    1. In a city

      by , 01-25-2012 at 09:03 AM
Woke up during the night to memorize key point of the first dream. It helped but I don't remember much besides the key points. Apparently I forget the dreams I have in the morning, I tried going trough the dream but and memorize the key points, but I only remember one image. Also, it seems that my subconscious not only is a pacifist, but also has a very dark sense of humor.

      First dream

There are two women hanging like apes on the top of a skyscraper. They are talking about how great the price is that they are going to get for doing that. I contemplate climbing the skyscraper I'm on, although I don't know what the price is. I think I can't do it, because I'm a bit afraid of heights.

I'm downstairs and there is construction work going on. Two large building machines, one of them has roller chains. A worker gets caught in the chains and is pulled in. There is patriotic music playing in the background and the worker is torn to pieces, along with another one, who tries to help him. This is supposed to be a very patriotic scene where people give their lives for their country, even though it's completely meaningless. I feel ill.

A kind of a superhero is jumping between the roofs of the city, I'm looking from above. He is trying to loose some super-villain that is following him. I know parts of the city. The superhero stops to hide and the villain looses him. Now I'm the superhero and I disguise as a normal person and continue walking.

I walk trough the city towards home and pass trough a park.

      Second dream

      I'm in a large maze-like building.

    2. On the way home

      by , 01-24-2012 at 09:36 AM
Again, no memories in the morning or during the night. Once I got up I for some reason thought about a dog and that was the strand that pulled all these memories back to my consciousness. First I just remembered the dogs, but I was able to recount the dream backwards once I got it. It's kind of interesting, it was still all there. Not locked away or anything, just lost, nothing connected to the memories. I suspect this is what usually happens.

We are hiking or such in a forest with a few friends. At the end of the trail there is a place for changing clothes and even a temporary shower that pumps cold ground water. I don't want to take a shower there because it would be really cold. I go to our car, where most of the others are waiting.

We drive in the forest and there is a swamp. The road seems to just stop there, but when we try going forward, there is an invisible bridge over the swamp. This seems kind of weird to me and I can't really believe it, but then I just dismiss it. It's only built half way, there is a large yellow building machine blocking the way, so we turn around. We find ourselves next to a guest house type building.

The building is closed and we don't know any other way out. I go have a look. There is a building now, that we need to find a way through. It's on a hillside so there are two ground floors, and I realize that we need to go up a floor to get to the other side. I return to the others to share my findings.

The others are eating something, we still have enough food left to find our way out. I eat some meat and bread. The meat is pretty terrible, hard to chew. Someone doesn't want us to succeed, so he sends he's dogs to spy on us. The dogs run past us but don't look very scary. They do eat some of our food, however, and spoil the rest. I bit stupid of us to have left it on the ground.

    3. Bad recall

      by , 01-23-2012 at 07:47 AM
Another night with little or hazy memories. I had the feeling there was at least one dream with a consistent story buried there somewhere, but couldn't find a way to reach it.

There was something about dreams, trying to find a technique that works with four or five test subjects.

    4. Rating Knives and Barbarians Invade

      by , 01-22-2012 at 09:52 AM
I remember a lot this time. When I woke up most of it was gone but I had a few minutes to fish around and remembered a lot more. I had the alarm a bit later that usual and I remember waking up when the alarm should have rung and going to sleep again, continuing the same dream. Usually I wake up at the same time every morning. This might be useful later.

I also decided to wake up 15 minutes before the alarm and that also worked.

      Rating a Knife

I was on a trip to a forest somewhere far away. There were two cabins. In the other cabin someone had tried to light up a portable stove, but had left the kerosene bottle open and the gas had exploded, burning some hair. I had my own kerosene bottle and poured some to the stove. I didn't light it yet, though.

I returned to my own cabin. I was rating the knives I had used during the trip. The ratings would then go on the internet. There was one I hadn't used, it had been lost when I asked for it. The owner said that it was in a really bad shape. He gave the knife to me and it had no handle. I went outside and tried slicing wood with it by hitting it with a piece of wood. It worked really well and I though that it actually was a pretty good chisel. I remember that the slices look almost too perfect. The owner came out and I told him that it was a good chisel.

We were on a bus, leaving. I was standing near the front of the bus listening to someone give instructions. She told us that the weather was different than when we had left. It was raining.

I wen't home and was alone there. I thought about going to get some candy but it was too late, it was dark outside.

      The Barbarian Invasion

I was still at home but I was thinking about some game where I attacked a walled city with bats. I couldn't get in the city but the walls were breaking. I was commanding the troops attacking the city from a third person point of view, but aware that I was in my home at the same time (in the dream home).

There was a news report about the city. A clan of barbarians had attacked and destroyed the walls. This was a normal dynamic, the people in the city build walls and the barbarians destroyed them. They didn't wand to go inside because that would risk war, but they would ride around the boundary and yell nasty things. There was some ethnic minority in the city that the barbarians wanted dead and if they saw one of those people they would throw spears and such.

I was now in the city, in first person, and was yelling back at the barbarians. I took a rock and threw it at one of them. It turned out to be their leader, and I hit him in the head. He crossed the border to come look at me. I tried not to look scared, but he was on horseback and looked huge.

    5. Leaving Sweden

      by , 01-21-2012 at 02:37 PM
I had been on a trip to Sweden with a couple of friends and was leaving. We were at the harbor, going to take a ferry. We had to go trough the toll separately, there were these small closed glass rooms where the officer went trough my luggage, just one bag. He spoke Swedish so I didn't understand exactly what he said, but I had a pretty good Idea. He tore a carton of milk in half and then handed me the lower half, with half of the milk still there.

I got out but both of my friends were held for a bit because they had dyed their hair, which was not okay. They were allowed to leave though. Then we were standing at the harbor waiting for the boat.

    6. No dreams

      by , 01-20-2012 at 06:49 PM
I didn't remember any of my dreams in the morning. During the night I remember waking up and recalling something like a dream state but no story, just thoughts and assosiated images. No dreams

After my meditation I did a short lying meditation and had some floating and flowing sensations.

    7. Driving

      by , 01-19-2012 at 10:58 AM
Had a very good nights sleep but with very little memories. Woke before the alarm, not in the middle of a dream. When thinking about it before getting up, a couple of things did return to me.

      Scene 1

I'm in a car and my brother is driving. I have the fealing I've done this route a few times lately, and remember how it goes. My brother doesn't know the way and I start giving him directions. I don't drive so even though I know the direction to go, we end up almost going the wrong way on a one way street. At some point I think there should be a road but don't see one, and it appears.

      Scene 2

I'm piloting an airship along a road in a city, there are buildings on both sides. The steering is pretty simple, but it responds more strongly than I would expect. At some point I try to gain a bit more altitude, not to hit traffic lights, but the airship rises a bit above the rooftops.

    8. The Wise Man

      by , 01-18-2012 at 09:43 AM
I was tired and overslept, the memories of early morning are mostly gone. I woke up a couple of times during the night to go trough the dreams I'd had, and those I remember a bit better.

      First.

I was in a garage hall, a large one, there was at least one bus there. The place was closing but I didn't leave, I went to another room, maybe downstairs. There was an enlightened master, kind of a Yoda type character, fairly short. He tried to teach me some tricks, controlling what seemed reality with my mind. I don't remember the conversation but there was a Star Wars reference, apparently I'm not the only one, there is another one.

The master then had a large bowl and a weaved basket. "An empty bowl, an empty basket," he said, took water into the bowl and poured it into the basket, the water of course went trough. "What are you trying to catch?" "Fish," I said. "Fish!" the master exclaimed and started laughing.

I guess it wasn't apparent to me but this clearly seems to be a reference to Dao De Jing. There is also something very Zen-like in how it was represented.

I left the room, went trough the garage hall that was still closing. I was running on a road and noticed a woman running behind me. I tried to run faster, and she kept pace. I started really running and then jumped and started flying. She said something about me being able to fly and followed, also flying.

      Second.

There was a flat, some of my old family was there, probably one of them owned the place. My brother was making food. There was a balcony that had been folded away for the winter, kind of like a folded bed, but the support structures were still there. I balanced on the supports and got a bit scared when I noticed it was the top floor. I climbed the supports down to the ground. It was not frozen yet. I climbed back up and helped with the food.

      Third.

There was a party. Something happened before I arrived, but I don't remember. Someone complained about the restaurant opening so late on, it was a midday on a Sunday and other restaurant were already closing. I went to a hall with food on a table. I took a drink and saw a woman put sugar in hers with chopsticks. I took two spoon to use as chopsticks but couldn't find the sugar, maybe the woman had brought her own. I took some rice and there were some sauces. It didn't look especially good or filling, so I took some more rice.

    9. The dragon in the temple

      by , 01-17-2012 at 02:55 PM
I remember this dream better that usual, probably because I woke up right after it and remembered to take the time and go trough it. Other things happened before this, but they are too hazy to gather in a text. I didn't notice it was a dream at any point, but I didn't think it was real either. A movie perhaps, that I was immersed in.

I was walking on a curved ridge with water on both sides, an ocean on the right, I believe, and a lake on the left. There was a temple, or a shrine but a large one, on the left side of the ridge, halfway in water.

It was a rather beautiful old building with white marble pillars and I stopped to have a look. It was dark and I didn't see far towards the lake, the water was still. After looking around I heard a voice proclaim that the temple was devoted to an ancient, powerful creature, and on the table in the middle of the temple, large scratch marks appeared.

Behind me, there was a large dragon-like creature, a large lizard with wings and bone spikes in it's tale. (These kinds of things happen in movies, no reason to be afraid.) I had a sword, or maybe a dagger is more like it, and I faced the creature, standing on the ridge a bit farther from the temple.

It approached and tried to swing its tail at me. I tried to cut it while backing away, teleporting a bit further on the ridge. I didn't even touch it, and it came flying over the water. It came toward me and for some reason, crashed to the ground, causing me to fall next to it.

I was a bit disappointed I couldn't beat the lizard. A swarm of daggers appeared flying, sent by my friends and protectors, leaving behind a golden glow in the air, took a dive into the sea and finally hit the lizard trough its back.

The lizard complained that they shredded some organ. I felt a bit sorry and woke up, the alarm was ringing.
