    1. First proper dreams in a month!

by , 02-17-2011 at 12:06 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
Okay so school's back on, and I've been getting 6 and a half hours sleep a night, resulting in missing out on the later REM cycles where all the vivid dreams are

But last night, I got to sleep for a glorious 10 hours

I was on a roller coaster on a very clear blue day, with a best friend from school and his girlfriend, when something weird happened.

I realised it was a dream just as the roller coaster was at a high spot. I started shouting "This is a dream!!" hoping it would stabilize me, and get my friend to realise too (you never know; it might be them for real).

But, again, I thought I was waking up. It was really just the dream getting more vivid, and when I was talking, I was convinced that I was half-asleep already and talking in my bed. I can't remember exactly what happened after that, but I know now that when I thought I was waking up and could see my bedroom, it was still actually a dream

So yeah, now I know that as soon as I get that last hour or two of sleep, I will ALWAYS have a lucid

    2. An actual SHARED DREAM

by , 01-20-2011 at 03:28 AM (Beyond the Horizon)
At first it wasn't lucid. I was surrounded by school people; teachers students etc. and there was a tower that two people had to climb. I was just spectating at first, then I became one of the two people. It was kind of like a tower from Assassin's Creed, but don't let that put you off the rest of this DJ. The other guy beat me by like 0.1 seconds. But the top was a trap. It wasn't stable and soon, the other guy fell off and died

I struggled to maintain my balance as the top of the tower was constantly changing and shifting. I eventually fell off, having a classic "falling" dream. But I think that by the time I hit the bottom, I realised that IRL, I never fall of high things, so this must be a dream.

After a memory gap, I found that I was lucid with LostInLA and our friend from church, "B". We were having an awesome time, taking huge leaps and floating down towards the ground again, 200 metres away. We kept doing that, and we passed lots of different scenery. At one point it the ground was a dull grey and there was a castle ahead of us, but it didn't matter. We stopped just before the castle. I said "Why don't we fly?" I then proceeded to jump really high and will myself to fly. But I just hit the ground again. The other two just laughed. We went off to the right, away from the castle.

I remembered that there was something important to do, my dream goals, but I couldn't remember them. Just as we leaped over a massive, green, mossy rock, B said "Let's go to Italy!". She then teleported us all to a really small area that just had 5 buildings that were were standing in the centre of. I jumped up high to see where we were, but outside the 5 buildings, there was just blackness for the ground, and surrounding us in the sky was just a bad quality wallpaper of Italy.

While in the air, I remembered about how I'm supposed to help my cousin with her nightmares, so I shut my eyes and tried to teleport to her house, but it only half worked and I slowly faded back to the Italy place. I hit the ground next to the other two. I said "I need to help my cousin (S) with her nightmares," as I tried really hard this time. I saw a small white vortex when I shut my eyes. Eventually I was at my cousins house. The two bedrooms are opposite each other in their house. The two boys in one, and the two girls in the other.

I arrived in what was supposed to be S and her sister's bedroom, but it was really dark, and there wasn't a bed in there. Just black coloured tables and random things around the room. A second after I arrived, LostInLA and B appeared too. I guess they didn't want to leave me on my own. LostInLA mentioned about waking up since we had been jumping around and talking for a while now, and I said "You want to wake up now?" and she said "Nah, I'll wait."

I then asked them both to say "I will remember my dreams tonight." LostInLA said it like it was a bother to say it, but B said it with enthusiasm. "Alright, I'm going to find S now," they nodded.

I looked out into the hallway. The end of it was blocked. In front of me was the boy's bedroom, but inside, it looked like it had been changed into the girl's room; pink walls etc.
The sister was sleeping, but she looked strange, almost Asian (not that Asians are strange, but it was strange for her to look like that).
S was supposed to be sleeping, but she was just sitting at her table by the window, with craft in front of her. She wasn't doing the craft when I was there.

I walked around so I could see her face, and said "Hey S". (I said her name). She turned and said "Isn't it weird when you try to burp twice in a row?" I was confused by this response, but I tried it and said "Wow, it IS weird "
I had to try and get into her actual dreams, and find out where she is, but I didn't know how to go about it, so I placed my hand on her head, but nothing happened. I just ruffled her hair and said something about how she isn't having any nightmares tonight.

Out the window, there was a massive field of plants, they were growing strawberries and lemons from waist-high grass plants.

      I let myself wake up.

My arm was the most dead it has ever been in my life. I sat up in my bed, and my arm just dragged along after me. It was completely dead. As the circulation returned, I ran out of my bedroom and texted LostInLA, saying I had just had a long lucid with her, does she remember?
She texted back that she didn't remember her dreams.
I then rang up my cousin. This was the phone conversation:

Me: "Hi, may I speak to S please?"
      S: "Hello?"
      Me: "Hey! It's Kevin."
      S: "Oh hi!"
Me: "Did you remember your dreams?"
S: "Kind of. They were good dreams."
Me: "So you didn't have any nightmares?"
      S: "Nope "
Me: "Well, I had a really long lucid dream with me and my two church friends, and at the end of it, I went to you..
(I described the bit with her in it)
S: "Yeah, that's basically how mine went too."
Me: "Really?! And also, outside the window, there were strawberries and lemons growing."
S: "We actually ARE growing strawberries and lemons out the back. Grandma cut some lemons off a tree and we put them into pots. I started growing strawberries in pots too."
Me: "Seriously?! Wow! What were you doing just before I rang?"
S: "Getting ready to go to Timezone."
      Me: "Okay then, have fun!

I then texted B, and she said "Really?? I remembered my dreams when I woke up, but now I can't remember them."

    3. First night of attempted SD and nightmare-fixing

by , 01-14-2011 at 11:03 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
My cousin is sleeping over for a few days, and we are trying to have a shared dream together. As she was falling alseep she twitched a lot. She told me it was from bad dreams. We will fix this

      NIGHT 1:

      Dream 1:

I was with a few friends outside my house. It was cloudy. We were just playing around and having fun, then we went inside and there was something wrong, like a feeling of imminent danger. I thought how cool it would be if it was a dream. I said it out loud, and everyone in the room was all like "Does this LOOK like a dream to you?".

The dream looked and FELT so real. It was the most convincing dream I have ever had. Nevertheless, I said "This is a dream," just to be sure. Then the lucidity "unlocked" and I got goosebumps. I ran out the door and I think I flew, then a noise woke me up instantly.

      Dream 2:

I was at primary school (OMG) doing work experience. I hadn't been there the last few days in the dream, so when I went to my supervising teacher to ask where to go, she said "Who were you with before?". I tried to remember, but no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't remember the teacher's name. So I tried to describe her and how she had curly hair but it's naturally straight, and she curls it using those cylinder things you put in your hair. She had no idea who I was talking about, so I just went to a random classroom.

Turns out she was another teacher I had. She was angry at me for not being here for a few days, but in my head I thought it was a public holiday. The kids were grade 1 so they were being taught the first five letters of the alphabet, and they all repeated it.

Later I was in the main concrete area, and I saw my church friends. IRL, we had just come back from a camp in a place called Toowoomba, which is having horrific floods at the moment. We escaped one day before the place flooded.
Suddenly we were at a campsite (didn't see THAT coming) and we were walking around some random bush track, but the bush wasn't very thick, and the path was very wide like a road.
There was water on the path, like a massive puddle about 30 metres long. We had just walked through it when we heard an announcement saying that the water was electrified from lightning and was poisonous as well. I stayed at the edge of the puddle, but my friend LostInLA started wading back through the water to where we came from, thinking it was better. I called out but she didn't hear me.

      Dream 3:

I was at a beach place, like where I normally go for a holiday. My mum and dad were driving me to the unit we have rented. It was a nice day, but the whole time there was a feeling of imminent danger. We were inside the unit, and my dad was in the bathroom grooming in the mirror as if for a special occasion. My mum was nearby. In my room, there was a toilet next to my bed.
For some reason, I asked my mum if I could jerk off before we go (seriously wtf?), to which she explained that I'm not supposed to ask, just not be caught :S.
We were outside again and I think that "danger" came and I woke up

In all the dreams, it was cloudy. Today it was cloudy.

      Cousin's dream:

She was with me and her mum at the shops near her house, and it flooded.

    4. Lucid, but INTERRUPTED!

by , 12-27-2010 at 12:24 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
I was at my church with the Pathfinders. The leader was the main focus of my dream for some reason. After just standing around not doing much, we suddenly decided that we had to get in the car and go somewhere. After a short memory gap of our leader just driving, we were suddenly in the middle of Sydney with sky-scrapers all around.

The road in front of us suddenly went up almost vertically, and we were driving up it like normal. Kind of like Inception, but it was only the road, and it didn't curl over. We went really high up, but not above the buildings. The other side only had a small decline.

Suddenly I was outside the car, and lucid. I found myself standing in a marketplace like Chinatown. I rubbed my hands together (a personal favourite of mine) and kept doing so while walking down the narrow market lane. The kept on rubbing my hands, until my dream became so vivid that I could taste the city air. The small market buildings were bright yellow.

I decided I was stable enough to start flying without waking up accidentally. I sort of jumped, and I floated up onto a roof. I ran along the roofs and leap/floated over the gaps. At one point I had to jump really hard to get onto a 4-storey building, but when I did, I almost felt like I wasn't going to stop flying upwards (like in old dreams from years ago) and continue into space. But just before the panic broke in, I simply dropped back down and onto the roof. *PHEW*

I felt a bit of adrenaline, which can wake you up, but it didn't. I was standing at the beginning of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, although it was much smaller. I started thinking about what I was going to do. I thought about the advanced Task of the Month, the one about Whoville, but I thought "Meh, screw it!" and decided I was going to dream-visit the people on my list who have asked me to make them lucid through a Shared Dream. I was about to spin...

And my parents yelled too loudly, I woke up and actually spun in my bed, it was so fast.
    5. Lucid again!!! :)

by , 12-20-2010 at 11:26 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
I was in a random place, I wish I remember where, but I randomly became lucid. I had already done the snowball task, so I tried for the Whoville one again. I spun around, and I was in a different place, but I was really dizzy from spinning around. I tried to spin again to get to Whoville, but it didn't work, so I tried flying there.

I was in a backyard. I jumped high to try and fly, but it didn't work, so then I took a run-up and leaped up into the air, and it worked.
I went up really high really fast, into the twilight sky, but it made me wake up. I tried to focus on the backyard again to go back into the dream, but I woke up.

    6. 3rd Lucid - I'm part of the community now :3 - DILD

by , 12-15-2010 at 05:12 AM (Beyond the Horizon)
I tried FILDing but I fell asleep.

I was in my primary school staff room (for the 100th time) and I looked at my hands and did a fingercount. Everything was normal.

Something made me look at my hand again, it was still normal, but I said "This is a dream". I went outside the room to a balcony and remembered the snowball Task of the Month, so I tried to pick up some snow from nowhere, but when I threw it, nothing came out of my hand.

I went down the stairs to a grass quadrangle, and I made snow appear on the grass, I picked it up and made it into a ball and threw it at someone. Ive never felt real snow before so it felt like the ice in a freezer.

I remember flying up suddenly really high into space, and passing the moon which may have had shared dreamers on it.

My cousin and his dad were there doing something strange.
      MEMORY GAP
I only remember when they start wearing werid masks and making a really weird, freaky, almost satanic laughing noise/chant. There were suddenly a whole bunch of people doing the same thing. I started to get scared at it was night suddenly, so I yelled "Disappear!" along with an appropriate arm movement (that's how I control) and they vanished.

I yelled "Daytime!" and moved my arms like I was sending the moon down past the horizon and pulling the sun up. It was still dim so I yelled "Brighter. Brighter! BRIGHTER!!" until it was normal daytime.

I remembered that I had to get to Whoville for the other task. The quadrangle had four walls around the outside, so when I spun to another place, the walls were still there so I made them disappear one by one.

As I was doing this a teacher from my high school was there and said "You look like a crazy person when you do that." I said "Well, I'm dreaming so it doesn't matter. This is a dream.

Then I started losing lucidity as I was waking up, because random half-naked manga girls were walking around the grassy hills I was standing in, and unicorns from Charlie the Unicorn were appearing. Nearby my dad said "What are you watching?"

I woke up to an alarm in another room

I don't even read manga/watch erotic anime FWIW

    7. FILD - Finger Induced Lucid Dream - FIRST TIME

by , 12-14-2010 at 02:19 AM (Beyond the Horizon)
I just finished reading the FILD technique thread and was eager to try it.

I woke up sometime early in the morning, about 7:00 (it's holidays ) and started doing the movements. Then I remembered I had to RC after a minute. As I went to pinch my nose, it was like I had another arm. Since I was lying on my side, I shouldn't have been able to move my left arm.

I could breathe through my nose, and I thought Wow, it actually worked!. I then woke up because I didn't stabilize.

I tried it again, and this time I kept breathing through my plugged nose so I would be more in the dream. I got up and stood in my room for a second, then I spun around and I was half-taken to the place in my imagination that I've always wanted to go. I could see it, but I could see my room at the same time.

      I don't remember after that.

    8. My first lucid dream.

by , 12-09-2010 at 12:19 AM (Beyond the Horizon)
Towards the end of my sleep, I kept getting plonked right in the middle of annoying situations. The second last one was at my primary school and I was still doing work experience. Our class had to get on a bus for an excursion, but the class was split into 3 and one of the groups thought I was an actual teacher and just got on the bus.

I got on too, and the bus drove off. I was trying to decide whether I should have waited for the teacher, because I could get into serious trouble. I eventually decided to tell the bus driver to stop, but a teacher randomly appeared on the bus and said "It's okay, I'm a teacher."

I sat back down and some kids were talking about Gold Class cinemas. I said "You can put your seat all the way back in Gold Class."
      __________________________________

Immediately my dream cut to me sitting in a Gold Class cinema, but I had come with nobody. So, rather than waste the $50 on seeing the movie with no one else, I decided to go back out and get a ticket refund before half an hour into the movie. The beginning of the movie had the Columbia logo where there is a lady holding a torch. As I was walking towards the door, I thought "Why do I keep ending up right in the middle of situations? I must be dreaming."

Unlike the other lucid moments I've had, this realisation came on slowly, so I didn't wake up. All I did, because I was so happy, is rub my hands. It felt so real, but this time I knew it was still just a dream.

I proceeded to walk outside the cinema, rubbing my hands the whole time, as I was just about to change the scene...

Someone turned on the shower in the room next to me, waking me up.
    9. 3rd Lucid moment

by , 10-08-2010 at 02:48 AM (Beyond the Horizon)
I was out in my street at daytime, with random people. I'm not sure what we were doing, but it involved some huge guy who looked weird. I was with my school friends.

Suddenly the scene changed to night time, which I hate in dreams because it's dark. I went towards my street light and I became lucid. I instantly woke myself up because I didn't want to stay there any longer.

    10. Crazy Layered Dream!!

by , 09-21-2010 at 12:06 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
I went to bed after listening to some new songs, and the weirdest dream I have ever had.

In a room in a warehouse with LostInLA and other church friends. I knew I was in a dream, but I wasn't lucid; it was part of the story. Me and LostInLA wanted to have a shared dream, so we lay on these reclined chairs and took a pill each. I bit into mine and tried to swallow the liquid inside it. As I did something was wrong; people said "No Kevin!"
I think I took the wrong pill.

I went into a dream, I felt like it was my own mind. I was walking around in my dream. It was a normal place and the dream was very stable and deserted. I was thinking about how I would be in this dream for ages because dreamtime is faster and I was supposedly two layers down.

I was walking up this road toward the spot where I had my first lucid moment. I looked behind me and the sun was setting until it was night.
      *MEMORY GAP*

I looked up and It was morning in my dream and I made my way towards where I entered this dream. I saw some stairs which I climbed. At the top there was a doctor's office. I asked the receptionist if I could sit here because I was tired of just walking around. She said yes.

There were two other people waiting for the doctor. My church friend Rachael came out of the doctors office and I said "What are you doing here?" I thought it was just my dream. She said something like "I've been here since I got sick."
      *MEMORY GAP*

I realized I was dreaming FOR REAL sometime later. Everything was white and I yelled "Increase clarity now!" three times and rubbed my hands, but again, it felt like I was doing it for real in my bed and that it was too late.

      WTF?!
I think that lucid dreaming feels so real that I think I'm really doing the reality check. Grr...

I woke up into the first dream, after everyone was crowded around me shaking me to wake me up.

Later, I showed LostInLA my cast coming off; I pulled my arm out of it and it was all sticky and gross. She was like "Ewwww..."

      I woke up.

There was much more than that though. Something about a bus.

    11. 5-second DILD!! :D

by , 09-11-2010 at 03:11 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
      OKAY, well...
I am running how I normally run in dreams - with great difficulty, huge long strides - down the road at night not far from where I live. I'm in the left lane, which is the one closest to the footpath/sidewalk in Australia.

I just pass through an intersection when I hear a car behind me. I run onto the footpath, but the car swerves as if I'm still on the road. It goes onto the footpath in front of me, and crashes into a pole. "Oh no!" I look over and see cars stopped at the traffic lights. I run over and ask one for their phone. My year 3 teacher gives me hers. I look up and see all the emergency vehicles around. I run back over...
But in the middle of the road, the old lady who crashed says "Here he is; the boy who was running on the road!!"
I think to myself Why was I running on the road, if I wasn't supposed to?

      I'm dreaming
Immediately all the people froze. Okay, I can't panic or I'll wake up. What am I supposed to do? Stimulate my senses!
I stare at the road, which gets really detailed, but it's not enough. I decide to clap three times, but as I do, I can hear it echoing around my bedroom. I thought Oh, it's too late. I'm going to wake up. Everything goes grey.

I see the word ALLUSION for a second.
      I wake up.

After about 30 minutes I realised Wait a second, I have a cast on, I can't clap! The claps really were in my dream, dammit >

    12. I think I had a lucid!!!

by , 08-06-2010 at 01:34 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
      ...but I can't remember it!
I vaguely remember spinning to change the scene in front of me, then I did it again. I think I could see a white place, then I woke up.

I thought to myself "Hmm... maybe I should write this down... Nah, too tired..."
I didn't really feel like getting up and turning on the light.

How do you get yourself up in the middle of the night?
