      SystematicAlec' workbook

Hi, im 18 years old and my goal is to lucid dream so I can achieve mind and body peak performance at sports and also have fun once in a while. So far I've had about 15 lucids but I never DJ'd and forgot some(I keep a DJ now and I have a full notebook and another with a few pages) I know my dream signs and attempt WBTB everyday but its been 2~3 weeks since my last lucid I know how to meditate very well and often visualize myself on different scenarios doing a RC. I also have an app called lucidity for my iphone that chimes every 15 or 30 mins. to remind you to RC. its been 4 days, no result but i'm still full of hope. I have vivid dreams every night and have about 3 memorable dreams upon wakening on average.

my problem is assuming facts while dreaming(last night I was smoking two cigars at the same time and I remember thinking that it was normal because I had seen it before) *I do not smoke* I am not willing to post my dreams online but I can specify on vividness, dream signs & thoughts at the moment of the dream as well as some scenarios if needed.

Any help will be accepted with an open mind
Humans long for happiness but they seek it in wrong ways; like money or control.

This was told to me by a DG while meditating.

Hi Alec, welcome to the DILD class.

I apologise for my late reply.

Yes, we all asume in dreams that it's normal, even if we have crazy dream.

What helps to reach lucidity is awareness and RCs. Here is an article Collection of techniques for DILD .

That technique - asking yourself if you dreaming and believing that you are helped me get my first lucid and I believe it's really powerful technique. Please check it out and ask if I can clarify anything.

You can also start doing RC at different times, as described here:

You don't have to limit yourself when and how and why you do RC. Best is to use all possible reasons to better your chance that some of them will work.

      1. Use an activity reminder - something you do often
      - walking through doors
      - using restroom
      - noticing specific color
      - get a phone call
      - get a drink
      - and anything else you can think of

      2. Use a physical reminder - audio or visual
      - set your watch to beep every hour
      - set your timer
      - put some sticky notes all over your place, school books, laptop, door frame, wall above you bed, first thing you see in the morning
      - put a rubber band or bracelet on your wrist
      - and whatever else you can

All these are just to help you get into habit of RCing. Pretty soon you will find, that you will start RCing even without them. And that's the best way to do it. Spontaneously. Whenever the feeling "OMG, what if this is a dream" strikes you.

      3. Dream signs - anything, that occurs often in your dreams AND in your waking life.
You RC on these in WL every time you see it. Then, when they show up in your dream, you are likely to RC there as well.

      4. When you notice something strange. It can be strange for real or you just pretend it is. Let's face it, our lives are not that strange, so we have to make up some stuff.
      - a classmate shows up when you know he is at home sick
      - you thought you still had some beer in your fridge but it's all gone
      - it's lunch time, you should be hungry, but you not
      - boy/girl that has been ignoring you is suddenly talking to you
      - you see or hear anything and you think to yourself "that's strange"

      5. At random
-every time you get the sinking/exciting/freeky/exhilarating feeling n your stomach, that what if this was a dream and you didn't notice

Just remember, RC by itself doesn't get you lucid, it only confirms.

Awareness does. The awareness question "what if this is a dream". And being aware of your surroundings, noticing details, changes, patterns, constantly questioning and knowing where you are, how you got there and what you were doing before. Walking through your life as if you were in some video game, where anything can jump out at you at any moment and if you don't notice where you walk, you will miss some cool pickups. Be alert!
      happy dreams

You don't have to "want". But you can get excited and set your intent. To "know".

You can be happy when you have a dream, when you have good recall, when you read a good LD idea and you come up with your own. When you see a nice picture of something and you tell yourself - "yeah, that's my next LD".

Appreciate those things. Say thank you to your mind, higher self, to the creator, universe, or whom ever you believe is helping you with this.

Can you recall any happy moment from your life, when you felt this happiness in your stomach? Think of it and feel that when you thinking about LDing, when you ask yourself "am I dreaming" and doing your RCs.

To know that you will have LD is same as when you know that in the morning you going to school or work. It will happen for sure. You don't wish to go, you know you go.

I know you decided not to have a DJ, but really, that's the best way to let your mind know that you want dream and you like them. The more you think about them (and when you write them, you think about them), more will your mind understand what you up to.

Other than that, daytime awareness (or my short awareness question) when you believe you are dreaming with that startling realization - that what will start to happen in regular dreams. You'll just suddenly go "wait a minute" and you either question what's gooing on, or just realize out of the blue.

      Hope this helps
