Lucid Dreams
I "wake up" in my mom's house. Immediately I know I am dreaming but I am not completely lucid because I feel like I still live there and fell asleep in my room there (even though I have already moved out). Everything is so realistic that I think I am actually there. I walk to my bedroom and can see the shape of my body beneath the sheets of the bed. I consider the possibility that I might actually be in my "spirit body" looking at my physical self. (After waking up I now know that wasn't the case.) So..Just in case I actually am, I protect my body by casting a white light to surround it. I feel like I did a good job so I walk downstairs into the kitchen. I think about this being a good opportunity to make an experiment. I grab some red oven mittens out of a drawer and put them in the oven. I take a dish towel laying on the counter, and put it on the exercise bike in the living room. I wonder if I am actually doing this and tell myself that when I actually wake up I am going to see if the items really were moved to these locations. Suddenly I hear someone walk into the kitchen behind me. I turn around and see it's my mother. She looks a little scared. "I've been seeing you do this kind of stuff a lot at night lately Nick," she starts crying, "You never remember it. I feel like it's dangerous and I'm afraid of what might be happening to you. What if you have a mental disorder? I think we need to take you to therapy." She hugs me for a moment. I feel shocked. What if she's right? I don't know what's going on. I am an inch away from completely believing her - because the dream felt so life-like. But I look at her closely. Her hair and makeup are completely unusual compared to how she normally does it. Then I look back at the exercise bike I had placed the towel on. It completely disappeared. "Ha! This IS a dream!" I say. My mom looks infuriated. I couldn't believe my brain almost succeeded in tricking me. "Leave me alone," I tell my mom," or I'll..." "Or you'll what?" She snaps back. "Or I'll summon a fiery demon to come after you!" I couldn't think of anything better to say. I put my hands out like I am casting a spell, and think about summoning one. Nothing happens. (-.-)' My mom laughs hysterically. "You want to see a fiery demon?" she says as her eyes begin to glow red. She starts casting fire all around her. I don't want to feel the pain of being burned in my dream so I leave and try to focus my mind on something else. Somehow that works to get rid of her. I am back in the kitchen. A decorative tree on the counter starts shedding it's leaves. A bright white light - similar to a search light - shines on the house. Then everything turns black and I wake up.

Sometimes I hate living with 2 people. They always get up early. My partner either moves or shifts position or an alarm goes off. It's really disruptive to my dreaming. Thankfully both of them had to leave early today and I was by myself for most of the morning and I was still tired enough to go back to sleep. I am with Ashley and a group of random friends I don't know. We are going out to a club. When we get there it reminds me of one of the "open-minded" clubs that I go to where I live, where all sexual orientations and a wide range of flavors of people go - Everyone from goths to punk-kids. We go to the second floor. My sister hands me a beer. I down it pretty quickly, and then someone else gives me a cocktail (rum and coke) that I also suck down.Surprisingly I actually feel quite drunk in the dream after that - so much so that I feel like I need to sit down. I stupidly end up sitting at the edge of the stairs with my legs sticking out. A girl comes around the corner and then trips over my feet. She lands on a group of people who are also heading downstairs and they all tumble over. The girl I tripped gets up and comes over to me quickly. "Don't worry it's not your fault. It's really theirs for not knowing how to prevent themselves from falling," she says. (Wow, my subconscious really does try to shift the blame!) Another girl who fell that was with the group of people also walks up to me. "Nice job," she looks angry, "Idiot!" I don't say anything to her, I just walk over to a fire-pole, and slide down to the first floor. I hear her call my name as she throws something down at me. It hits me in the head. Before I can look to see what it is the dream ends and I am awake. I turn over....annoyed that I didn't become lucid. I figure this is a good time to try WBTB. I close my eyes and concentrate. Suddenly I am back in the club. I hear this really cool music. It sounds like a punk girl band. I am pretty impressed that my mind can make this stuff up. Then the dream fades again. I am back in my bed and I decide I have to do it again. This time it's harder though. I close my eyes and I can feel my head coming out of my body. Everything is black but I can feel the process. First my head, then my arms. I basically feel like I climb out of my real body. I try to concentrate on going back to the cave where I met that mysterious DC who knew about lucid dreaming. It doesn't quite work. The dream scene appears and I am in a nice village with lots of small streams and ponds. I start flying. For some reason I feel like the cave would be located next to the ocean. But there is no ocean around..and I wake up again. Even though the dream was kind of boring. It was my first WBTB so I note it as a big achievement and had to post it on here.

A couple of friends and I are in a haunted house. We are on a balcony area when one of my friends is grabbed by something invisible, and thrown into a small closet that's up there. I open the closet and she is bound by shackles and chains. We are told that the only way we can free her is if we go into the house, find a chainsaw, and saw her feet off. I look closely at what are supposed to be her feet and realize they are made of plastic. So I feel better knowing they are "fake" feet. The other girl and I enter the house. Immediately we are terrorized by spirits. I am dragged down a hallway by a woman who has sharp pointed teeth, and my friend is dragged another direction. I am able to break free and I run into a room and find my friend there as well. Apparently she escaped too. The room resembles the master bedroom at my parents' house. That's when we hear this terrible growling screaming noise that consumes the entire room. A window is open and wind blows into the room tossing papers and anything light up into the air. I grab a small rock I find on the ground and throw it at the window. "Leave us the f**** alone!" I yell. Nothing happens. In fact that only angers it even more. Now I am being shoved and tossed around like a rag doll by this invisible entity. I start screaming. It was actually very frightening. At this point I realize I am dreaming. I call out to anything to help me get rid of this thing. I attempt to summon an angel to combat the evil ghost in my dream, but my attempt fails. Strangely enough though, everything stops for a moment and is calm. This is my chance. I run into the bathroom connected with the bedroom. There is an attic hatch on the ceiling. I try to envision it being a portal to another more friendly realm. I open it, and all I can see is water, hovering in place. I jump up inside and start swimming. Everything is dark and murky at first but gets lighter toward the top. When I surface, I am relieved to find I am in a much more welcoming dream. The landscape looks like a tropical fantasy island. Lots of green, with pieces of pink and purple foliage and plant life. Some areas are a bit pixelated like a video game would be. I try to stabilize it to make them more clear but that doesn't remove the pixelation. I decide to let that slide for now. I see a couple of tiny people swimming in the water near the shoreline. They remind me of realistic versions of anime chibi people - kind of like Kingdom Hearts. Kind of like this except with bathing suits. I swim to the shore and when i stand up I see a little black chibi boy with a small sun tattoo in the shape of a heart on his left cheek. Right before I start to introduce myself to him my roommate wakes me up from the hallway with a huge belch. I am thoroughly pissed. I had a dream similar to this with the same creepy invisible ghost who bellows that god-awful unearthly scream in my room at night - a couple nights ago. It was short so I never actually bothered to record it on here. In that dream I could not escape, even though I had become lucid. I was paralyzed and physically incapable of moving out of my bed (or waking up for that matter). Eventually I did...but I have to wonder where this ghost is coming from in my subconscious. The next time it happens I think it would be interesting to confront it to ask what it represents.

I am with two people in a movie production. We are the actors. I don't know what the plot is but I know it has something to do with video games (I think I was supposed to be Donkey Kong). We're in an abandoned place that looks a lot like a hospital. I open the door to a hallway and there is what looks like a Silent Hill mannequin nurse at the end. "Silent Hill!" The actor next to me yells, "That's not original at all!" We run away from it pretending to be scared for the cameras. Out of the corner of my eye I spot the beautiful Mena Suvari working behind the scenes. We head down some steps towards what appears to be a cave. At this point I realize I am in a dream. This guy comes out of nowhere and introduces himself and tells us that this cave is his place. He is taller than I am, and has medium length black hair. He seems really nice, and I feel like I know who he is, and that he is another dreamer. "I want to show you something," he tells me, leading me further inside. We come to a piece of art painted on the cave floor. It's an animal, comprised of different animal parts. Mostly bird but part lion, similar to a griffin except not quite the same. "Do you change into this form in your lucid dreams?" I ask him He nods yes, "Look at this other one I've been working on. I'm trying to perfect it's abilities." We walk to the right and look at a second painting on the ground. This one is of a raven with huge outstretched wings and flowing feathers. In the image the bird is actually breathing frost like an ice dragon. It looks awesome. He walks away for a moment and one of the other DCs I was with earlier comes up to me. "Your friend has a present for you." He hands me what looks like a candy bar. I pull open the wrapper and see that it's actually some kind of jerky meat. I start chewing on it. It tastes funny, I don't think my mind was quite settled on what it wanted it to be like. But it does the job. It helps me to stay grounded in the dream. I realize he gave me the present to do just that - keep me in the lucid dream. It makes me smile. I run up to him and give him a big hug. "Thank you," I say. He grins, "No problem." At that moment I think about my body lying asleep in bed. Everything starts fading out. Crap! I'm not supposed to think about that! But it's too late. The dream dissipates and I wake up. During this dream I was told the name of the guy who was helping me a few times. I can't for the life of me remember what it was. All I remember was that it sounded like a screen name. Like he came from the forums. And I felt like I knew him well. When I woke up however, I realized that I in fact have never met him before in waking life. I do not know who that was. It's a weird deja vu kind of feeling.

I don't remember how this dream started. I had an entire dream segment before I became lucid that I have no recollection of whatsoever. All I can remember is everything turning black and me fighting to save the dream like I always do. I need to work on recognizing I am in a dream BEFORE it ends. It seems like lately I've just been becoming lucid the moment everything fades away. The dream reappears. I am standing in an apartment. I can tell we are several stories up. From the light coming in the windows I can tell that it's in the morning. There is an Asian woman folding clothes in the room and doing other chores. Her hair is tied back and she is wearing a white tank with black pants. She's humming a song I don't recognize. She comes up to me and spins me around trying to get me to dance with her. There's also a little girl in the room i assume is her daughter. She looks about 3 or 4 and is wearing a red dress and has her hair made into pigtails. "What is your name?" I ask her. "A," she responds Wow, that was really unimaginative. It was kind of hoping I could interact with a more intriguing DC, or maybe find my DG. I ask her again what her name really is. This time she tells me it's "Tequila," which I find even weirder. "You know that's a Mexican liquor right?" I say. I bump into her daughter on accident and she whines to her mom that I was hurting her. Then the dream ends.

I have a sit down with my old general manager of Red Lobster to try to get back working there again. She hires me. When I show up to work for my first day I ask one of the servers if the menu is still the same from when I worked there. They tell me it pretty much is and hand me a menu. I look it over and find that not much has changed at all. I go through the selection of sides in my head. Baked Potato, Mashed Potato, French Fries, Broccoli, or Rice...still got it! I look at what starting section they put me in, and it's a really shitty one... not near the windows at all - where most of the customers like to be to see the water. That's expected though, they needed to start me out easy. I also notice next to my name on the seating chart the written words "Only 1%". I assumed that that meant I only get 1% of my pay or tips which is extremely disappointing but I am sure it was only for that day because of starting. Suddenly I have to use the restroom so I enter the bathroom. The stalls had no walls and after I was done I was thinking about what an invasion of privacy that was. I look down at my hand and realize I have a dark grey smudge on it. I go up to the bathroom sink and see that the dark smudging is also all over my face. I try to wash it off but somehow it gets all over my clothes. Shit! I pump some soap hoping that it might help me get rid of it all faster. My clothes get all wet, but after a few minutes of washing, I end up looking somewhat okay. I walk outside and the speak with the hostess - a thin girl with blonde, chin length hair. "Hey Nick, I sat you but no one knew where you were and we couldn't find you. So I had to move them to someone else's section. Also, some of the servers say you need to give them some tables anyway so they can make money." I look at her. "I don't care what the other servers say, sit me anyway. And let me know when you do. I'm not going anywhere." I walk around and notice there are some stairs that are leading to a basement with dancing music blasting inside. Since when did Red Lobster get a night-club? I walk down there and bump into my old roommate Amaliah on the way. "Hey! I didn't know you were here." "Oh I come here all the time! I love this place! Let's go in!" I follow her inside but it's very dark and hard to see. An Asian guy walks up to me that I recognize as one of my coworkers. "Follow me Nick." he said. He leads me to another room of the nightclub and then the dream fades. The moment everything turns black I realize I am dreaming I start spinning and fighting to save the dream now that I was lucid. I keep thinking that I want the dream scene to change into something beautiful. When the dream finally does re-appear I am in a hilly countryside next to a flowing creek. There are miniature horses grazing among yellow flowers. They are about the size of toy dogs. Very cute. I stabilize the dream a bit and admire the clarity. Everything looks and feels so real. Even the water from the creek which I put my legs in feels nice. I see a few baby ducks waddling through the grass. It's very relaxing. I try to pet some of the little horses but they are skittish and run away from me. A few of them jump into the creek and swim to the other side. Then everything disappears and I am back awake in my bed :/

Two poachers had killed a massive lion and it was lying dead and floating in water in a large swamp. They were upset at each other because they didn't know how they were going to carry it out of the place. Not only was the body heavy, it was submerged in water so it felt like a nearly impossible task. At some point I became lucid. I walked into a large building next to the swamp. It ended up being a 1920's train station. It was decorated nicely. For some reason there were bookcases with large books and odd assortments of things you would picture in a study room - such as telescopes and globes etc. Everything was perfectly new and well kept even though it had a definite 20's feel. Swing music started playing in the background and I started dancing to it counting the correct steps we used in swing dance in high school. Shortly after that an older lady DC walked into the hallway from a seperate room. She was probably in her 50s or 60s but still looked very pretty, like Jessica Lang, and was also dressed to fit the vintage look of the place. I walked over toward her. "Do you know who I am?" I asked her She cupped my face in her hands and I could see tears forming in her eyes. "You don't remember, do you?" she said. She fell to her knees and just started sobbing. I felt so much sadness and sorrow emanating from her. I didn't know what to do - I really did not know who she was or where I had seen her before. I knelt down and kissed her lips. I don't know why. It just felt appropriate at the time - as if it were to say I was sorry. As i did that, everything faded to darkness and I woke up.

Ok, tonight I had the first lucid dream in months because I've actually had time to focus on getting back into it. It wasn't a very long experience but I am happy I have started the process. Each dream gets longer and more detailed and then boom I get a short lucid experience. Hopefully this follows with longer and longer lucid ones as well. Here is my color code for all further dream entries.' Red is for when I am not lucid. Blue is for when I am lucid. I was in an apartment, in what was supposed to be my bedroom. The TV was on the dresser and a Lady Gaga concert was playing on the screen. It was a new single from her that I did not recognize, but it sounded pretty catchy. She had her hair in a short ponytail and was wearing a purple rock-star dress that reminded me of the 80s. I walked out of the back of my room onto the balcony. I tripped and fell off onto the ground below because the railing was missing from the sides. I started walking through the grass when it struck me as odd that there would be no railing on the balcony. Wait a minute! I'm dreaming! I immediately became excited. I started walking fast. There was a white sign up ahead. Just to make sure, I did a RC. I looked at the lettering (I couldn't understand what was written there) looked away, and then looked back again. The sign had disappeared altogether the second time. Now I knew for sure. The dream started fading so I started spinning and rubbing my hands together. It took a good minute or two of this before the dream re-appeared. I was laying in bed. I sat up and rubbed my hands again for good measure. The dream stabilized a little bit and I could see more clearly. The floor was concrete and there was an orange plastic chair with metal legs next to a cheap, dusty looking table. There was a small TV stand at the foot of the bed, with one of those old tiny analogue televisions. I stood up and walked over to the table. I picked up a small clipboard that was laying on it, and felt how realistic it was before I set it back down. Everything felt stable enough to proceed. I wanted to find a DC to interact with. I walked out of the bedroom and across a short hallway into another bedroom whose door was left open. There was a man sitting down on the opposite side of a bed who quickly stood up as I entered the room. As soon as I saw him everything immediately went black and I woke up.

I was in a police station/jail. I remember there was a black guy that had blonde dreads who kept staring at me and I thought it was odd. I was with a black family who had a little girl who was probably 2. One of the police officers was talking about some of the inmates that were pulling up. As they were walking into the building the little girl (I think her name was Ruby, it was something similar to that) She ran away and out into the main part of the prison. She saw something she wanted or someone she wanted to play with, I forgot what it was. Her parents and everyone started chasing after her. The prison kind of transformed into something else. Like a mall or something. There was chaos everywhere, people running and screaming like something bad was happening (although I don't really remember what that was). I felt connected to that little girl for some reason, as if she were my sister. So I was running everywhere screaming her name. Some kid came up next to me and asked who I was looking for. I told him and he said he saw her and pointed me in the right direction. I ended up coming out of the building into a wide expansive hilly field. There were still people running around crazily. Then I noticed some weird doglike creatures walking around in the distance. They were about the size of cows and had elongated necks and bodies. That was my trigger to become lucid. That was too strange for me. Although I knew I was dreaming, I decided to keep going with the plot of the dream because I wasn't really prepared to do anything else. I saw a girl on a horse riding toward me. I jumped on and said, “Alright, lets go find this girl.”As soon as I did the dream faded away. I kept rubbing my hands and chest and body, trying to hold onto any tactile stimulation from the dream. Then a new dream scene appeared. I was in a driveway of a home. I walked through a small corrider (between the garage and the house) and came to a large lake in the backyard with a dock. It was in the evening and the sun was setting. Very picture perfect of the kind of place I would love to live. I leaned against the wall just looking out at the water. I could see a small boat way out in the distance. I felt very relaxed and content. I marveled a little at the clarity of the dream. Then it faded and I woke up.
Since this is my first entry, I will start with the last dream I wrote down in my physical dream journal. Ray and I were canoing down a river in the middle of the afternoon. I jumped out of the canoe and swam to shore. In the distance I saw an island (called "Monkey Island" in the dream). I wanted us to go there. It was huge with large mangrove roots sprawling all around and a large central tree bursting from the center. As I reached shore I noticed the water began rising. I was losing places I could hold onto or stand on, and remember being afraid of alligators in the water. That was when I saw my dad on his sailboat and my brother on the shoreline opposite of me. I swam over to them and that is when lucidity hit me. I decided to do a little exploring so I dove beneath the surface of the river and saw the one of the most beautiful landscapes my mind has ever come up with. I was underwater, yes, but everything was crystal clear as if it were air and it wasn't exactly underwater because I saw birds flying down there as well. To be more accurate there were dolphins, stingrays and other water-life swimming/flying through the area, along with those birds. The land below all of it looked extremely similar to the grand canyon. It was absolutely stunning. I resurfaced and grabbed my sister Ashley. I told her to come down underwater with me and we both went together. We were having a great time. A large group of stingrays headed straight for my sister and I remember she was hurrying to get out of their way - afraid of being stung. But they just brushed by her gently. Several platypi did circles around me and swam away. I can't explain the feeling of it all, just that it was wonderful and innocent, like the feeling a child would get about going to the beach for the first time. After spending some time down there, Ashley and I got out and discovered a nice house built into the cliffside next to the river. We entered it and as we did the house broke itself off and began slowly drifting away, as if it were being held up by balloons. I looked at her and said "Isn't this exciting. Our journey is about to begin.". By this time it was already evening and we were passing over many houses with their lamp-posts on. I looked around the house and made the dream become more clear. I told my sister that I loved her. She replied "Aw, I love you too." I then said "You know we are dreaming right?" She gazed out the window and said "I know." I looked at her and asked "Well...Will you remember all of this when we wake up?" She just grinned at me and gave me a face that said I already knew. This wasn't the real her. She couldn't remember something she wasn't actually doing. SO that's that. I woke up shortly after. I didn't manipulate any of this... I just lucidly went with the flow of the dream.
