      Whitedream's Workbook

Hi, I am 17 years old an have been practicing lucid dreaming on and off for a few years. I used to have a quite a few lucids not really using and particular methods but was limited in what i could do in the dream. I have never really experienced a lucid where I am just absolutely in tune in the dream, aware, able to take it any direction i please. This is a goal of mine.
Last night i had a lucid (frist one in a while) and tried to drive a go cart through a car. I felt it crashing cause i only half believed i could do it. Then i got distracted and forgot i was dreaming. I think i probably should have gotten outa the go kart and taken the dream in a completley different direction, and done some reality checks. anyway, i am looking forward to working with you guys. Any assighnments for me? Currently i have been practicing more All day awarness but it can be difficult as my thoughts wander a lot.

      Welcome to the workshop!

If ADA is too complicated, please read this article from WILD class. It's for WILD but also for DILDs.

Try repeating to yourself every few seconds "I'm dreaming", as to not forget you are in a dream. Engage your senses - touch, taste, smell, feel. Try not to go with the dream plot. I think it's easier to stay in a dream, if you fully insert yourself by doing things. Think about things you would like to do and write them in your DJ and maybe even practice them during day. Like talking out loud - if you want to hear your voice in the dream.

When trying to do something you know it's impossible, just think about DV, how everybody says, that's how you do it. Don't think about how or why, just do it.

If you would like to add RCs and mantras to your DILD practice, here is an article.

Looking forward to helping you to your new set of lucids. Happy dreams

hi i read the WILD Thing and i try and stop at least a few times a day and say a few sentences that help me questioin reality. I have had vivid recall but in my dreams i usually am either sorta involved in the dream or viewing it in 3rd person sorta like watching a movie. I try and do mantras before bed but my mind usually wanders

I may take a little while for you to get into a habit of doing all the practice.

When your mind wanders away, no problem, just get back to your mantra whenever you realize it.

hi i have recently had lucid dream when i come home very ttired and take a nap after school . i realize im dreaming halfway through the dream cause somthing weird will happen and i know it must be a dream. then i get really excited and reality check by looking at my hands which have another finger. i proceed to dream but usually wake up afterword. is there a way to prolong the dream?

First thing you should do, is not to get too excited in a dream. It's easier said than done. After you have a few more lucids, you hopefully won't get so excided. That's what wakes up most people.

You can keep repeating yourself while in lucid 'I'm dreaming' to remind you that you are in a dream. Also, try to stabilize. Engage your senses. Keep walking and stomp your feet, clap your hands and feel how it feels, listen to the sound, feel the ground or nearby walls, trees, grass, your own body, if there is nothing else nearby. Smell the air, look at the details. make yourself part of the dream, not just an observer.

Sometimes this may not work, as it could be the end of your REM stage and end of your dream. But most of the time this works. And I can't stress enough the importance of daytime awareness. It's the key to lucid dreaming. Good luck

ok, so i seem to have most of my lucids when i nap. I really want to experience a full lucid dream during a 8 hour sleep cycle. there are so many things i want to do!! what is the best technique for me. I want to develop a regular practice of some technique that will produce lots of lucid dreams. what is the best technique for me.

Best chance I would say is DILD. Keep up with your practice, get really in habit of doing it. Don't forget to put genuine emotions into awareness and RCs.

Other than DILD, there is also DEILD. No need to practice for that. Maybe just a mantra as you falling asleep "When I wake up, I stay still". Learn to recognize these little micro-awakenings we all have just after the REM is over. When you wake up from a dream, stay still and you have an excellent chance of entering another one lucid.

      DEILD (dutchraptor)

The reason why you LD so much doing naps is because you have natural REM cycles during the late afternoon (3:00 PM - 5:00 PM) as well as late at night. Like Gab, I suggest DEILD, because it requires little to no preparation. However, the more complicated induction techniques are more reliable, because DEILD occurs naturally almost at random. The disadvantage to more complicated techniques like WILD and MILD is that they take a hell of a lot more practice and frustration then DEILD. My advice is to look at each technique that interests you, look at which suits you the best (Amount of commitment, how it relates to your schedule, etc.) and then choose one. This isn't to say that you should commit yourself to one, if you want you can do that, but experiment with each and see which ones are keepers. I don't know a quarter of as much as Gab and Hukif/the dream quides that aren't involved with this course, but the people that can help you the most (Besides yourself) are them.

In any case, good luck and pick whatever suits you best .
