The Flood

I am at work in the cubicles. For some reason I can't clock in and my badge is inactive. I ask my boss what’s going on but she doesn’t seem to know. I wonder if I am fired and refuse to do any work until this is sorted out. I feel somewhat happy to be free from work but I also wonder where my money will come from. I think I should go to the union and talk to them about all of this; There's no reason I should be fired.
I picture myself outside the Area Managers office protesting. Suddenly I am out in the parking lot looking at the windows of the front offices. I realize I am in the back seat of a car with some unknown people. It begins to rain heavily outside. I look around and see a telephone pole still upright in the ground, but moving along the pavement though the wires are still attached.
This is so bizarre that I become lucid. I say to the people in the car, "What the heck? Is that really happening?"
Some guy in the car says, "It's just... [something]"
I do a nose plug and blow through but it seems weak. I try several times until I am convinced enough. I jump out of the car running around yelling, "I AM DREAMING!" However, I still have my doubts so I do another nose plug, this time, with both thumbs in my nostrils. I am shocked when my breath is blocked. Felling embarrassed, I jump back in the car. I say to the people, "May be not."
Now it starts to flood but only in the parking lot. The car floats like a boat but I don't expect it last long. After a moment I realize this is impossible and become lucid again. I don't get out this time and just go with the ride. The water is now so deep that there are waves like I am out in the middle of the ocean but the flood waters are still contained with in the parking lot. The driver takes us around in the boat/car. I think the whole think is just silly and I begin to make fun of the car. I say sarcastic stuff like, "Oh look. It's a car that floats" and
"I really like the propulsion system in this" and "This is real nice, Clark." I suddenly feel hot and and enclosed and wish we could roll down the windows. The guy in the front passenger seat says something about rolling a window down, but I tell him I am afraid the car will sink if we do. We putt around to our starting point then, down the edge of the water in a steep slope, and back on the pavement. I wake up.
