    First Lucid dream this year

    by , 02-27-2013 at 11:34 AM (959 Views)
Finally I got a lucid dream!

    Bedtime: 01:30
    First wakeup: 08 : ??
    - wrote up the fragment and wrote "/I'm dreaming" and "/Thanks for dreamrecall" (but in my language) -
Final wakeup: 09:50, right after the lucid dream.
    Supplements: none

    Elevator and street (Lucid dream)
Me and my friend Mattias was in some kind of building. Not sure why we were there, but there was massive of people that followed us. We started to run and came into an elevator.
I quickly pressed in a code [4-1-1-1] as I remember that would get us up to the top of the building rapidly fast. But it didn't work, instead it became only a number 1, which made the elevator to go down.

When the elevator just had stopped, I told my friend to wait as I wanna see if this is a dream. So I ran towards the elevator door that was made of wood, and jumped with my head first. I went through the door and appeared on a street.

I had no idea what I would do now. Somehow I just chosed to drive MC in the traffic.
BUT, the weird thing was that I felt my legs in the bed, it was like pointing down in a 45 degree angle. It felt quite great to swing to right and left, except for the feelings in the legs.

I started to wonder if I really are lucid dreaming or just day dreaming. I tried to listen and focus on the sounds, and I started to hear bus and other sounds you may hear in a traffic. The sounds felt very real and that made me more sure that I wasn't awake, that I really did lucid dream.

I then stopped and thought of try to fly, as I remember that's a goal I have. But I had hard to stand straight up because of the feelings in the legs.

I then started to wonder if I am breathing, that what if my body just stops breath. So I tried to breath but I didn't feel any air. I got worried and thought I might just try wake up.
I tried to open the eyes, but it simply didn't work. I tried to roll aside, but that didn't work.
Started to get panic and I shouted "HELP!", but only a small sound came out. But some seconds later I woke up.

I also noticed I woke up on the other side of bed than in the dream I thought I were. I always sleep the 'correct' way in my bed. But in my dream I had my head where I have my feets, and my feets where I have my head.

    That's it.

The black cat with puke/vomit (dream)
There was a black cat outside my apartment (the cat seemed to be mine and I had to forget to take in the cat). The cat had vomit/puke on him, spots here and there.
I took him in to my house (to my room that looks like my real room that I'm in right now).
He wanted to go outside, so he tried to escape through my airing gap near the window. But he didn't fit through and I catched him. I was going to clean him but wasn't sure what other than water I would use.

    And there dream recall ended.

    Malin and her friend (fragment)
Me, my gf Malin and her friend Josefin was in my gf's livingroom watching some kind of movie. My gf had fixed her gelé nails as she said she would do. They were blue. But they wasn't that long, and it looked just like she had put on nail polish.

    That's all I recalled today.

Congratulations on the lucid! Great work picking up on the "malfunctioning electronics" dreamsign. I get this one all the time and I almost always miss it!

I then started to wonder if I am breathing, that what if my body just stops breath. So I tried to breath but I didn't feel any air. I got worried and thought I might just try wake up.
LOL. Don't you hate when your brain plays these mind games with itself? In one of my early lucids, a DC tried to convince me that all circulation had been cut off to my legs and that if I didn't wake up soon they were going to have to amputate.

The best advice I can give there is to occasionally reflect on how profoundly safe of an activity lucid dreaming really is. We have the freedom to do any crazy thing that we can imagine but our physical selves are always in perfect safety. It's a very cool thing. If you occasionally spend some time thinking about this, it should help soften some of that anxiety.

      Anyway, nice job!

      Thank you !
Though, I think reason due I became aware was that I was thinking of another dream when I was pushing the buttons in the elevator, and that somehow made me wonder if this would be a dream. Might also just been because of yesterday I tried do some reality checks during day and I performed MILD/DILD when going to bed, and the first time I woke up after 8am, I wrote down "I'm dreaming" and also wrote a thanks for the dreamrecall (I got that tips from gab yesterday, as she linked me to a post she made before and I read some of it). And that maybe helped it a lot to make me more aware and get in the thoughts of that I'm dreaming.

Yeah, I really never been afraid before. My previous lucid dreams has been that I've become very hyper and lost all control and dream faded out or that I haven't had any much control at all. But I never really been afraid of it. But well, this time I did get quite afraid and I'll take your advices

Oh nice tip from gab there! Thanks for sharing that. I should try some time spending my entire WBTB writing "I'm dreaming" hundreds of times until I fall over from fatigue. (Hopefully into a lucid dream. )

I hear you on the excitement. That's probably harder to get over than the fear IMO. At least with fear you know it's irrational and that LD is 100% safe. With the excitement, though... come on, let's be honest, lucid dreaming is a seriously exciting idea. With MILD, I found that when I visualized myself becoming lucid, it was helpful to picture myself calmly but aggressively interacting with the dream environment, unsurprised by what was happening.

The honest truth, though, is that there are still situations where excitement gets the best of me. Sometimes I have to salvage those with DEILD or some variant of DEILD. Hey, if you get one of those dreams where it starts to fade out, one idea that has worked well for Xanous and myself is to just start doing some very physical activity that is evocative or familiar. For Xanous, he imagines riding a bike. Since I'm in the spirit of the Task of the Year, I start swinging a Roman sword (a gladius) around everywhere. We've found that this extends the dream and may give you time to imagine a new scene forming. This has saved my bacon in several of my recent dreams, so could be worth a shot if you get that fading problem again!

Good luck on the next LD! Won't be long now.

Yeah, it was this thread she linked me to that I read about it, a list of what can be written into the dream journal I've near my bed ( http://www.dreamviews.com/dild-gab/1...ods-dilds.html ).
No idea if it will work better the more you write it, maybe will. But I think it was great for me to write it up so it really gets out in mind, maybe I should even speak it up. As I did it right after the first wakeup and recall, and then went to bed straight after written it down and I really had nothing else in my mind than lucid dream, it might been one of the reasons for me becoming aware.

Yeah, I don't know why I'm not very excited about it in the dreams now. I think it was the previous dream, neither there I was excited, not so excited that it caused me to drop off the awareness. I think it just fades away over the first few lucid dreams, atleast it seems so for me. I do though find lucid dreaming very interesting and something I would love to do so often as possible.

Ah alright, thanks for the tips

Previous year I'd 4 lucid dreams, that's an 1 LD's every 3rd month in average. This year I hope to increase it. Hoping for atleast 10 lucid dreams this year. As I got nothing doing these days (no job and no studying, yet), I will put more effort into lucid dreaming.
I'm atm applying for an basic military education, if I get in, I will be busy in 3 months and might not have time to keep a dream journal and write in it every morning etc but else I guess doing being aware of the surroundings (which I guess would be excellent in the education), like the All Day Awareness technique, will be great and lead to more chances to get lucid.

Thanks and goodluck to you too
