If I have a resolution this New Year, it's to take lucid dreaming more seriously.

    1. America's Next Top Model

by , 01-15-2012 at 03:18 PM (Jakro Goes Hardcore Into LDs)
Recall is showing signs of improvement. I'm also still biphasic, though my sleeping times are shifting a bit - I'm not actively mantaining it, but for some reason I can't seem to sleep more than four hours at a time. Time-wise that's actually good, as I need only 6-7 hours of sleep this way instead of the 9-10 I normally sleep. Anyway I don't have anything particularly good to tell you at this point, so I'll share this quick dream from 2009 again:

      America's Next Top Model
      Date: August 11th, 2009
      Lucid: No

I was a competitor in the show, and in fact, I had made it to the last three. I am a guy though. Pretty inconceivable even with my long golden hair and angelic face.

Most of the show was just sitting in the sofa for me. Instead of the standard elimination I was just handed a letter that I had been eliminated. Well that sucks. In the letter Tyra tried to console me by saying that I am a "teen". I was 21 at the time... That said, it appeared that the word had a different meaning for her. Judging by the rest of the letter she meant more like stubborn and she was happy that I had been like that.

Then the dream cut to much later. I was in home and watching the show I was in. Some of the judges were saying that I have awfully thick lips. C'mon, they're not that thick. Besides, wouldn't that be a good thing? Then the screen cut to an edited version of a picture of me where the lips had been photoshopped even thicker! Come on! Then other judge said that "such a pervert couldn't even win the competition". Well yeah, I'm a pervert, but how would they know it? Does thick lips mean pervert?

All in all a total brainfuck of a dream.
    2. Killing My Mom - A Lucid Nightmare

by , 01-14-2012 at 12:52 AM (Jakro Goes Hardcore Into LDs)
Same old story with the recall, only fragments. I guess being biphasic at the moment is capping the limit of my recall. I'm staying asleep so short times that proper long dreams can't form. According to my Zeo Sleep Monitor my longest REM-periods happen a little bit after five hours, so it's no wonder that I'm not reaching my best with 3-4 hours at a time. I'll still keep this up, we'll see if it improves once I get more used to it.

In the meanwhile let's check back to one fucked up dream I had a while back. One that proves that being lucid and having a nightmare are not exclusive.

      Killing My Mom
      Date: July 27th, 2009
      Lucid: Yes
      Method: DILD

I don't remember what triggered the lucidity, but after confirming it with reality check I was semi-excited. I had read bunch of stuff back then about grounding the lucidity using touch, so I tried licking a screw that I found. I didn't notice any change in the quality of the dream.

Next I tried to put the living room's light's on as the dream seemed a bit dark. Obviously the lights wouldn't work. I called out my mom to put them on. I mean surely the dream character would manage to put them on? I don't remember what we exactly said to each other, but she didn't do it in the end. So I did the next best alternative. I started fucking smashing the lamps into pieces. I guess I am more random when lucid than normally in dreams. Surprisingly that was such a strong stimulation that it strengthened the dream. I think it also got brighter, ironically.

My mom got upset about the broken lamps though. This sent the dream into a downward spiral. Her negative emotions (that were actually mine, since this is my dream after all), made me angrier and I started venting it on the furniture, as I knew it was a dream. I don't usually smash the TV like I did then when I'm mad. No, really, I don't do that shit. So anyway mom started screaming at me for such behavior and I didn't want to hear that shit.

I went to my brother's room. There's a big window there. I jumped through the glass to get out. Yeah, I sure like destruction. Why take the door, when you can smash yourself through two layers of glass? I ran to the woods next to our house to get away. The atmosphere of the dream had turned into really dark and depressing. I was frightened and conscious of it. I knew that I had to get rid of the fear because I knew that it would affect the dream. Besides, what's there to fear, I knew it was a dream after all!

I tried joking around with my mom. I said to her that she is surprisingly agile for such considering how big she is (she is overweight). I guess that's not the best joke to say someone to calm him down in reality, but as it amused me and my mom was just a manifestation of my mind, that could have worked. But it didn't.

Confrontation was inevitable. The fight was short and I killed my mom with a simple hit on the head. I was relieved, but still thought how fucked up that whole thing was. Relief was only temporary though, as my sis came after me next and she wasn't happy. I was like "you gotta be kidding me?" Do I have to kill my family members one by one in a lucid? That's some fucked up shit right there. I tried to convince her to calm down, but I said the last words aloud in my bed, as I had woken up. Thank Lord.
    3. Sex-filled Lucid with Bananas and Hairy-assed Fat Dudes

by , 01-13-2012 at 04:24 AM (Jakro Goes Hardcore Into LDs)
My recall stays fragmented and I seem to not have any weapons against that. I usually only remember the last bit before waking up. Still, at least something every day. So let's head back to the past again. We have now reached July 2009, my best ever lucid month - 8 lucids in a month. To make that record, I had to have a lucid right on the first night of July. So let's delve into it.

Sex-filled Lucid with Bananas and Hairy-assed Fat Dudes <- My best headline so far.
      Date: July 1st
      Lucid: Yes
      Method: DILD

My phone was calling people on it's own. It was possessed. It called to some unknown guy and then other unknown voice insulted the one who answered. Answerer got really upset for being called and insulted in the middle of the night. I was trying to explain that it wasn't me and that some unknown source is controlling my phone. I doubt he bought it.

I was panicking. I tried to shut it down. It restarted on it's own. I tried removing the battery. It didn't work. I was really getting desperate, until all the sudden I came to my senses. "Wait a minute... This kind of thing can't happen... I must be dreaming."

After the nose test confirmed that I was dreaming, and me being a raging dick, the logical conclusion was that I'd proceed to having some hot lucid sex. Unfortunately it wasn't that hot, in fact it didn't feel like anything. So after a quickie I decided that I'd try to do the challenge that was in effect in our forum. It was still the same as my last lucid - try to ask some kind of life advice, wisdom etc. from one of our real life buddies. So I decided to again get my hands to my buddy Niko.

Again I used passive control and just presumed that he would for some reason be in the room next to our shower - he indeed was. What's this thing with Niko and our shower? Why it seemed that I always found him near there? What was he doing there? Well, all I know is that he had a rake on his hands, so I guess he was raking the leaves... inside the house. Okay, it doesn't make any sense.

Niko's dream self was pretty annoying, far more annoying than his real self. When I started talking to him, he said jokingly that he could hit me in the head with that rake. I just calmly answered "you might as well do that, as this is only a dream." He didn't react to that. I lead the conversation to our forum thread and to the challenge so that it was natural for me to ask the question.
"So how you do you pick up a ton of women like you do?" I finally asked.
"Yeah, I certainly do", He answered smugly. That was no answer. Idiot.
"Yeah yeah, but why?!" I continued.
"Well", Niko started and got more serious, "it depends on the location etc..."

I guess that's true. To pick up tons of women, you gotta be near tons of women. Now that the challenge and sex were both done, I continued by simply being curious about the world around me. I tasted some bananas I ramdomly found. They tasted the usual, maybe a bit more lame than usual. Then I proceeded to have more sex. Yeah, I'm a raging dick. Some nude, hairy fat dude was wandering in the background during the act. I guess I'm fucked up. Also I started concentrating too much on the woman's breast and they turned into this mutilated mess of details as my brains kept twisting them. I needed to look away.

Finally I woke up. Well, that had lasted pretty long anyway, I consoled myself. I was also excited to go post this into our forum. I routinely still did the nose test. Wait a minute, I'm not even awake yet! I guess that's the difference between me then and now, I now struggle doing reality tests routinely straight when I wake up.

I wasn't sure if I'd remember the first instance with Niko, so I decided to be safe and go ask him something more. He was still there in the room next to the showers.
"So what are you exactly doing in here?" I asked to sate my curiosity.
      "I'm cleaning", he answered.
"Yeah, but why are you cleaning here?"
"I'm cleaning!" He said with more force.

Dream ended there and I woke up.
    4. Bruce Willis, Sergio Busquets & Me

by , 01-11-2012 at 11:41 PM (Jakro Goes Hardcore Into LDs)
Last night's recall was again very poor. I remember only a fragment. At least I'm still keeping the "recalled something" streak. Here's a short dream from the past:

Bruce Willis, Sergio Busquets & Me
      Date: June 30th, 2009
      Lucid: No

I was in some kind of running competition with Bruce Willis and Sergio Busquets. Everybody knows who Willis is, but in case you don't know Busquets, well, he is a footballer playing for FC Barcelona. There were other competitors as well, but us three were by far in front of the others. Busquets started creating a gap to us, which makes sense, you'd think professional footballer can outrun a recreational footballer and an old actor. But when Willis tried to overtake me, I had had enough! We started really gritting our teeth and taking everything our muscles gave us.

In the end the race escalated to Willis somehow summoning a car for himself. God damn! That's cheating! Luckily I managed to summon some help as well - soon I found myself chasing Willis with a motorcycle. Bruce wasn't much of a driver, as he crashed into the woods in a turn. I started just watching the crash amazed and because I didn't keep my eyes on the road, I crashed into a rock! I went over the motorcycle and smashed into the same bush as Bruce.

We just looked at each other and started laughing. I'm glad we at least found the comedy of it.
    5. Shootin' Cops

by , 01-11-2012 at 01:19 AM (Jakro Goes Hardcore Into LDs)
I finally had enough recall to write about last night & day - that's right, it seems that my sleeping pattern has organically turned into biphasic. I don't mind, I've always been drawn to that kind of sleeping. I used to try polyphasing heavily back some time ago, but that didn't really succeed. Anyway, I'm still not fully satisfied with my recall. I remembered a lot, but for the most part it was just fragments. I'm going to write here the longest fragment.

      Shootin' Cops
      Date: January 10th, 2012
      Lucid: No

I don't think I was in my own body in this dream, it was more like being in some charismatic dude's body. I don't know what I was searching, but I opened some kind of coffin and it tilted towards me, so that some stuff got all over me. It caused weird, tingling sensation in my body.

Then I transformed to our house's kitchen. There was some woman there. I told her about my sensations. She said that she needs to do something to me. She used an odd word that I didn't understand, so I can't exactly tell what she said. I feel that there was something supernatural going on there, like I've gotten some kind of curse over me from the coffin and she had to remove it.

She took my hand gently and held it and we had a beautiful, silent moment there. But it had to be ruined, obviously. The cops arrived to the house with their lights on and sirens howling.

Oh shit. My alter ego knew that he was in trouble. He stayed calm and picked up the lady. I was thinking like I was creating a plot twist, that "they must keep touching, or else whatever the woman was doing won't work." So on some level, I knew it wasn't real, but my brains wouldn't tell me what it was and I wasn't smart enough to realize it's a dream.

So now I was there carrying in the woman with my masculine alter ego body. I went to the back of the house and jumped out of the window with her, thinking that we'd could get away.

Not gonna happen. For some reason couple of police were laying on their backs in the backyard and got up immediately after I jumped down. They started firing at me. Brutal, they'll just fire at me despite me carrying an innocent civilian? Anyway I get a pistol from somewhere and start firing back. To my surprise I hit, and then I remember like I've read, that this guy is an excellent shooter. So it's a book now? Mkay...

After killing the first two cops the rest of them run behind me and keep firing towards me. Dream started fading, but I still remember that I wasn't hitting them anymore when the dream ended. I remember being frustrated, but not really scared - I still knew that it was something not real.
    6. Wardrobe Malfunction Times Ten

by , 01-09-2012 at 10:49 PM (Jakro Goes Hardcore Into LDs)
Same story as past few days, recall stays pretty poor, but so does my general imsomnia. Anyway, here's another "classic" dream, or more like "WTF?" dream. Short one because I'm feeling lazy.

      Wardrobe Malfunction Times Ten
      Date: June 10th, 2009
      Lucid: No

I was sitting at my computer, as usual and my little sister was watching Disney Channel, as usual as well. Some kind of concert was starting. Miley Cyrus and some other girl were performing. Ryan Seacrest was the host. Ryan got really excited for some reason and started screaming and shouting in excitement. Even my sister was amazed how he shouted.

Then Miley and the other girl comes into the pictures and I'm astounded. She had only some black, too small bikini on and they were somehow wrong - the nipples were showing. I guess it could have been erotic, but I was too confused by the sight to even think anything like that. WTF? How could anything like that happen?

Something happened and the Miley had changed her clothes - this time to a white, beautiful princess dress. Except that the dress had no top, her breasts were completely exposed this time. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!

Now the real worrying thing here is that I saw a dream that had Miley Cyrus and Ryan Seacrest in it. Disturbing times...
    7. Just a General Lucid

by , 01-08-2012 at 11:14 PM (Jakro Goes Hardcore Into LDs)
Poor recall continues, but at least I've managed to recall something every single night this year so far. But we have plenty of dreams to look into in the meanwhile from the past three years, so I'll continue with those. This one's very basic though.

      Just a General Lucid
      Date: May 23rd, 2009
      Lucid: Yes
      Method: DILD

I attained lucidity after WBTB by making a reality check after noticing something was off.

I was outside and it was winter. My brother was laying in the snow and I threatened to give him a snow bath. I didn't do it though. I looked inside through a big window in our house. There were some weird duded. They made the peace gesture with their fingers. I answered back with my hand, then turned it into \,,/ and then reversed the peace gesture into something less cordial.

The dream was fading though. I tried to spin to restabilize it, but it didn't work. Then I tried throwing myself into the ground back first. Boom! That worked and the dream got clear again. Crystal clear, should I say.

It was still dark and wintery. I went inside the house and it seemed like there was somekind of party or celebration going on. I presumed it was Christmas, but didn't delve into it any further, as I remember the challenge - as in the monthly lucid dreaming challenge in my own forum. It was to get my hands to one of my friends, Niko and ask him something.

I relied on the passive control to make him appear. I started shouting "Niko are you there?" to the toilet. "Yeah, I'm here", my brother answered sarcastically. Somehow he had managed already to get in.
"Have you seen Niko?" I asked, but I was given no answer. I kept going and trusted that he is bound to appear if I keep up.

Finally I found Niko near our shower. He seemed unnaturally happy. I went right into it.
"As you remember Niko, there's the challenge in our forum. So could you tell me some kind of advice for life or something."

I don't remember the exact answer, but the message was, that "if you do something, do it right."
"YOU BETTER CRAM IT SO YOU DON'T FORGET IT", Niko advised then, shouting manically. I went it through once in my head before moving on.

Now that the challenge was out of the way I decided to find out what day it was in the dream. I went to kitchen and asked my mom. She seemed tense, but finally answered to me: 5th of June 2010. What? It is summer? Then why is it so dark and why is there winter outside?

There was no signs of dream fading, but I wasn't used to dreams lasting so long. So I decided to stabilize it further just in case. I touched all kinds of surfaces and then found some bottle on the floor. I picked it up and took a sip. Eww, it tasted bad!

Finally I realized that just wandering around in the home isn't exactly what I want to do in a lucid dream. I can do it enough in the waking life as it is.

I went outside, started running and then just leaped off the ground. It was awesome. Gravity was in effect, but I could do long and high jumps, much higher than the treetops.

But by the time I dropped I had exited my body and I was losing my lucidity as well. No I was instead playing some game where the character flies with a hang glider. Soon he hit the ground and was surrounded by enemies. He was filled with arrows.

I then woke up from my game death in front of some kind of firing squad. I told the guy next to me that I'm not going out without a fight. I moved my hand to my sword. What, I had a sword now?

It turned out to be duel to the death. I was up against some kind of... maintenance guy. What the hell is up with these dudes? He seemed kind of tough, but I just told him to go fix a lamppost. The fight never commenced - I woke up before that
    8. Gang Wars II: The Infiltration

by , 01-08-2012 at 01:24 AM (Jakro Goes Hardcore Into LDs)
Again, recall was poor and only fragments, but I'm actually considering that kind of good - I only slept five hours, so remembering anything is pretty good after all. Tonight I'll go through one of my favorite dreams ever.

      Gang Wars II: The Infiltration
      Date: May 15th, 2009
      Lucid: No

I was near one local place, basically equivalent of community center. I was one a backseat of a Mercedes as the car drifted past the community center. There's a school next to it and I was to infiltrate that area. Yeah, I was some kind of agent or something. My hometown was in some kind of gang warfare, that was what I intuitively "knew" about the situation It was dusk, I guess, since it was a bit dark.

There was some guy patrolling in front of the building. He had a pistol on his hand. He looked the Mercedes and seemed suspicious, but let it pass. The Mercedes turned to rowhouses that were next to the building, with some trees and field between them to block the sight.

I jumped out of the car and started moving within the thin trees and then over the field. My mission was to contact a mole that was working undercover in the ranks of the enemy gang, or something like that. When I arrived to the place, there was some other buildings beneath the community center that really aren't there,
but the area was a bit different anyway in the dream. I peeked around the corner of one of the buildings and saw some maintenance guy. I was about to shoot the guy with my silenced pistol, but then I realized that the place was crawling with guards.

The guards in general were youngish guys, where as maintenance guys - who were also everywhere - were basic, middle-aged men, just what you would expect. But what the hell could take so much maintenance?

I wasn't feeling very patient, so I hoped that darkness would cloak my movements as I sprinted out to the sight. I tried to make it between other buildings in the other side. For some reason it seemed like there was more light all the sudden and I was obviously seen. Fuck. Not quite as smooth as James Bond.

I realized that men behind me had certainly seen me already, so I was in a hurry. I continued running and ran into a guard that emerged from between the buildings. Instead of defending himself, the guy lifted his radio to call out the alarm. I shot him. Admirable (or stupid) to sacrifice your own life just to let others know that there is somebody uninvited in. Especially since I was already seen.

I continued my running from between the buildings. Now I had no destination - I was just running somewhere for the sake of running away. This time I met two guards at the same time! I shot one of the guys as I was running towards them. Instead of shooting me, the other guy picked up his buddy's pistol and extended his arm to give it to me. Now I can shoot with two pistols, I thought! I realized that this must be the guy I was looking for. Nice luck.

My mission was to contact him and probably to tell others as well what he said. Well I forgot it, so I guess that's mission failed. Anyway, I still had to get out of there alive.

I continued running and actually the next place I remember is in reality over a mile away from the community center, but I guess in the dream it was closer. I was running on the road by our neighbors and there was some tall guy on their yard - and of course some other gang members as well.

I raised the gun that I had gotten in the enemy's base and pulled the trigger. Click. What? There's no ammo in their guns? What the fuck? I think we are going to win this gang war. Anyway, my original pistol was still working, but my shots were scattering all over creation. There's a downhill after the house and I disappeared down it, from my enemy's perspective. Soon the tall guy ran behind me. He was at the top of the hill and pulled out a sawed-off shotgun. He started screaming after me:
"I'll take care of you! Like I did last time!"

So apparently this is a sequel. Shame that I didn't see the original, I guess it was awesome.

The guy started shooting at me. Instead of staying with my back to him and protecting the back of my head, I kept looking over my shoulder at him and then somehow put my hands in the x-shape in front of my face to protect it from the shots. Some shots still went through and hit my forehead, but they didn't cause serious damage. I didn't experience any pain. I saw myself from outside of me, like in a movie, and noticed that lines of blood were pouring down my face from the wounds the shots caused.

Dream started to fade, but it was near it's logical conclusion anyway. I didn't stay to fight the tall guy, instead I ran home and got away with it.
    9. Michael Schumacher Formula One Showdown

by , 01-07-2012 at 12:46 PM (Jakro Goes Hardcore Into LDs)
I've actually not yet gone to bed tonight. Or more like "tonight". It's already morning. So let's delve into another classic. This is a short one mainly because I'm lazy. The Formula One fans here will enjoy this one. I can imagine that there's like two of you in whole Dreamviews.

      Michael Schumacher Formula One Showdown
      Date: April 16th 2009
      Lucid: No

So I was watching Formula One on tv. Schumacher, who at the time of the dream was retired, had made a comeback to the races (as he later did irl). Barrichello was his team-mate as had been in the real-life as well. Schumacher went to the pits and there was some trouble, but they managed to deal with it and get him back on the track.

Just as Schumacher exited the pits, Barrichello smashed right into him! Schumacher's car didn't seem that damaged, but Barrichello's car was obliterated. Despite Schumacher's car being seemingly okay to go on, he parked to the trackside. Instead he jumped out of the cockpit and headed straight towards Barrichello.

It seemed like Schumacher would go to console his team-mate, but instead he grabbed Barrichello, ripped him out of his cockpit and started beating the hell out of him!

That's it. Amazing scenes. It was amusing to me when I woke up and it still is.
    10. Zombies vs. Christians

by , 01-06-2012 at 02:36 AM (Jakro Goes Hardcore Into LDs)
Last night was underwhelming once again in terms of dream recall - or I should say last day, and I only slept 6 hours. I have been struggling to sleep at night and it's interfering with my recall. Compared to my usual recall this has not been at all worse though. I am still struggling in cultivating a habit of actually making notes of my dreams right after I wake up. I should just do it. On a brighter note I have remembered at least fragments on five days in a row. Probably doesn't sound much especially coming from a guy that has been into LDs for three years, but my record stands at mere 27 days in a row. I hope that I beat it come the end of the January.

So anyway that means that you're in for another "classic" dream. As always I'm only rewriting the lengthy or otherwise memorable dreams here.

      Zombies vs. Christians
      Date: March 5th, 2009
      Lucid: No
I was playing some kind of a hack 'n' slash multiplayer game - except that in my dreams, games are never games but rather I'm really in their worlds. There were two sides - Zombies and Christians. Your standard match-up... not. I was fighting with a battle-axe and our team was fighting along some ramp, slaying our opponents. I was obviously on the zombie side as I'm so vehemently anti-christian.

The main group of opponents started coming up the ramp. There was some kind of fence on the ramp, but that would have been easily surpassed should they have wanted it - but I guess they didn't see us, as they went into some mansion through the door behind the ramp.

I followed them. Inside the mansion there were coffins. I presumed that there would be zombies inside the coffins, but no. The zombies were lying on the tables in the next room, where I noticed one of the Christians crouching and "defusing" the zombie with his cross. Similarly how the bomb is defused in Counter-Strike. WTF? Zombie Counter-Strike? I'd play that. It's a bit odd though, usually in games and movies zombies are just shot to pieces, not "defused" with a cross... Well, whatever. Anyway I was in control of these lying zombies. At some point they got up and started walking whenever I was looking.

I took something that look like a pancake, inserted it into my mouth. I needed to speak into it to command the zombies. I hadn't done that earlier because it would have given off my location. Now the room only had some woman with my zombie. I put it into my mouth and commanded... "Kill me." Oops. I don't know what brainfuck happened there, but even the zombie looked surprised. Then it started to walk towards me. "No no no, kill the woman", I corrected myself then.

The zombie took it's time on killing the woman and she didn't look at all happy about my command. She started walking towards me ominously.

I retreated outside, constantly repeating the command "kill the woman!" through the pancake, or whatever. The zombie and the woman kept following me. Once I was outside, some of my teammates, who for some reason were just idling outside, came to my assist.

All the sudden some guy comes up to the zombie and says that he is sick of it doing things so slowly. The guy kept talking and I don't remember what he said in between, but somehow he managed to shift the subject to some new law, that said that you couldn't play more than 250 hands of poker a day anymore. He told that it was frustrating, especially for a pro like him, given that he had to meet the betting requirements of bonuses etc.

I just looked at him flabbergasted. I had forgotten about zombies and all. The I collected myself and just answered: "I'm not obeying that law."

That's it, now to wait when the Zombie Counter-Strike gets published.
    11. Fondling a Girl's Breasts

Nothing particularly worth remembering last night, so we'll delve into "classics" again. In case somebody's confused, I do have a dream journal where I obviously write every dream down, in finnish - I just translate only interesting/lengthy entries into this one.

      Dark Future
      Date: January 28th, 2009
      Lucid: No

This started with a fragment of me fondling some girl's breast, thus the header. The girl just laughed at me for being so gentle. I guess girls like it rough. Soon enough the whole dream transformed something completely different and one of the most memorable non-lucids I've ever had.

I found myself in some kind of electronic control system for laser turrets. My brother was in the cockpit of the next turret and in the sky enemy fighters flew all around. I've written that it was the final battle between good and evil, so perhaps that's how I felt about it at the time.

I managed to recall the controls of the turret quite accurately. Two joysticks moved the turret around, though I don't know why they needed to have two of them, one would suffice you'd think. Moving and firing was easy, but the problem for me was aiming - there was no way for me to actually see into the sky while I was in the cockpit. In the end I just decided to pull the triggers and keep the laser firing blindly into the sky. At least there's a distant chance of hitting something.

That wasn't a good idea though. I guess the turret's mechanics couldn't take such continuous firing, as the it jammed, or something like that. It ceased to fire. I pressed all the buttons, but nothing worked. It was time to bail out of there as I had no means of defending myself.

Outside the situation wasn't much better, as there were dangerous human-destroying robots looming all around. I just knew that, I don't remember actually seeing one immediately after leaving my turret. I was still wandering the streets and I thought to myself, that even if I hide into a basement of some building, the robots must have some kind of life-tracking device and they'd inevitably find me. I felt like I was already dead. Despair filled me.

I didn't see these terminators around, though. Somehow I still felt threatened. I soon saw and old, abandoned warehouse. A classic place to hide. I didn't hesitate when I walked in there. Maybe I should have, because there was some addict/drunk - a guy who seemed dangerous anyway. He wasn't angry though, but since I was in this threatened headspace already, I was suspicious of him.

We began talking about something. I don't remember what it was about. All the sudden I grabbed the guy's arm and tried to twist it. First one way, then I switched to the other. It didn't work. The guy just got upset and shot himself with some syringe. Then he attacked me. The details of the fight are out of my recall, but I did manage to knock him out - perhaps even kill him. Makes me kind of seem like a villain as I was the one who attacked first, but still, he did seem dangerous. Better to strike first then.

I wasn't out of the trouble yet, though. While fighting I had seen another addict in the next room, but he was apparently so high or something, that he completely ignored us. I was leaving the place when three other addicts came in from the same door I had come in. Well, now I was in trouble. They saw the body of their buddy behind me and they weren't happy.

The addicts surrounded me. I was scared to death by this point - remember I had no idea that this was a dream. It felt very real to me. I was only thinking that I had to survive somehow. I was thinking about performing some kind of wall-jump to go around them, but I guess I was a little bit desperate. This time they were the ones to attack first. One of them threw a punch at me. I managed to partially block him, so that my face only received a touch. Still I let out a loud "Oof" sound as the fist hit me.

The same guy seemed to stop and think for a moment. Then he threw another punch. This time it got nowhere near to me. Yet again I let out the "Oof" sound, even it didn't hit me at all. All the addicts started to laugh at me. I still felt very threatened and rightly so. I guess the laughing distracted them enough and I took the chance; I ran out between two of them.

While I was running I already knew I had survived, unless they have guns or something. I was, and still am in at least a solid shape. I can outrun some addicts any day.

The outside of the warehouse was similar to what it was when I went in. I've described it as being similar to the opposing side of counter-terrorist's starting point in the map cs_compound in Counter-Strike: Source, without the containers. Wow, that was a terrible sentence. Anyway, let's move on. I was going around the warehouse clockwise, but I again ran into trouble - two addicts coming right at me! I supposed they were all buddies of each other. I turned back to round the house counter-clockwise. The addict still at the door of the warehouse behind me shouted to them: "Throw a bottle at him!"

The other of the two guys that just came at me turned around and started going around the warehouse clockwise, apparently trying to meet me at the other side and surround me again. When I emerged from the other side of the house, I continued straight after the wall ended. The guy coming from the other side appeared a little behind me. He threw a bottle at me. It was a small bottle of 7up, you know, plastic bottle. Seriously? I doubt plastic bottle would have caused much damage to me. There was even some liquid in it still, so I even considered picking it up so that I'd have something to drink. I decided against it in the end.

"Hahaha, you didn't hit me", I mocked him while I continued to run away. I shouted some other insults as well to him, but I don't remember those anymore.

So I got away. While I was easing my step, I was visioning myself returning there to revenge. Someday... Apparently I thought myself as some kind of action hero.

I ran into the "City". Now City was an interesting place. Only the Chosen People were let in there, and I wasn't one of them. So as I approached the place, the special forces started firing me. Gee, I'm really not having good luck. From danger to danger. From addicts throwing plastic bottles at me to special forces firing with guns at me. Some "getting away".

Somehow I survived being fired at. All of these Chosen People of the future dressed exactly alike. They had long black leather-coats, sunglasses and they all were bald. The coats were open and the clothing beneath it was dark as well. So it was hard for me to mix into them. I wonder how the hell I didn't get found and shot.

I figured that if I just shaved my head (I have long hair) and dressed alike, I could fool them. That was my long-term plan.

I don't remember why - or how - but I went to some hospital. There some professor started telling me all kinds of things. I guess he was the exposure needed at this point so that I'd know how this world works. The professor told me about "The Perfect Race of Humans", that they had created. Apparently the Chosen People. On the monitor there was 3d-model of the head of these humans of the future. They had long skulls and small noses. Big forehead. Those were the details I noticed particularly.

For some reason I started to think about what would be the perfect amount of humans from which the current (as in future as the dream was set there) segment of the humanity had descended on. For some arbitrary reason I figured 10 000 would be good amount. Then I proceeded to think that that's why the killer robots were probably around. They were used to get rid of rest of the humanity, so that the Chosen People would be all there is eventually.

That's pretty grim vision of future, but at least I survived. It was nightmarish dream, but at the same time it still was totally awesome. One of the best I've had ever.

It ended in a false awakening where I was in my room, but after that that part is boring. So let's end it here.
    12. Solid Three Dream Night - Slaying Kittens

by , 01-04-2012 at 02:13 AM (Jakro Goes Hardcore Into LDs)
Last night was okay in terms of recall, so for once I don't have to resort to posting my old dreams. None of these new ones are lucid. Without further ado let's delve into them:

      Wind
There's a storm forecasted to come here soon IRL. So tonight I had a dream where I went outside and the winds were really blowing hard already. There was plenty of snow also, as opposed to real life where we haven't gotten much snow so far this winter. So the wind was blowing the snow in the air and the same shed, that almost burned up in the last night's "classic" suddenly blew snow with huge power within it. Yet I walked right into the blowing snow. My brother was around once again and he was like "whoa, dude" because of doing that.

I went back inside and I have no idea why I did that walking thing. Anyway, knowing that the storm had arrived I fully expected that the electricity will go out soon. In the last storm few days ago it was out for a night and the internet was out for full day. So I knew I had to hurry to write my 750 words on 750word.com, so I wouldn't again ruin my streak. I started writing but kept getting distracted.

      Crazy Shit
Yeah, that's what I'd title this dream. I was "playing" a game that reminded Dungeon Keeper. Except that it wasn't a game, it was like real life and it was completely fucked up.

My opponent was this wizard guy. He kept creating kittens to fight for him. I know, fucked up. I guess they were meant to level up as they fought battles, I don't know. I took my kitchen knife and started slicing through the kittens. I know, that's brutal. Also doubled-up the fucked-upness.

In the end, I started striking the wizard with that lighting thing from Star Wars, I guess it's called Force Drain. But that was not enough. When I thrust my hips forward, laser beams shot out of my groin and exploded the wizards eyes. I swear I'm not making this up. I can come up with fucked up shit, but nothing near as fucked up as this.

So in the end I beat the wizard and won the battle.

      The Cyclist
I was walking in some kind of a camping area. My mom was leading the way of some group. I was with them, but sort of walking on my own behind them. She went to some shack and told that some poor-ass cycling group vacated there.

Soon I was walking away from there alone. Some cyclist that apparently was late from the rest of his group cycled towards me. He was talking on the phone. As he passed me, the handle of the bike hit my shoulder and it hurt.

I got pissed of and told him to learn to drive that bicycle. The guy turned back to look at me and accidentally fell down a steep and deep ditch that was by the road.

I couldn't help but to rub it in the dude. I felt that his falling off there was karma, or something. I went by the ditch told him that he got what he deserved. As I was walking away from the ditch, the soft sand beneath me let off and I accidentally caused all the sand to slide on him. There was some mud as well with it. There was no way that looked like an accident and the guy was pissed. He got up covered in sand and mud and started chasing me.

I ran to my parents. God, what a pussy I am (it seems to shift a little bit in my dreams - sometimes I'm crazy brave, sometimes a total coward). I'm 23 for God's sake and I run to my parents when things go sour?

Anyway, at least that was a bit fun. That's all for last night. Gonna hit the hay soon.
    13. Another "Classic"

by , 01-03-2012 at 02:10 AM (Jakro Goes Hardcore Into LDs)
Last night didn't produce anything special dreamwise again. I remembered some fragments, but not enough to merit a proper entry here. So instead we are going to delve into another "classic".

Jakro "Classics" II: Weird Mansion and It's Angry Owner
      Date: January 9th, 2009
      Lucid: No

I was keeping a fire in the fireplace, but for some reason I somehow removed the burning contents of the fireplace and took them with me outside, next to the shed where we keep our firewood. It was winter and I took the fading fire and placed it onto the snow. Like I said I have no idea how I transported the fire from within the fireplace to outside, nor I know why I did it. The fire wasn't burning very brightly, so I poked the wood a bit to make more space for it to take air - it worked as some old wooden door that was beneath the fire burst into flames like I'd poured gas in it.

This was the time when I realized that it probably isn't the smartest thing to burn wood next to the shed. If it would have caught fire, that would have been catastrophic. The fire did indeed spread to the wood that was inside the shed. I panicked a bit but managed to put down the fire. The fire was out, but I was still nervous in case there was some smoldering.

I switched back inside the house all the sudden. There was my brother and some random buddies of him. I felt like I knew them, even though afterwards I had no idea who they were. My brother gave me his phone, so that I could call our sister to watch the shed in case there's still something smoldering.

For some reason I called my brother's number, which is odd considering I was using his phone! Funny enough, some unknown dude actually answered the phone. There is no mention of the contents of the call, so I take it I didn't move forward much in that discussion. I forgot about the shed as there was a bigger problem.

The group - me, brother and the other guys - weren't in our house at all. It was some kind of strange mansion, and we were lost there. We didn't know how we had ended up there, but we wanted to get away. We were in some kind of dining hall. There were stairs up, but they were collapsed on the upper end. The upper level wasn't that high anyway. On that upper level there were stairs even further upwards. Couple of the other guys planned to get to that upper level by climbing the stairs to as high as they go and then jumping to the upper platform. It was feasible, as the platform was just about within jumping range.

I took the lead and was first to try the jump. I managed to grab onto the edge edge of the platform with my arms, but then the platform collapsed under my weight. The fall wasn't long and I didn't hurt myself, but the other guys were a bit pissed about the fact that there was no way upwards anymore.

In fact, the others succumbed into despair. They talked pure crazy-talk that we are going to starve there as we were stuck. WTF? We were in a mansion, and in a dining hall no less. You'd think there were some food nearby, even more importantly, you'd think someone actually lives there! I wasn't really concerned about starving to death.

I rallied the rest of the bunch and we started to search for a alternative routes away from there. In some room to the side of dining hall we met a little girl. I asked whether there was any other way out except that broken stairway. The girl then asked us to come with her. She took us to a balcony that was high on the house's side, but it had a stairway going down! We had managed to get out.

Not so fast. We were just about to go to the balcony when we bumped into the owner of the mansion. Instantly I was afraid of him - he just seemed to emit this vibe of pure hateful energy. Like he was about to snap at any moment. The worse thing was that he was actually carrying a rifle when he came to us. It was some old-fashioned rifle that was probably at least a couple hundred years old. I remember the gun in vivid detail - it was beautifully decorated throughout, both it's metal and wooden parts. It must have been expensive.

I don't remember exactly what the guy said, but his message was basically this: "I'm glad you are coming out, otherwise I would have had to kill you." Jesus Christ. This guy is a madman, but I figured that out at first sighting.

We were leaving. Somehow I knew that my dad was on his way to come to pick me up from there. I tried to spark up some conversation with the guy in the meantime, just to keep his occupied so that he doesn't get any ideas about torturing and murdering us. He seemed like a that kind of guy. I was about to compliment him about his nice gun, but I never get to that, as he pulled out a dull and bent butterknife.

Yeah. This was the kind of guy that was even more scary when wielding a dull and bent butterknife. He could fuck me up with that. I had no doubts in my mind of that. I tried to defuse the situation by saying assertively "Do not point that butterknife at me!", but instead that actually blew out the situation. Wrong move.

The guy went absolutely nuts. He started shouting that I won't tell him what he can or can't do. I was terrified. "This is it, my life's going to end. Fucked up with a butterknife by some madman."

Finally he snapped fully and started coming towards me. I tried to survive by starting to run away. I ran the stairs down with the guy chasing me down.

Lucky for me, just as I was on the ground level, my dad's car emerged from the road. He stopped his car some way from me and I ran to get on board. I was barely in when I screamed at my dad to step on it. I guess he saw the guy that was coming after me as he quickly obliged.

But I couldn't get the door closed as the lunatic managed to just cut in. Car was already moving and he had to run along to keep up. The madman and I struggled a bit at the door before we finally managed to shrug him off.

Some way away my it was my dad's turn to snap. I was explaining what happened and my dad got so angry, that he made an U-turn and started accelerating back towards the madman's mansion. I presumed that he was going to try to run over the madman. Wow, I didn't know my dad could get so upset over something that he would cold-bloodedly try to kill someone - even if the madman totally deserves it.

Anyway, I was still scared to death. I managed to convince my dad to turn back away as I told him, that the lunatic had a rifle. It was lucky that my dad listened to me.

We drove away from the mansion and had succeeded to escape. My brother and the rest of the crew were forgotten by now, like they never even existed. I guess the managed themselves. Nonetheless this was an uncharacteristically happy ending for a nightmare.
    14. Introduction + First Dream

by , 01-01-2012 at 10:27 PM (Jakro Goes Hardcore Into LDs)
Hi. I'm Jakro. That's it, let's go into the dream... No, really maybe you want to know briefly who the hell is this.

I've been dabbling with lucid dreaming since about 2005, but only started it taking more seriously in 2009. At first my results were encouraging, peaking in July 2009 when I had 8 lucid dreams in a month. I was like "holy shit, this is awesome, and it's only going to get better. Fast forward a couple of years and I'm like "what happened? It was supposed to be awesome!" During the past year my total lucid count was 14. That's pathetic! Worst thing is, that they've all been short and poor in quality. My last quality LD was probably back in 2009. So what did really happen?

Simply put I started coasting more and more and didn't put in as much effort as in the first few months. I was lazy. I've not made concerted effort for lucid dreams in a while. I've kept dream journal and still am keeping, but my recall has been only so-so. The times I've actually put in some effort have been mostly frustrating due to lack of results.

But that's about to stop. This year, I'm going to have my best year of lucid dreams ever. To support that effort I'm starting to write a DJ here as well. I've been lurking in Dreamviews for quite a while, occasionally posting here and there, but not really being active. I have had a DJ in my own forum in Finnish, but I'm going to make a habit of writing here as well every evening to get my minds focused back into lucid dreams in night.

For the most part I'm going to write last night's dream here, but I still have often nights, where I don't remember much. So then I'm going to instead revisit some of my "classic" dreams from over the years put them up on here.

We'll start with one of those right away, as I didn't remember much from last night.

Jakro "Classics" - My First Recorded Lucid
      Date: January 31th, 2009
      Lucid: Yes
      Method: WILD

It's funny that my first lucid was WILD because I've only had three of them over the course of last three years. This is not really that special dream except that it was, you know, the first one. There have been some short ones before that but I've not recorded them, so this is what you get.

What happened prior it was that I was seriously sleep-deprived from staying up over 24 hours. My sleeping rhythm was completely upside down, so I had to stay up for a long stretch to fix it. In the afternoon I tried to watch soccer while tired, but fell asleep. I woke up four hours later and get up to move to bed to get the rest of my sleep in. I had been reading about lucid dreaming a lot and I was aware of WILD technique. I knew that I was so tired, that nothing was going to stop me from falling asleep (and given that it was still kind of early to go in bed, I wouldn't even had minded if I wouldn't), so I tried my hardest to stay conscious through the stages of falling asleep.

Luckily for me they were pretty short and I did indeed fall asleep. The hypnagologic stage was short and I soon found myself in my bed in complete darkness. I had stayed calm, but a bit excited during the experiences in the hypnagologic state, but I didn't know whether I woke up or not. I had felt shaking during the hypnagologic state and then as it ceased I had seen pictures and thought to myself that "I'm totally tripping balls" (that's the exact wording on my journal).

But yeah, I was laying in my bed in dark room. I got up and felt how everything seemed real enough. I tried turning on the light. It didn't work. A-ha! I had just read that often in people's dreams lights don't work. I was becoming increasingly sure that I was indeed dreaming. But I'm always very careful with this, as the stuff you often do in LDs is either illegal or lethal, usually both.

Not this time though. Looking at the clock and away and then seeing the time transform completely confirmed for me that it was a dream, but I wasn't prepared for this. I didn't expect to become lucid so soon after starting seriously trying! I was so in awe of the dreamworld, that I mostly just observed. Not that there's anything bad in that, I've done that often since and it's fun on it's own, just to look at the vast and complicated world and detail that your brain has created.

As for reality checks, I wasn't done though. I did one final test - the nose test. All the doubt faded... Well, almost all. I ventured to our kitchen and everything looked like there someone was amidst of cleaning the room. Everything was stacked up in one place. I went to my parents bedroom, still not 100 % sure that I was indeed dreaming.

I walked into the room. My sister and my mom were there. They were watching television. Both of them had matching camouflage jeans on and I've never seen anything like that on either of them. My sis was also a few years younger than what she really was at the time. 0kay, finally I was sure that I'm dreaming, stuff like that just doesn't happen. Then I woke up.

Nothing spectacular in the end, but an encouraging start to my lucid dreaming journey that stalled a year later and started stagnating. I have some more awesome dreams to share later and hopefully I'll start dreaming ones as well. Anyway, I'll go to sleep now. This post at least put my mind into the right place for sleeping.
