it? Is this my subconscious trying to tell me something? Any help is appreciated it. If you take the time to read this post - or at least skim it - and try interpret it, I'll give you the most amazing thing you could ever imagine. It'll even come gift-wrapped with a shiny ribbon.
