Date: January 14, 2013 ||| Time Block: 11:30 PM to 1:30 PM ||| Length: 15 minutes. ||| Lucidity: level 3/2. ||| Entry Type: DILD ||| Major Methods: WBTB, SSILD

Methods: woke up and helped Davey get ready for school; went back to bed; performed 5 or 6 SSILD repetitions; was resting in bed repeating the alphabet mentally.

    Account:
I was standing in the hallway of the van Doorn's house. Chrissy and I had just come in. I remembered some thought about lucid dreaming, and I walked back to Chrissy to tell her about it. We had just come from some kind of concert, and I think it had some connection. On walking up, the thought struck me, "Wait, why am I here?" And then I remembered I had been falling asleep in bed, just a few minutes earlier. "Oh my goodness, this is a lucid dream!" Excited, I looked all around me, and started walking around also, just taking in everything that was going on. First, the rooms were different. The doorway was "behind me", the entry was where I was standing, and to the right just a bit was a stove, which had meat of some sort cooking on it. I watched as Mr. van Doorn walked up to it, picked up the pan, and then dumped it out, saying something about how it wasn't cooked right. I then walked ahead into the kitchen/dining, and Kristy and her Mom were cooking something different there, dough of some sort in pieces that were shaped and lying on the counter, about to be fried or something. Mrs. van Doorn said something in response to Mr. van Doorn, something like "If you always throw the food out, then it's not truly trial and error". I'm not entirely sure how true that is, but hey, it wasn't me who said it. Anyway, quite a bit more happened, but I forget most of it, because this is from the first half of dreams, which I woke up from and didn't record until after the second half.

I woke up in bed. I did my reality check, and discovered I was still dreaming. But again I could not move. So I tried, again, the method of rolling out of bed. But instead of beginning to float, I just had a very odd orientation as I went over the edge and was then stuck in place looking down at the floor. Not that interesting, and anyway I woke up.

I woke up, did my check, and was again still dreaming. I remember I was struggling with my blankets. I could move, but everything was heavy, and my arms were very weak for some reason, like when you're dead tired. It was kind of annoying, and I woke up.

Back in bed, I again discovered I was still asleep. This time I could actually get up, though. Now standing up out of bed, I noticed my younger brother Davey over in the corner. I went over to him and lay next to him, and was talking with him for some time, about lucid dreaming, and how even if it's all an illusion, "I'll act as if you're real, since you all feel so real". And then I remember him talking with me about this, more clearly and with more understanding than usual. With that said, I then decided I should take him outside flying with me. I picked him up, and headed over to the window. My vision was a bit hazy, so I stared for a while at the window, and it became much more vivid and sharp. (on par with real life, for instance clearer than my vision at that distance without contacts) I opened up the two locks, pushed the window to the side, and forced my way through the screen. Pushing myself off the window ledge, I had five or so seconds of flying before my vision deteriorated so badly that I genuinely woke up. It felt really cool, as usual, although it wasn't as clear, I basically just had the feeling of flying.

Now having woken up for real, (and seeing it was only twelve something), I decided to try it once more. I turned onto my right side. The next thing I remember, I had woken up in my bedroom. I knew that I was probably dreaming, (I'm beginning to get quite used to this), so I did my reality check, by plugging my nose, and confirmed it. I now got out of bed, noticed that my vision was clearer than normal, and walked over to the door and opened it up. For a split second I saw our hallway, just as the door was opening, but it soon stabilized itself into a long wooden hallway, that from what I saw at the bottom, apparently connected to the van Doorn's kitchen. And then I heard Kristy to the left of me, say something about coming down and playing a game. So I started going down with her, and as I did I thought of an interesting test to do. Mr. van Doorn was standing in the unreal entrance between their kitchen and their unreal other dining room. I decided I would start with him. He smiled as I walked up to him, and I asked, “Mr. van Doorn, did you know that we’re lucid dreaming?”. Very interested in how he would respond, I watched him think this question over for a good four seconds. And then, turning his concentration back to me, he responded very simply, “Uh, no.” He answered pleasantly, as usual, but there didn’t seem to be that much interest. As if it were just an interesting realization or something, rather than the reason that he even exists! Anyway, I decided to go into the wrongly positioned living room, by going forward into the dining room, and then to the right, passing Steven at a second table. Dennis was stretched out on a recliner chair, and his sister and I think one of his friends were there. I came up asked him, “Dennis, do you know that we’re in a lucid dream?” Watching and listening intently, he pondered the question for at least five seconds, and then turned back and asked, “Why?” “Oh, come on! Just tell me!” And then he said something like, “No, I don’t want to.”, with a hint of smugness. “Okay, this is kind of ridiculous.”, I thought. I tried poking him in the stomach a few times, but then he got up and started doing the same to me, and he woke me up! I thought, “No!!! I knew I should have asked Steven first!”. Well anyway, that’s what happened.

I woke up in bed, and thinking myself to be awake finally, I just laid there processes the events for a few seconds. But then I noticed something very odd. Pastor Mike was downstairs telling a story! To his wife, I think, or maybe a kid, about a penguin or something, “as he walked across the glacier”. I knew I was dreaming, of course, and as I tried to get up, *with my eyes still open*, I felt as the scenery around me transformed into a misty black, and then I opened my eyes to see myself trying to get up, in my actual bed. Oh man!
