Trouble Remembering Things I Want to do in Lucid Dreams

I've been trying to accomplish dream goals every time I become lucid but I always forget what I wanted to do when I become lucid and just sort of go on with my dream and do typical fantastical lucid dreaming stuff. I really want to ask my dream consciousness about how to deal with some anxiety issues I'm having.

Anyone got any tips for remembering dream goals?

When you first become lucid, try not to do anything. Sit and relax, and focus. Try to make the dream clearer, and tell yourself not to do anything except what you came there to do.

Easier said than done, but baby steps.

ExoByte is exactly right! Baby steps. Even now, I'll forget to try and accomplish a goal or a task and end up exploring or playing around with the dream plot. And I have had 100+ LDs. Alot of times you forget things you want to do. Just keep practicing and trying and eventually you will get it. Good Luck to you!

Try perhaps a mantra. Something basic, like, "I will do (insert goal here) in my next lucid dream." It couldn't hurt.

1)Write down the three to five main goals that you have on a sheet of paper, or as a memo on your phone, or on an index card (I find that the index card is best).

2)Just be sure to put them somewhere where you will see them OFTEN. Keep it with you if you aren't at home all of the time. Carry the card in your pocket.

3)Take it out every hour, and read through it a few times.

4)Do a reality check before you read it, and afterwards. Not only will this keep your goals in your mind throughout the day, but it will also help you to associate these goals with reality checks and being consious of your state (are you awake or asleep).

      5) Read through your goals several times before you go to bed, and oncentrate on each one for about thirty seconds to a minute each time. If your goal is to walk on water, picture yourself doing this.

6)Picture detail, such as the sunlight sparkling off of the water, or the gulls in the air, or the shore in the distance, etc.

      7) Then, as you go to sleep, repeat your mantra.

If you do WBTB or WILD, you should do steps 5-7 when you are planning to go back to sleep as well.
      ...And then to dream...

once i wrote a girls phone number on my hand and when i went to bed that night it was still there in my dreams even though i didn't remember what the numbers where from. i don't know if it will help but try writing it on the bak of your hand or on your wrist before you go to bed and it might still be there in your dreams.

Instead of asking your dream consciousness how to deal with anxiety, how about having a dream where you do the thing you are anxious about.

For example, if it's social anxiety, like talking to a hot girl, try to have a lucid dream where you talk to hot girls and make them laugh, and it's no big deal.

The best way to do this is visualize during waking life also.

There are many other great suggestions that others have posted also.

Write your intention out before you go to bed. Then read it when you get in bed a few times, this should help.
