    1. Sibling Disposal Machine

by , 09-15-2011 at 10:46 AM (Dream Space, The Final Frontier)
      Engraved Bible
I am in a church for a ceremony. It feels like a graduation or confirmation. Everyone is dressed up and near the front of the church. They keep trying to hand me a very expensive and old looking, golden engraved bible. I keep refusing it.

      Sanctuary Spirit
I am a nun or other catholic leader. There is a protective spirit in the church. I defend its right to be there against an argument that another church member has. They want it gone because it is a relic and possibly dangerous, but I know that it helps the church and should stay.

      Sibling Disposal?
My Uncle Gary has been storing things in a cave/sewer system beneith his yard. We climb down there for him to show me. It looks like a natural cave, but there are some drainage pipes pouring out water in some places. There's a large muddy area with pebbles on top that is absorbing much of the water. My uncle sweeps the pebbles together effortlessly to keep the water where it should be and away from his things. To climb back out, you have to go up a well. The stones on the walls are hard to grab onto. It's a very tight fit and at first I don't see how I will make it. I squeeze through and end up inside a house that I assume is his.

My sister decides she wants to go down to see the caves too. Now the entrance to the cave is a washing machine. My sister climbes into the washing machine to start to go down. I offer to go turn on the lights. The first switch I flip turns on the overhead light. It is one of those rather plain-looking glass bowls that lots of older houses or cheap apartments have. When I flip the second switch to give her more light, the washing machine suddenly turns into a garbage disposal and my sister screams out in pain. I quickly turn the second switch back off but it takes a second for the disposal to stop spinning. I tell her, "I am so sorry!" It's so terrifying and I feel so bad that I wake up.

    2. Dark and Dangerous Dog

by , 09-05-2011 at 07:06 PM (Dream Space, The Final Frontier)
I am at my parent's old house. It's dark outside and windy. There is a vicious growl outside. I peer outside the side door (which does not have a window in real life, but has a curtained window in this dream). There is a large, scary dog down the porch steps. I can't see it too clearly because it is so dark outside and windy. I check the door's lock. I have a dreaded feeling that our puppy, Jack (a dog my sister once had) is outside on the porch. Sure enough, he is outside, tide to the porch rails. I fear that the light switch won't work. It's an old-fashioned two button switch (in real life a normal light switch was beside the door). The light does not come on. For a moment, I consider that it is an odd coincidence that everything I predict will happen seems to come true (almost a lucid moment, but not quite). I am so fearful for the puppy and terrified of the large dog at the same time. I wake up in a panic.

    3. Dreaming of False Sleep Paralysis

by , 09-05-2011 at 07:02 PM (Dream Space, The Final Frontier)
I dream that I have sleep paralysis. I need to get up and check the doors and locks. I roll out of bed and crawl along the floor. I can feel the carpet, the walls and doors as I make my way around my apartment. I feel very heavy and lethargic. Every so often I feel my eyes open and I can see my pillow. I'm still in bed, but I can feel the apartment as I grope around to check the locks on the doors. I somehow know my body is moving around the apartment but my mind is stuck in bed. Maybe I'm imagining my movement around the apartment but am stuck in bed.

The whole thing was a dream, but I had several false awakenings in it. I would "realize" I was still in bed, stuck in sleep paralysis in my dream and then crawl around again to check the locks. After a minute, I would realize I was still in bed, unable to to really move. The whole process started over several times. It gave me a very paranoid and fearful sense of my situation, like I was in danger and unable to do anything about it. I felt unsure what was real and if I was awake or not.
