    1. My Induction into the Religion of the Prophet

by , 03-03-2011 at 10:39 AM (Brainy Vapours)
I am in some sort of camp cabin type house, on some endowment kind of lands. I get the feeling it’s a college or university, and it’s definitely in Canada. There are a lot of trees. It’s night time, and with me are a gathering of about 4 other people. We’re discussing religion, a certain type of Wicca/Pagan belief that involves a deity that appears masked and shrouded in many layers of draped cloth. She is said to come to certain devotees late in the night. After discussing this for a little while, we move on to talking about prophets. As the others are talking about some random prophet, “THE Prophet” comes to me. The others don’t seem to notice, they kind of fade into the scene, still there, but not as noticeable. The Prophet is a man, dressed in draped cloth, smiling down at me in an absolutely radiant way. The feeling that he exudes is pure love and joy. He reaches out and takes my hands, holds them gently, Even though there is a sense that he has no hands. He tells me how happy he is to have me join them. This moment seems to stretch out for a time, then it fades and the scene with the others comes back into focus. I tell them about my experience and they are all in awe. The meeting ends and we all leave. I hope that someone will walk home with me, as it’s dark and I don’t feel safe, but they all scatter in different directions before I can ask anyone.

Flash forward a bit into the future to a completely different climate, one that is warm and somewhat tropical in feeling. There are huts scattered around the landscape. They look like a futuristic version of a teepee. Someone has left the daily food ration outside the hut in a special hammock kind of thing. I go to collect it. They are gourds, and I am familiar enough with them to know that they are spiced and very tasty. I notice a woman slips by the hammock and steals some of the gourds, then hurries away. This upsets me, but I know there is nothing I can do about it, so I take the rest into the hut.

There are seating places on the floor of the hut where the residents can sit around in a circle facing each other. In my place there is a gift box, very organic looking. I pick it up and unwrap it very carefully, taking my time and enjoying the process. I can’t remember all of the items that were in there, but there was a roll of cloth with detailed instructions on how and why to wear it. It said something like “Drape this cloth over your body to cover as much flesh as you can, as your body is precious, and should be protected”. There were also a few ornate ear rings and some semi precious stones.

We’re eating the spiced gourds now, and suddenly we’re interrupted by a visit from the prophet and his “Speaker”. The Speaker is draped in so many layers (including all around the face) that it’s very difficult to tell if it’s a male or a female. S/he begins to speak and I look at her/him as s/he does. I am scolded and told to look either at the Prophet, or at the ground. We are instructed in quite a few things which I don’t remember, but I do remember something to the effect of being told we should not eat meat for some critical reason. We are allowed to eat grains (such as rice) and vegetables like the gourds we are eating now.
I realize that all the others in the hut with me are also new to this way of life, and the dream ends.
    2. False Eyelashes and A Man Eating Chair??

by , 02-05-2011 at 03:35 PM (Brainy Vapours)
I tried some Choline last night to see if it would help with vividness and recall

I had a crazy night of dreams, but unfortunately I can't remember much. What I do remember are two incredibly vivid images/experiences; the first was
Nelsan Ellis as his character (Lafayette Reynolds) on Trueblood fitting me with some false eyelashes... ()

The second image was very real and very strange. I remember seeing a brown lounge chair to my right. It was covered in a kind of microfraser fabric and it had no arm rests. I notice that it's starting to move in a very unusual way, almost like it's alive. It quickly ramps up to very frightening movements similar to what an alligator would do with it's jaws. It's so real and violent, and I think I am on the edge of becoming lucid because I just know this can't be real, and then the emotion of all of it wakes me up.

      ... *sigh* ... So close

    3. The Blockbuster for Horses Restaurant

by , 02-01-2011 at 09:11 AM (Brainy Vapours)
We - the kids, me and my husband - are going out for dinner to a restaurant. The kids I have are the same as my kids in real life, but my husband looks like an old broken down version of The Architect from The Matrix. There is a general feeling of stress about our venture to the restaurant. I don't remember eating, I just remember me and the hubby having a big fight and being really bitchy with each other.

It's late and the kids are miserable, crying loudly. People in the restaurant are looking at us. I can't get one of my boys off the ride 'em toy car that they have in the restaurant to amuse children. The husband is getting more and more angry, more and more impatient. It doesn't help when I tell him I intend to get my horse. Part of the reason we came to this restaurant is that you can take a horse with you after you're done your meal. Kind of like a blockbuster but with horses and a meal involved. The husband is not impressed, and since he can't drive the car home (he has no license), he growls that he will take the kids and walk home, meeting me later. It's not too far from here, so I agree. He stomps off in a huff.

I rush over to the corral part of the restaurant and go about picking my horse. I grab the first one I can find, she's kind of a caramel colour with a long light coloured mane that she tosses around, whinnying loudly. I bring her up to the lady at the "check out", feeling stressed. I want to get out of here as soon as possible, so that grumpy husband doesn't beat me home.

The lady at the till has long tightly curled frizzy hair and she looks at me and the horse dubiously. She asks me why I took this horse. I say that I chose her because she's spirited and full of energy, like me (). The lady takes her from me, saying that this horse is a bit too young and wild, that she will bring me a more appropriate horse. I am guessing she means for my noobish level of horse riding. The horse bites her as she is lead away from me, and that pleases me a little, giving me a feeling that maybe the horse chose me, too.
They bring me a very calm horse who almost looks a bit like a donkey. He's dark brown and black mixed fluffy fur. She tells me he will suit me better. I'm stressed now, it feels like this is taking too long, so I agree and we head off to the car.

On the way to the car, I tell the lady about my relationship troubles, illustrating the problems I have had in the past. She doesn't seem to care. I try to impress upon her how dire the situation is with my hubby, but she just feigns interests, but not convincingly. We get to the car (which is a mini van kind of thing) and I see a load of garbage all along the floor of it. Embarrassed, I search through the garbage for my keys. I find them after some stressed minutes. As I look at the keys I notice that the car keys are missing, so hubby has taken them! This irritates me, for some reason to do with the fact that he has no license. In my dream he has taken the car to drive home, but that makes no sense because the car is in front of me.

Now that I am apparently ready to go, The horse lady showed me what to feed my horse. She pulls out this thing that looks like a sandwich. She asks if I have seen these before and I say I think I have but I couldn't ever afford to buy them before. She shows me that when you break the sandwich apart there are whole foods inside, like vegetables, fruits, and noodles. She says I must feed him only these. She begins showing me some long drawn out demonstration of another snack to feed him, and I try to pay attention, but I am so stressed now and really want to get going. I am sure that hubby is at home waiting to yell at me now.

The dream ends when my kids wake me up. How disappointing, I was so close to riding that horse!
