For those having trouble doing things in dreams- a suggestion

Although i have not had any lucid dreams i still have an idea how it works and i have seen so many posts about people asking how to do certain things in dreams. I have a suggestion that can apply to anything in dreams. You just need to think outside of the box.

I know that in some dreams you have more or less control than others but, for example flying, when you try to fly and it doesn't work you'd probably think "oh no it is not working, let me try again." That first part is kind of the problem, as soon as you think it isn't working it is going to stop working. In dreams you are in control and you basically just directed your dream to restrict your flying powers. Usually you can tell yourself that it does work, but some people can't do this. After all, witnessing your flying powers failing can be a little discouraging and by your second attempt you are more worrying that it wont work or hoping it would work this time. Neither of those are confident enough to change the rules of your dream.

Now instead of failing and posting online asking how to do it, why not just try something else? Think different. If the first method doesn't work, you'd typically go into the next method thinking "The first way didn't work so i'll do this to make it work." That way you are telling your dream that this way works and off you fly.
It's pretty simple and everyone does it. For example, when i have my lucid dream i want to fly so how am i going to do it? There is an infinite number of ways to fly.
Some are small and discrete like different hand motions or poses but if they don't work then why don't you just reach into your pocket and take that pill that gives you super powers? Or pick up the syringe on the floor with the safe power giving formula in it? Or press the on button on the jet pack on your back? How about taking off the glasses with a picture of the scene on it and realize you are floating in the air? And your shoes are glued to the floor, take them off. Maybe you are wearing a necklace that restricts your powers, rip it off. Or put on the amulet of flight? Hold the stone of soaring?
I can do this all day. My point is you can bs any excuse to take to the sky. I can apply this to anything in dreams. If you ever can't do something in a dream try thinking outside of the box.

Some suggestions for if you are going to try something in a dream. Have a set of methods ready and imagine they work.

Nice suggestions! I myself have been planning to use some of these things when I get lucid and if I seem to have trouble doing something - maybe putting on a cape so I can fly? Wear glasses that make me shoot lasers? Snapping my fingers so I cause earthquakes?
      Lucid dreaming goals:

Fly( ) Tame a recurring wolf that has been in about 10 different dreams/nightmares ( ) Fly on a Night Fury from HTTYD ( ) Ask my subconscious why I have so many nightmares ( )
Fight agent Smith ( ) Ride a huge spider to a battle against a beenest ( ) Face all of my nightmare creatures and beat them ( ) Be a god ( )

That was actually pretty helpful, thanks. Good luck with your lucid attempts btw.
