      Thumbs up Classicrambles workbook

Hi I'm 20 I've been giving LD a go for around 2 weeks now.

I Keep a DJ for most nights apart from those when I stay at my girlfriends
I RC regularly (fingers through palm, count fingers etc) but probably getting less stringent in doing them
I usually have a decent herbal tea before bed

I have lately not used 1 particular method but just mixed in all things that I thought would suit me e.g. listening to binural beats while in bed, mantra, RC's and a DJ

There has been only a handful of occasions where I have had lucid dreams (which were without any real control over the dream) and have not yet been able to have a dream where I am 'truly' lucid.

I would love to attain real lucidity and any help would be great!

      Welcome classicrambles!

DJ is important for your recall and also to let your mind know, that your dreams are important to you. So keep up with the DJ. You can have different degrees of control, or even none. It will get better with more experience and I believe also with more awareness.

Mantras and RCs are part of DILD method. You can get pretty consistent lucids from practicing these. If you would like more awareness in a dream, to be "more lucid", I suggest you add some daytime awareness training.

      Collection of methods for DILD
      Sporadic awareness
Sageouse's awareness - this is part of a WILD class article. It also works great for DILDs. All articles are really good, if you interesting in WILDs also.
DEILD - DEILD is a shortened version of WILD. It's good to be prepared for this, in case you wake up from a dream and remember not to move, you could easily enter LD.

So read up, let me know what you think. If you pick DILD and you have more questions, please post them here. Also post your progress.

If you interested in WILD, you can also join WILD class, although it's recommended to start with DILD. Good luck and Happy dreams

Thanks gab, I think reading over some of the methods and having Lucid dreaming in the forefront of my mind throughout the day will help.

When I first posted last night I didn't include anything from my DJ:

My dream signs have been fairly irregular as far as I can tell When I first started jotting them down they were: Being on a train/at a train station, seeing a famous footballer and being in either a big mansion or my old family house Then I had a lot about Being kicked out of clubs where I used to be a member sailing/golf The most regular dream signs have been Being with friends I used to hang round with in school but hardly see any more, in a different country usually Spain

My dream last night (from what I remembered) was of myself being In a huge barn with politicians having a meal. Someone tells me I need to kill them all while they're in one place (like Inglorious Basterds if you've seen it..) I end up stabbing one of them and throwing a Spanish dictionary at another.. Weird hey?

Dream Journal: In my old school and I am in a maths class where there is a new teacher taking the class. I can't understand what he is trying to teach us and end up crying and hiding in a corner, the teacher comes over takes me into another room and talks me through the work and helps me understand it. Soon a boy I used to go to school with comes in and starts giving me shit for being bad at maths, I warn him not to carry on or I'll batter him, he carries on so I end up beating him up and dragging him back to the classroom where everyone else is and shoving him in his chair. The teacher is very understanding of why I did it and calms me down. The last image I have of the dream was the fight being front page news in the school paper.

After that I wasn't able to recall any dreams until last night, when I'm not sure if I had a sort of OBE. I went to bed late around 12pm and thought I'd give the binural beats another shot. Whilst I was laying down listening I eventually was so relaxed I felt my body was heavy and I couldn't move it as usual like I've read how it happens in paralysis. I kept eyes closed and told myself over and over I was in a dream, I eventually went to sleep and woke up a couple times in the night unsure whether I was dreaming so RC'd but, sadly it was reality!

I've been so busy lately and always on the go my RC'ing is getting inconsistent, I need to get on top of it.

      Re: Dream signs

It's ok if you recognized some of your dream signs and if you RC in waking life on them. But it's even better to RC at totally random times. So in case, you don't see any of the dream signs in a dream, you don't lose a chance to become lucid because of that.

If you RC at random times, hopefully you will start to RC at random times in your dreams also.

      Re: SP
If you don't usually have SP when you go to sleep normally, you are quite unlikely to experience SP when WILDing. The heaviness, floatiness, vibrations or any other sensations are just normal falling asleep sensations.

SP is when you couldn't move if your life depended on it and it's normally accompanied with being very scared. But don't worry, you are most likely not gonna experience SP at all.

But yes, for your DILD quest, you should keep up with your RCs, dream journal, daytime awareness and mantras. Happy dreams

Wow, not been on this in a long time! Unfortunately my efforts to have lucid dreams were stunted with a lot of university work etc and my mind just not being on it. However I've recently started having semi-lucid dreams and it's brought me back so hopefully I can give it a better go this time.

Dream Journal: Last night I dreamt I was on a sinking cruise ship (I've had similar dreams before where I'm on a sinking ship) I managed to escape with loads of other people. After escaping we were all in an underground train station (another familiar dream environment), everyone was sat round with loads of luggage. When the train arrived everyone rushed to pack on the train with all their bags and stuff, I managed to squeeze in standing on someones luggage. The train was so packed people were clinging on by their finger tips and as we began to leave the station a couple people fell off. I jumped off to save them, next thing I know I'm on a small motorboat with two guys who were scavenging from the ship's wreckage. I picked up an old skateboard and suddenly I was skating down the road on which I lived as a kid (Weird that these are very similar to the dreams I had when I first posted!). I was skating really fast but not exerting myself and really enjoying doing it because it reminded me of when I used to skate when I was 13-14 and I had very little to worry about and the whole motion of kicking and pushing made me feel really good. The skateboard was only a cheap one though and as I looked down I had put my foot through it. The skateboard was now skateboard shaped wooden box with a smaller plastic mini board inside.

      Will post again tomorrow!

Dream Journal: Me and a friend were running for a Train and there was some guy I used to go to school with us. The station was really futuristic and there was guards on the door, those two got through and on to the train but I couldn't get past the guard and was left behind. I ran all over to try and get the next train which I did and it was full of old people and I was talking to them, asking where they're from etc. When we arrived there was a huge storm blowing everything in a whirlwind. The dream faded off then and I was in my nan's house with another friend and him telling me my haircut was shit.

      Dream Journal:

      3 Dreams I can recall:
Doing a coaching course and Harry Redknapp and David Moyes are on it. It's right at the end of the course and I'm trying to work my way in with Redknapp for him to give me a job at QPR but he leaves early and I'm left in a room while Moyes gets his result back, he failed and I ring Redknapp and tell him Moyes failed and he's really shocked as I am.

Playing golf in one of the maps of Halo and my ball goes into a cave and bounces into a pile of what looks like talcum powder I poke it with my finger and the powder turns into hundreds of spiders which are running everywhere. I manage to get my ball before they run all over me but next thing I know the ball has landed in a pot, I look in and theres loads of the same powder turning into spiders.

I was in a lodge with my mum who left for a bit and I went out to see where she was I bump into my dad and uncle who are there to kidnap me and without forcing me I go with them and end up playing nintendo in the attic of the lodge.

Last few nights I've had trouble recalling any dreams and have had trouble sleeping but last night I dreamed that I was getting told off by my boss and that I let him down (something to do with what I did in waking life).

Dream Journal: (In waking life I had been offered a job in a school the same night as the dream took place) I had taken the job offer and found myself in the school teaching kids yoga and there was a girl there I fell in love with and carried her on my shoulder into a room where it turned into a castle and a long corridor led to a cave in a mountain where we made sweet sweet love
