      Robin´s workbook

I´m Robin and this is my workbook containing my growth in the skill of LD.

      Introduction
So as said I´m Robin, 23 years old and living in Sweden. Obviously I want to use LD for pure enjoyment but most importanly I'm going to use it to search my mind and grow as a person. Im intrested in learning how deep you can go. But this is all for later. For now all my focus is on learning the skill and then enjoy myself with a lot of sex and flights.

      Experience
I found out about LD back in 2011 by coincidence and I just felt the calling. I was so excited about it and immedialety started with some induction techniques and got some LDs. Though i realized this is not something you learn without great effort so eventually I gave up. Under the years I had some periods were I took up my training but never found the discipline needed to stay with it. So far I´ve experienced 19 LDs. So resently, about 4 weeks ago my interest once again came to life. I didn´t have any LDs yet since starting but I trust it´s just around the corner. This time I´m really committed to learning this skill.

      Scheduling
So this is what my daily routine consist of:
(DJ) I take notes every morning and journal my dreams at night before bedtime to get my brain in zone. I try to be so detailed as possible when journaling.
(RC) Every 30 minutes I do RCs to constantly keep my mind on the fact that it´s soon time to do a check. This makes me always be alert and aware on my training. Every RC is followed by a mantra ''Next time I´m dreaming I will recognize that I´m dreaming''.
(Meditation/Visualization) Also every day i meditate 30+ minutes. At first I calm my mind by counting my breath. When my mind is calm and empty of thoughts I only focus on my breath without the counting. And then I start visualize myself in dreams that I dreamt the night before and now seeing myself becoming lucid and taking part in activities in the ''dreamworld''. I repeat the visualization 3 times with different dreams if managed to recall 3 dreams the night before, if not I´m just using the same dream. Also here I use my mantra.
(Intentions before sleep) Every night I´m resolving to remember my dreams and that I will recognize that I'm dreaming. Once again here I use my mantra.

So this is about it. I´m more than happy to get all the help needed so if you got any tips please share them!

Hello Robin, and welcome to the DILD class!

It looks like you have a really good foundation in LD practice. You've had LDs, so you know you can do it already, and it's just a matter of getting back in to the swing of things. I think you probably know, but in this discipline you get the best results with steady effort. As motivation I like to ask myself: where do I want to be in 1, 2, 5, or 10 years from now in terms of my dreaming abilities? That time will pass anyway. My answer is: I want to have the benefit of having diligently worked and improved during all that time. My recommendation is: stick with it!

I like your day work, particularly the regular meditation. You're doing a good number of RCs, and setting intention with each one is a good thing. Since you're already doing breath awareness meditation, you may want to try to "up" your day work a bit by trying to maintain breath awareness beyond your meditation sessions, using this an an anchor to maintain mindfulness. Maybe along with your RCs, you could try to hold on to breath awareness for a while afterwards, seeing if you can extend this over time to longer and longer periods of mindfulness. With this mindfulness be aware that you're trying to ascertain your state: awake or dreaming. Look for oddities, and if you have dream signs that occur in the waking state, keep an active eye out for them, too.

A good mindset to cultivate is to realize that any conscious moment could be in the dream state. Once you have enough vivid non-lucid dreams, and this will really become apparent (if it's not already) to you.

It's good that you have a dream journal. How would you say your recall is right now? About how many dreams/scenes per night, how vivid, do you feel present in the dreams?

Do you practice WBTB at all, or notice any wakings during the night other than your final morning waking? One way to really get dream-recall going again is to additionally set intention to notice wakings during the night and recall, taking quick notes (I like to use a voice recorder app on my phone), and heading right back to sleep (or perhaps make the waking into a WBTB if it's the appropriate time).

Have you ever tried WILD variants, and/or tried to DEILD at all? If you haven't I can recommend that in addition to your DILD work you may want to start trying WILDs once in a while. Sageous has a great WILD class here in the DV academy with a lot of great information on WILD and LDing in general.

Feel free to use your workbook to track your progress, and let us know any time if you have any questions!

Best of luck! In the last few weeks, going to bed earlier (on time, really, close to my target time that I rarely achieve) has resulted in significantly better recall each time for me. Last year I dedicated a full month to regular bedtime and wake times, (I mostly stuck to it), and about 1.5-2 weeks into it I got a great run of LDs and vivid dreams. This is one of the simplest yet hardest somehow thing for me (and many) to do, yet it has a profound impact of the quality of the night's dreams (and the quality of your rest).

Thats awesome advice!! For sure I will put that breath awarness into my daily routine.

My dreamrecall is big ups and downs. For instanst now I have 2 nights in a row without any memory of dreams. This is rare though and a big part of it is the little sleep I gained those nights. Some nights I remember dreams with avarage quality and other nights I have crazy vivid dreams which can take 30 minutes to journal. In those dreams I can feel present and things feels so real. As you mention sleep is a big factor and those dreams came when I had slept 8-9 hours.

No WBTB yet since starting my training again. I did this before back in 2011 and had maybe around 5 LD with this method. About night awakenings, thats something wich also vary a lot depending on my sleep. If getting my sleep needed I remember around 2-3 awakenings other then in the morning.

I tryed WILD befora also in 2011 but never got it down. DEILD I managed to do 1 time by rolling out of my body. Unfortunately I was immediately pulled back into my body and woke up. Alright I will also incorporate WILD into my training.

      Thansk!

Bad memory. Im not getting the sleep needed but 0 dreams two nights in a row is not fun. Im aiming hard to turn this around tonight.

Hej, I just wanted to wish you a belated welcome as well! I share your interest in lucid sex and I have had many wonderful experiences in that regard as well as other awesome adventures and explorations. I am a big believer in WBTB but only when you can sleep in really. Keep up the great base of fundamental practices that you have going and let us know if you have any questions.

Recall is variable for everybody. My average recall is pretty good and getting better, but I still have bad nights, and I find my recall fluctuates along a fairly regular sine-curve: it increases, peaks, decreases, hits a low, then starts increasing again, over and over and over again.

As fogelbise advised, diligently maintain the fundamentals. Grow daytime awareness, pay attention to your present moments during the day, and work on building dream recall at night, and over time with patience, vividness and presence will become more and more a standard part of your typical dream. Do as much night work as you can manage while still maintaining good sleep.

I managed to have sex and fly in my first LD, how about that haha. Ye WBTB is great for inducing LDs but it messes up the sleep partern though. For now atleast I´m trying to do this without WBTB. For sure I will. Thank you.

      Thats easing to hear! Hehe

I really like your idea about breathworking. I did it during this day. Kinda hard to keep it though but ofc this is something that will ease with time. Anyway I like it alot and its 100% going to be in my daily rutine.

Meditation didn´t go that well today. Did a lot of breathworks with my RCs and also other times during the day. I had 2 minor dreams.

      (Yesterday)

      LDs: 0
      Sleep: 8 hours
      Night awakenings: 2
      Dreams: 3 (3/5) (4/5) (4/5)
      Meditation/Visualization: 30 minutes

Great dreams that night. 4/5 in rate is veary good vivid dreams. To be a 5/5 it has to be a dream wich really get stucked in my mind afterwards. It´s often something about the enviroment that can be special in my dreams.
