    Dreaming on my feet

    Hi everybody!

I've been trying to lucid dream since like April of 2009, with a few lapses in effort here and there- and just had my first lucid in September of 2010!

This is my DJ obviously, I will post interesting and lucid dreams up here once a week along with personal commentary and thoughts on the subject of Lucid Dreaming.

Thoughs, comments, advice - I welcome all of it gladly.

    Friendly conversation, too

    1. Quick Lucid Dream Acrobatics

by , 10-30-2010 at 06:08 PM (Dreaming on my feet)
      Type: Lucid, quick, Nose-plug RC
      Vividness: 7/10
      Lucidity: 5/10

I was driving passenger in my friend David's black truck who I live with, down an old country neighborhood road with four or five houses on either side, very open, autumn or late summer, hazel tall grass and a nice breeze. Passes a huge, barn red, 3 or 4 story house with a walk out basement on the left, and I feel that I had passed that house and remember doing some sort of work in it with David [dream frag from earlier]. We get to the bottom of the hill and arrive at a while barn-ish house, and David tells me that a man across the lake bought a big portion of property and is brewing his own spirits this year, "I hope it will be good", and he keeps kind of mumbling on about it while I get a strange intuitive feeling that I've been here before. I peer out the window and there's an old house with just the foundations remaining and some wooden boards, only one part of a wall still standing, I think it's strange that there's another house on this property, so I ask myself "what would this be like if I were dreaming?" and start to become more aware and focus on the details of the situation I'm in.
We pull around and we're infront of a small building, and D is asking his wife who is a doctor [not in RL] for some sort of herb to help me since he thinks I'm going crazy [probably an effect of my increased awareness, mind tricking/distracting me]. Then suddenly I'm in an old one room building with big cobblestone walls and a dirt floor , huge oak 6x6 rafters vaulting above, D sitting with our neighbor at a series of long dark wooden tables discussing how I think that I'm dreaming and they need to do something to help me.
At this point I do my nose plug RC and I can breathe in, although my nose is stuffed up and it's kind of hard to tell, but I declare the test successful. I feel nervous about flying [first instinct] so I swing myself up onto the beams and start climbing around like a squirrel on all fours, jumping and hanging off of the beams just having some plain and simple fun, laughing at David and telling him that I'm dreaming.

The lucid stops pretty soon after when my alarm goes off for work.

So yeah, a quick and fun lucid, it felt light and refreshing. I'm still amazed of the feeling of the absolute clarity of my lucid dreams and body. I find it so hard to tell the difference, but this has also inspired me to check my surroundings and RC with more.. well, conviction, since I have the feeling in my bones of what it's like to be in a lucid after having a few this month. It's just like waking life! CRRAAZZZYY.

I need to find another type of reliable RC, I don't like the hands one too much, and while I do the text-turn away-read again RC every day, I don't usually find myself in an area with a clock or text while I'm dreaming. Will investigate/try to create one next time I LD, like see how easy it is for me to do certain things like produce powers or telekenisis. I will also remember my intention to not fly or do anything crazy, and focus my attention on the dream scene and establishing a technique for improving my clarity and awareness.

Also, if you haven't read it juroara wrote a great thread on Dream Affirmations, can help those struggling with MILD and will-power/belief.

Awesome stuff. I'm happy and excited that I had two LD's in a week!

    2. Stress = bad recall

by , 10-29-2010 at 12:19 AM (Dreaming on my feet)
Well, no dreams since I'm short on time. I'm moving Monday the 1st and I'm sad to be leaving where I live now, and don't know what I'm going to do when I leave really.

As a result, I'm stressed kind of and have had practically no recall the past several nights and no lucids also. Taking the time to just.. do some personal analysis from my DJ which I've been getting a lot out of.

Good lucids to all, and to all a good night.

      BTW..

    3. huge friends make me lucid

      Type: Lucid, quick, Nose-plug RC

      Big Friends
I was in a place that looked like a movie theatre, not sure why I was there but I wasn't really thinking about that, I was talking to three of my best friends, S J and M. I ask all of them if they want to go out and do something and they all are acting quite stand-off ish saying "No, we're going to go to Colorado and go snowboarding." I notice that I am having to strain my neck looking upwards to see their faces, and they seem to be about eight or nine feet tall, and my friend M has his arm amputated just above the elbow and it's bandaged in white gauze. This is strange so I do a nose plug RC and breathe in three times successfully, and I'm aware that I'm dreaming.

I don't bother trying to talk to my friends since they have been stand off-ish anyways, so I walk up a slight incline and enter a semicircular shaped restraunt, with big windows and booths against the wall like any classic diner. I focus on all the different people sitting in the booths, and recognize a girl R that I had dated for a little while two years ago, and approached her at the booth. We both just looked at each other and didn't say anything, which is a very nice encounter. At this point I can't think of anything I want to do in this restaurant so I pick her up in my arms, and jump into the air and spin to try to create a new dream scene. The only problem is that I wasn't focusing on maintaining lucidity while changing the scene, or imagining where I want to end up, so I lost R and found myself only semi-lucid in a new dream scene.

I'm in a public place, some vague looking American east coast city, I do a nose plug RC several times and it works, but the dream is fading quickly and I get nervous yelling stabilize! since there are so many people around me [waking residue since I have a room mate next door to me, paper thin walls], I think about doing some different things but the dream keeps fading and a lose lucidity .

MM so that's it! LD 4.
I spent the night before this going over my DJ from the last month, putting together dreamsigns and thinking about the nature, common trends and dimensions of my dreams. I also slept in from 12:30-7:30, then got up and walked around outside for an hour and focused on my senses, very beautiful brisk morning, all the trees bare and the ground frosted, no sounds at all from birds singing or cars passing, even the dogs weren't barking. Really nice. Then I went back to my room feeling refreshed and spent about an hour sitting quietly reading my DJ and doing visualizations. So yeah, I guess you could call this a WBTB/DILD induced?

Anyway, short but sweet. I've tried to transition the scene in 2/4 lucids and failed both times. Got to read up on it more and hang a reminder list next to my bed .

I met my goal of having 2 LDs by Oct 31st, then again met my "extra credit" goal of having 4 !! So I'm happy about that and feeling inspired.

I hope everybody is having fun lucid dreaming and are meeting their own goals and feeling great about it!
    4. Little girls are in fact EVIL

      Hi
      Type: Non-lucid, vivid, memorable
      Lucidity: [1/10]
      Vividness: [9/10]

A family reunion at a resort settled on the side of a gorgeous beach, rock faced cliff leading down to the beach, huge glass doors, the whole shibang. It's a beautiful sunny summer day, dark green foliage and healthy trees everywhere, white sand. All is well, children playing, until one of the Aunts of the family notice the youngest child of the family is missing, a little girl. The whole family searches around the house, no girl - spreads the search outside around the house toward the beach, everyone is calling for her. As more time passes without finding her, the girl's mother becomes more and more frantic and paranoid [as any mother would in the situation]. Since these huge rocks [like Red Rocks in Denver, except normal looking with green moss] are right behind the house, the mother is convinced she's fallen off and everyone heads down to the beach below and recruit the beach goers for a search party. A bell sounds in the distance and everybody gathers around - a man sees something in the near distance floating in to shore.

The scene skips to flashes of some pictures of the little girl laughing and playing with a guy in his early thirties probably, pretty normal looking, that somebody must have taken earlier that day, showing that she must have been abducted by this man and killed. The family finds the work-place of the guy since he is nowhere to be found, a video rental/convenience store, and go there late at night after they hold the girl's funeral on the side of the hill near the place she died.. The father of the girl walks behind the counter and register and holds him up against the wall by his throat, acusing him of what he did and getting angry, not shouting angry but more of a morbid/calm/sad anger instead of hysterics. The whole family files in behind him, takes pictures of this happening, and proceeds to walk around the store like tourists, beach clothes, big glasses and all, checking out the movies available and eating food off the shelves [evidently terrorizing the guy]. Some of them go outside to smoke periodically. They leave after a bit , silently staring at the clerk [stealing lots of stuff from the store as they go], push him over and say "This isn't over."

Focus switches to the clerk ,sitting on the ground behind the counter with a kind of confused, thoughts burning through his head - he never abducted any girl. He was spending his break on the beach, and happened to walk past a little girl with a sunhat and dress on. She looked up and smiled at him, and as if the rug was pulled out from under his feet, the world turns hellish - black stormy sky, the girl has become a nude red demon with distorted and malicious looking features, and the ocean has morphed into a swirling vortex of fire and lava. The demon grabs his leg and starts hauling at his leg, pulling him into the ocean of fire. He loses conciousness, and comes to his senses lying on the beach, alone. He looks into his lap, where the family threw the pictures of him playing with the girl happily, hauntedly.

After this I'm on the hill where the girl is buried, digging through her coffin, which is like a shell of a coffin around hers, so she's not lying there dead or anything. It's dark out, waning moon and lots of stars, it seems that the hill is near the backyard of the supposed abductor. I'm looking through this bag and I find a comic, which shows the entire dream I just had, and at the end it shows this place 2,000 years later, and the place where the girl pulled him into the fire, there is a swirling rock formation that resembles the vortex that had appeared. This adds to the creepiness of the whole thing, and I run down to the water to investigate. I'm wearing beach clothes, feel the cool sand under my feet. Incredibly clarity. Well, there's nothing there, just an ordinary beach, and I run back up to the coffin to fetch the comic book to show my friends, but when I look it is no longer there! I don't feel compelled to open the casket, nor fearful of it particularly, but close the coffin and start heading to my car. As I do my black cat Tori runs past me and meows, I chase and pet her a bit [ADHD LOL] then dash to my car to drive off quickly since I'm trespassing on this guy's property. I get in, foot on the break, try to quickly search for my keys where I usually stash them - find it! - fumble a bit and stick it into the ignition, lights on, turn the key and the car won't start and I wake up.

This reinforces, yet again, that driving a car is one of my most frequent dream activities, for whatever reason. I've been in a car in several dreams just in this past week. I've resolved to do an RC every single time I get into a car from now on . If I'm in a car and realized I haven't RC'd yet, then I missed the target but RC anways. This way I'll have it in my head "did I RC when I got in the car?", and if I didn't I might think to myself "Well how and when did I get in this car? Who is with me?" and might impel me to examine my situation more intently and BAM LUCIDITY.

well.. that's the plan at least.

    5. Majestic Leaves Have Fallen

by , 10-13-2010 at 01:34 AM (Dreaming on my feet)
Another dream that's really hard to explain aside from what I wrote down, so I'll use the same method as my last DJ post.

      1) Cutting down trees, cut them down to clear out a space for an area to build a house. Picking up old roots and pieces of wood from unever, loamy, dark and healthy soil with two other from where I live.

[I then wake up and read or meditate for a bit, then back to sleep]

2)Building a house without nails, and C confesses to a girl on the scene, maybe to H, using or with a stuffed animal in a cute indirect fashion which is characteristic of him. Switching to a School-ish/auditorium type building, very huge and grandeur, dark maple banisters and wall design, big off white/dark wall lamps and chandeliers, dark red or brownish wall color like the Fox theatre in Detroit. C is completely passed out drunk [he usually doesn't drink much] after being turned down. Scene loses much sensibility, I'm exploring the vast space of the hall/room with my vision, and kick a soccer ball very high and break a lamp. This all switches to me and C on stage with what appears to be a class, all dressed in tuxedos, with my dream being presented or displayed on a big projector screen, with an audience, ending in applause.

[Not sure if the whole dream was being played on that screen or if it was just part of a transition. ]

3)Dream flashback of a dream I had many years ago, like ten years again, of playing soccer at the horse race tracks downtown at my hometown, viewing the game and events from the view of a bird flying around. I'm running around after that, not sure from what, some group conflict with an older team chasing after me or something.

4)J, my sister, is in a kitchen with the lights off. Mom and dad are asleep in chairs at a table, there are three doors leading to the room, all of which are open. I walk in one of them, and Jessie is holding knives and appears to be gaurding/watching for something at the one door which leads outside. I immediately go to grab some knives, and try to find the best knives that are usually in my kitchen where I currently live. I have trouble finding the one I really want, a sharp heavy chef's knife with a black handle, but settle for a thinner one, longer and also pretty sharp, wooden handle but not as effective. I grab two actually. I am waiting for whatever is out there but it doesn't come, so I walk through the door to find out what is there, J is warning me not to go out, asks "what are you doing?" and I ask her if she wants to come along or not while walking away over a huge open grass feild on a slight hill, trees without leaves bordering the land further away, feeling of just before winter like the weather actually is now, cloudy cold and windy. There is a big log cabin about 100m away in the distance I start to walk towards it. Jessie finally leaves the room and starts to follow me, a bit of a ways back.

Two military looking vehicles pull up, like quads but with six wheels and big, camofl. They stop close to me and I tell J to run back inside and she does. One is an officer, the other a soldier type. Officer trying to like.. befriend me, decieve me despite that they are obviously antagonistic and he is being decietful. "We can all get along", but I'm not buying it and not talking at all really. I have the knives hidden behind my back, temporarily forgotten. I go closer to the gaurd, and jump up to his level, like I'm flying or floating, to intimidate him/ a show of my powers, I see his gun though and say "holy shit that's so cool!" and we nerd out about his gun, one side automatic, but the butt of the gun can kind of disconnect/dislatch and can be used as a handgun. He's explaining it to me and the officer throws me his to look at it, and I examine the gun. Looks similar to an xbox controller, really boxy but not squar, buttons similar. I keep talking about it jovially while sizing them up, then shoot the officer twice, he tries to zip away but I kill him and his vehicle flips. I immediately dives sideways, and slow motion the gaurd and I use our pistols and shoot all our clip at one another. I kill him in the end and am unharmed.

I go back inside to J and parents and thte dream fades and I begin to wake up.

**I didn't get up immediatley and record dream, didn't even move at all, which led me back into the dream scene and a FA. Testifies Alan Worsleys method of entering back into Lucid Dreams and creating multiple LD's in a row using FA RCs.

      5) I'm sitting back in the kitchen I was just in with J, this time with two people I live/work with, like we're at breakfast. Same table we have, wooden, but darker and with boards instead of a big flat surface, kind of like a picnic table. I tell them I had dreams about C, and N tells me she had one about me too and begins to tell me, and I start to write hers down with a red pencil but it keeps smudging and breaking. I remember I need to record the dream I just had and appologetically interupt her and begin writing down the dream I just awoke from, in a red pencil also.. Then I realize I'm dream again and forcefully wake up and decide to record the dreams I just had since they were so intense and vivid.
SO, once again I had a FA involving the kitchen where I eat breakfast and the people I'm with, and also another dream scene where I'm writing in my dream journal. Last time this happened my DJ was college lined, which is not in actuality, and this time I was writing with a red pencil, which I do not write with in actuality.

I was at a house building site earlier in the day which explains the wood clearing dream, and was in a similar location. The second dream, in the auditorium had a very intense and epic feel to it, not negative in any way though. KInd of strange.
The last one with the gaurds was similar, interesting and q uirky, potential nightmare material but didn't turn into one at all.

I must resolve to RC every time I write down something in my DJ, since I have FA and often drift back into sleep and dream that I am writing down the dream I just awoke from, almost every day even, especially if i hit snooze. This is effective especially when I don't move a muscle upon waking. Thankfully my alarm is customizable and I set it just to go off after ten/20 seconds so I can accomplish this.

Good dreaming all, hope this was entertaining.
    6. Repeated scene, School fun.

by , 10-13-2010 at 12:50 AM (Dreaming on my feet)
Strange series of dreams earlier this week.

Gonna try to just directly record what I recorded in my DJ rather than interpret. See how that goes.

Flying in a circle in a room full of colors, heard a voice recite
      "Flying in our dreams,
it is lucky we do not
      have many doubts."

      1) H, J and M, dream where my parents were trying to hook me up with a person I live with, but it was very strange/ kind of scarring feeling since I would never think of doing something like that. They set up a tape recorder and fabricated evidence of me confessing love, I tell her about this and clarify that I do like her but do not want to marry her.

      2) Scene where a famliy, big extended family, all playing music together around a big piano, many instruments. I sit to join them and am welcomed because they can tell I am not having the best dreams tonight [lol] A little kid does something or keeps insisting on doing something different that makes the father angry and kind of ruins the good vibe

3a) I'm in a park, and have to pee so I go near some trees off a road, cemetary/public area feeling, and realize I am next some military school. Felt open and vast, big roads, maybe an elementary school like near where I grew up.

      b) Near the school at a sidewalk and see some kids that look like deadbeats, and try to advertize explain the concept of WWOOFing/ working for education, trying to get the lazy kids to do their party in society/ do their best but not convincing them.

      c) Walking along with friends past school and kids are outside, all ethnicities and races, sunny day green grass blue skies. So I feel that i want to play with them and start kicking around a soccer ball that suddensly was in the scene, which is very fun. This turns into a full fledged soccer game, with one net and many adults. I'm determined to have a good mood and break out of my funk, and while most of the game I feel like I'm not doing well, near the end I do my best and wind up scoring a goal at the last second and am victorious.

4)Breakfast at my childhood friend Joe's house, though the house doesn't look like his at all, more of a cabin. Drinking win with breakfast, and I take some sips bu tnot much. Joe leaves/ gest up and tries to get me to leave with him and says something I cannot understand. Then his Grandpa, who looks like Danny Devito comes upstairs decked out in hunting gear, saying tha's what the guys of their family do to get good spirits.

Funny thing is that all the dreams near the same school were divided by the rest of the other dreams, never in sequence, though they all took place near the same area. I woke up from the soccer dream, which was the last of the night, feeling great after just having scored and goal and won the game.

I find it interesting/funny that a common theme/ action of many of my dream characters was to make me feel better/ get out of the irritable mood that I was in during all of my dreams. I like that, and now that I look back must have been because I have been concentrating on not letting simple stupid things get me angry and dwelling on the things that do get me frusterated. Power of mind and meditation.

This dream actually took place the night before my previous entry.

It feels like it's been forever since my last lucid, but it's only been five days! Crazy, after not having been able to have a lucid for a full year. I've got to keep myself relaxed I think, and not pressure myself too much on progress, try to just stimulate my imagination and have fun with it all. I have a tendency to to bury my mind too much into one task and stress myself out about it, which results in -bad dreams, bad attitude, avoidance of the tast, and most importantly, no lucids! So that last two days I've kind of taken a break from dream research and just done casual RCs and not trying to do MILDS, just focused on getting a good night sleep and relaxing before bed, which did well since I recalled like.. six dreams last night? Which is more than usual. Don't want to burn out.

Anyway. Much love to all. I've been reading C. Jung's Memories, Dreams and Reflections and it's a FABULOUS book regarding one man's experience of his dream and inner conscious, and how dedicated he was to examining his own experiences and the ethical and moral responsibility he felt toward discovering his own true nature, for the sake of his patients and the benifit of humanity. A superb and inspiring book to any dreamers.. or just anybody.

    7. TWO lucid dreams. Testing common DV things

by , 10-08-2010 at 12:52 AM (Dreaming on my feet)
      Type: Lucid, fragmented, experimental.
      Lucidity: [3/10]
      Vividness: [2/10]

Well first of all let me say that having another lucid dream is a very reassuring thing to me, and also motivating - shows that my efforts, readings from all of you in the forums and books, are all having some sort of productive, positive effect! I tried for a year before I had my first LD, and was worried it was just random/by chance, but that occured on the 20th of September, so this was only a little more than two weeks apart. My LD goal was to have two lucid dreams by October 31st, and I've already accomplished that so early int he month. Woot.

      Anyways, the dreams-

First dream of the night I'm at a house party with people my age or just a little bit younger. Lots of fun, I'm drinking vodka but I really do not like vodka much , so I ask somebody if I can trade for their whiskey but am rejected so I go mix it with something and drink it anways [should've been a DS since I stopped drinking]. Lots of girls , really good time, pretty average sized house a little big, white walls and completely dark outside windows. Suddenly we learn that the cops are coming, and there are underage people there so we clean up remarkably fast and efficiently and there is only food and soda out. The cops pull up and are standing outside the door but don't knock for some reason, so I open the door and ask "How may I help you, officer?" and he responds by asking me why I just opened the door [which was pretty funny]. I"m worried since I don't want to be arresting purchasing for minors but they wind up arresting two other guys for completely unrelated reasons to the party and leave without trouble. I remember one of the guys having a bright orange bandana, plain, that just struck me as odd, possibly another DS.

I have another dream after that with the same cast of DC riding bikes or hanging otu near a lake outside, talking to girls, very summer ish, everything green nice big sky .
[it's autumn now, no green to be seen]

So I don't recall precisly how I became lucid or the dream leading up to it but this is what I remember of the first one

I'm walking along a cobblestone path, woods on either side of me, and I decide to RC for a reason I cannot recall. I do the looking at hands technique, and then the pinch-ing nose technique and it passes and I verify that I am dreaming. Last time I got over excited and frantically repeated to myself "I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming!" and lost control after about 15 seconds, so this time I was determined to remain calm and gently remind myself, which worked perfectly. I look at the ground, trying to focus my vision and repeat "stabilize" four times, without much effect, at least compared to the effect I expected it to have. Perhaps I just didn't repeat it emphatically enough, will try again in future. I felt a huge sensation of energy and heat flow through my body when I became lucid, and it was very pleasurable. The next part is a bit hazy, I'm kind of jumping around a house, through corridors, checking out rooms, wondering if I'm actually dreaming and keep RCing, worried that I'll hurt myself by flying or something. Almost walk in on my mom in the bathroom but she yells at me [weird but silly], I can't really think of what I want to do, not incredible lucidity or vividness, so I think "oh what the hell, I'll have sex" [since men can always think of that in any situation], so I enter a bathroom, big and plain with shower and big jacuzzi bathtub, ready for sex, and a gay guy is standing in there, and when I walk in he pulls down his pants and bends over, but thankfully his body is kind of plasticy and not incredibly realistic. At first I'm like "meh, it's just a dream, just want to test realness" but don't because.. well.. I'd rather have sex with a gorgeous woman! So I tell him that I want to have sex with the most beautiful woman, somebody I don't know, and he says fine and leaves the room, so I imagine the sexiest woman I can think of and she walks in the room. I must've put too much attention on the woman because when she came in I was viewing it in 3rd person, lucidity wavering but I've never experienced that so I didn't think to stabilize. So she kind of turned plastic-ish and kind of became a doll and the dream faded away

So I woke up from the dream, was about to record it in my DJ but first did a RC just for the hell of itand the nose pinch RC did to for me AGAIN! Awesome, glad I've been practicing that one in RL. False awaking FTW. So I'm lucid in my room, and decide to leave, walk out and I'm in a house different from where my room is, long hallway with windows, so I open the window and think about summoning a bow or sword to act out some Zelda situations [since my alarm is Zelda game boy tunes], but decide I don't really want to do that and fly out of the window to the ground, woods on both sides, dark sky like just after sunset, and a lake infront of me. As I was flying I tried to change the dream scene so I started to spin with my arms out and thought about going to a strip club to try the sex thing again, and closed my eyes, but amazing enough even though my eyes were closed, I guess my "dream eye"[?] wasn't closed with enough resolution and I could still see the scene around me, and the technique failed. So I'm on the ground and remember my intention/ goal to morph into an aquatic creature. So first I attempt running on water, and go across a small section of the lake, and it works, though I'm submerged up past my knees rather than on top, and my legs are burning from running/pedalling so fast. But still cool. So I'm on the other side, and a car drives into the water from around the bend, like on a highway completely natural, and I see the huge headlights under the water, and decide to dive in to get in the car and see what that's like, then try to morph, but at this time my ALARM goes off and I wake up

So yeah, those are my lucids! Not incredibly vivid, but I'm very excited about them anyways. The first one probably lasted five to ten minutes, and the second one only about three minutes due to the alarm.

Notes- In the lucid, my dream body felt SOOO natural it was great! I felt light, and fully in control, I had to keep questioning whether flying was safe since it felt so very real. "can I really do this, will I hurt myself?" The spinning dream scene change technique didn't work, but I can understand how it would, and will try again will definite success the next lucid dream I have. Also, I remember at some point during the first LD a fragment I forgot, I was going to have an orgasm but stopped the sex/activity or whatever was happening, since I remember that most people wake up and I wanted to test other things first. I will remember to try the whole way through[lol] another time to see what the circumstances are for myself, since LaBerge claims it doesn't happen with all people and I don't think it will for me since the lucidity at that point remained very vivid.

I found it difficult to create a new dream scene, and kept getting distracted by thinking "what do I want to do?" I opted against earth bending and sex for the majority of the lucid time because I didn't want to begin a fight unintentionally and turn it into a nightmare, didn't want sex because I didn't want to wake myself up, and didn't try to sit and close my eyes to dream- meditate for the same reason.

I think this was a result of a compulsion/urgency to control the LD because of a fear/ desire not to lose it and forget it, even though in the LD I experienced no loss of control, completely vividness, aside from when I was trying to control it and change things! Though I probably didn't lose my lucidity because I was so single minded on not losing it, but that was also most likely the cause of the bland lack of occurances in the dream. I probably blocked off other potential story lines and experiences because of it, resulting in lots of open spaces and corridors and a lack of other DC's, mostly dark and greyish lighting and color tones.

      I need to
A Catagorize more Dream Signs and re evaluate my dream goals, based off of interactions with dream characters for more variety, and also hold off on the sexual and potentially violent/advanced stuff until I'm more comfortable, lots of stuff left to test.

B Read about dream scene changing tactics and focus on visualizing myself stabilizing the dream via techniques like focusing on each individual sense, etc. Will try the "stabilize" thing more since it doesn't take much effort, didn't really lose anything by doing it.

Anyway, thanks for reading, I would really appreciate any advice. What you focus on for incredibly basic aspects of LD DC interaction goals, and simple environment testing things? Trying to control flight more carefully? Trying to start conversation with DC as a way to get a dream cookie? Experiment with time? Change the color of my shirt?

      Thanks a ton in advance!

    8. Memorable Dream, Sacred Pool & Eternity

by , 10-05-2010 at 01:37 AM (Dreaming on my feet)
I've entered some type of sanctuary, in a place that's like a crevice in a sandstone mountain/rock, with a pool of water in the middle about waist deep with massive, beautiful trees with huge trunks growing out of the pool, with leaves like a willow, flowering. There's a stone path I can see on the pools floor, and a stone path around the side of the pool. I am walking around the path, and there are some people dressed mostly in black sitting against the wall that seem to be praying or contemplating. I get an intense feeling that this place is sacred, and walk slowly and act accordingly. I come across a type of gaurd, sitting cross legged dressed completely in black robes with a type of mask/head dress. The gaurd does not move as we pass, and just beyond there is a ledge leading into the pool, the stone path is infront of me, and I step in the pool feeling the gaurd's approval to my entering the pool in some sort of direct communication method. The people that I am with walk through the pool to the right along that path, underneath a stone arch in the wall that leads to another room. Wading in the pool I admire the beauty around me and walk to the left toward the trees, and I notice an unusual pattern in the rock wall infront of me, like icycles or the types of rock formations you find hanging down from caves like pillars or spikes. I see that the formation continues down into the water, so I take a deep breath and submerge. Looking ahead, the pillars continue down [only waist deep or a little more, and the place is dark, yet at the same time a reddish-orange glow radiates from the corner, and it seems to get deeper and deeper, and I am suddenly seized with panic and fear, and percieve the place not necessarily to represent hell or evil, but eternity, fear, inhuman, dark, perilous. I jump up from the water and look around to find my friends and tell them what has just happened and leave the place, but I am still curious, and master my fear and submerge again. This time I gaze into the abyss, between two tree trunks, and while it looks the same, I see it this time without fear, and it fills me with a sense of eternity, calm, orderly, representing death to me. I sit cross legged, on the floor of the water and breathe underwater, and just gaze into it and filled with a profound sense of calmness of mind, and nothing else.

This dream held a lot of meaning for me while it happened, and ever since it has happened I can remember the entire vividly. I've come to feel that the dream has some parallel toward my attitude about death, or attitudes, if you will. The gaurd and how we communicated is still has me struck dumb. I'm not big into dream interpretation but it seems to blatant to overlook.
