Date: December 28 ||| Time Block: 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM ||| Length: 5 minutes. ||| Lucidity: level 3/2. ||| Entry Type: DILD ||| Major Methods: DEILD, MILD

Methods: woke up *before* my alarm at 7, mentally prepared and then let myself fall back asleep.

    Account:
Progress! This is the first time I've been able to have a lucid dream without waking up first and then going back to bed. This is good, because so far every lucid dream has made me spend on average about an hour falling asleep, and I've wanted to gain the ability to lucid dream during the night, or at least without all the time waiting in bed.

The first thing I remember from my dream is walking up a path with my sister, in some kind of zoo or park, and then looking over the cliff towards the right, down at a beautiful snowy field. It was so crystal clear and beautiful, that even in my dream I was commenting on its beauty. Monica asked me if I would really just sit there looking at it, and I replied, "something, something, I would literally keep viewing this scene for hours". I'm not sure if I knew I was dreaming at this point, I remember I went in and out so it's hard to tell. I think I was because of how clear it was, and because I was commenting on the "scene" as if I knew it was part of a dream.

Anyway, we continued our walk up the path, and we came to a place between the cliff, a river, and a zoo/park enclosure. Knowing our family to be towards the left, we passed through the river, and walked over through a wading pool area over to under an oak tree, where the rest of our family was. Monica and I wanted to go back to the main river, to go in it or something, so we asked Mom and we started back over to where we were before. Once we got there, I remember looking up river, and seeing a large influx of water, and with it an increased danger. Knowing it would be to unsafe to go down the river at this point, I went back into the branched off area, where my family was, and started walking towards them in the shallows. As I was doing so, Mom was warning me about the flooding, but I replied with something about how the water here was safe. A moment or so after saying this, a surge of water came up behind me, and turned me over on my back, and I started drifting towards the (precariously placed) waterfall a few yards down.

Mom began yelling in fear, something like, "I told you not to let yourself fall". Seeing that there had been placed a metal guard rail around the drop off, I desperately tried to grab onto it as I fell. I managed to grab onto a horizontal portion of it, and I thought I was doing well. The water was spraying very hard in my face, but I was able to breath anyway. But then it suddenly broke, and I was left hanging onto the vertical bar, which I began to slip down on due to the pouring water. As I went down, I heard the voice of a narrator, turning my fall into the end of some kind of movie. On reaching the bottom, I am not too certain what went on (I think I lost lucidity).

The next thing I remember, I think a few seconds later actually, I went back up the waterfall to the right, (the one from the main river), and starting walking up through it to the wading pool area. On reaching the area I was before, I sort of became third person, with a different body, and began watching myself. The person who was now in the river was a statue-like Greek figure, as if from one of the Greek myths. He was making grunting sounds, and seemed to be struggling, like moving his arm forward, but then back again. I wondered what was wrong and knew somehow/intuitively that he was having a decision struggle, or duality, where he couldn't decide to move either way.

Looking up further on, I remember seeing a more darkly colored statue, Greek styled, with a spear of some sort that was moving. And on from there, two marble heads on either side of the waterfall area, which were also alive. There was something I wanted to do or get or see. I went over to the right, towards where I knew there was someone who might be able to help. Coming up to his enclosed research center, I looked in the circular, thick glass windows on the air-tight entry and saw him working away at his projects. I could also tell that he was somewhat malevolent. He apparently knew that I was watching him, because he came outside and asked what I wanted. I responded, but he quickly went back inside and left me. Looking for help elsewhere, I wandered over to the right where I met with a much kinder man, around the age of 20 or so. He agreed to help me with whatever I was doing, so I led him inside the large complex. Passing through the doors of one store into another, we entered a gaming arcade area. Looking behind me for the man, I saw that he'd preoccupied himself with a game, and I sighed as I saw him grab the game's gun and start playing.

Looking over to the left a bit, near the doorway, I saw Arthur, who was talking to his Mom about something. I was again inspired and amazed by how realistic people in lucid dreams both appear and behave. He was as living as he is in real life. Walking up, I was about to start talking to him, when I realized I should probably stabilize first. Staring at my hand intently, I noticed the scene become more bright and clear. Starting to speak, I suddenly realized that I'd missed an important point, of not only stabilizing my vision but also my place in the world, by touching things in the dream and keeping my body from feeling the bed. Kicking myself, (not literally), my vision began to fade, and I began to feel my in-bed body. I then woke up entirely. I did a reality check just to make sure that it was not a false awakening, and then attempted to fall back asleep.

I actually succeeded, and woke about a half hour later, with further dreams. Unfortunately, in the time it took for me to get out of bed and write up to this point, I've forgotten everything that went on in it. But at least I remembered this first part, and was able to lucid dream without the need of WBTB/wake-back-to-bed/getting up for a while and then waiting in bed to fall back asleep.
