      how to stop freaky SP

I've discovered that for myself, the best way to stop my Sleep Paralysis from becoming freaky is to keep my eyes closed, (mostly because most of my SP episodes come during WILD).

Everytime I open my eyes, something really screwed up happens.

This morning for example, I led myself comfortable into sleep paralysis and you know I was actually enjoying it for a while because I discovered that I could consciously control my auditory hallucinations so I was essentially making some sweet music with my thoughts (TRY IT, ITS REALLY COOL), but then I opened my eyes to see if I could see anything, and immediately, two giant black three fingered claws rose from my bed and started pulling me by my waist into my bed.

      Screw that.

      Any thoughts?

Whoa that's really strange, I've never actually tried opening my eyes while in SP. Controlling the auditory hallucinations sounds pretty cool though, I'll have to try that sometime.

It's pretty much the same idea as imagining a song in your head. You can imagine a melody, but you don't really hear, you sort of hear it with your mind's ears. Except when you do it in sleep paralysis, it's like you actually hear it.

Well that is not the best way to stop SP from being freaky...You see there is a thing about SP that a lot of people don't pay attention to.And that are the good sides of SP.If you rely on the good sides you can use SP as a advantage and prepare yourself for the upcoming dream. There are methods and techniques that you can use for even creating you own dream location while being in SP.By doing these tech you are busy and you don't pay attention to any freaky things that can happen.During SP when you try to imagine that instead of lying in your bed you are lying on the top of some mountain. You will end up really felling like you are on the top of a mountain and when you open your eyes you will see the exact same picture that you imagined the whole time ,plus you will start your dream from that place(after SP is over).Being busy with trying to imagine that, you are actually not bothered by the freaky things and you are starting your dream from the location that you picked.

I'm talking more so the early stages of Sleep Paralysis, before dream imagery is being formed, I have trouble materializing all of that too, but I know what you mean. I don't think about the freaky stuff, I usually try imagine some nice scene. All I'm saying is that practically speaking, 9 times out of 10 when I open my eyes during sleep paralysis, i see something unpleasant.

      First, dont open your eyes!

My best advice is to breathe and relax through it, and affirm that it can in no way hurt you, then enjoy the experience that follows!

If you really want to break SP, then dont try and force yourself to move. You cant move, and it will only feedback into more fear. The one thing you can control during SP is your BREATHING. Completely alter your breathing pattern to say very deep breaths. This breaks SP quickly.

Once i watched this TV show and it said that aliens sat on people in the middle of the night and they couldn't move. I know that it was some crap so I looked into it. Just dont open your eyes and breathe like you would if you were awake and you'll be fine.

Oh god, yes. SP can be terrifying. The last time I tried to WILD, the auditory hallucinations got extremely loud and intense. I heard car crashes, screaming, sounds of a skull cracking, blood gushing, roaring, you name it.

Another time when I was WILDing I literally heard someone/something open my door, close it behind them, walk over to my bed, then get into the bed with me. After that, the thing was literally laying right next to me and breathing into my ear.

It is because of this that I fail WILD so often and have never had a lucid dream.

I've never experienced any open eye hallucinations like that however. Usually when I open my eyes all the hallucinations stop and I'm extremely relieved, but also pissed because I failed my WILD!

It's something that can happen and it has happened to me and its really hard to breathe, not aliens, more like a hallucanation during SP. I tried a technique id seen before where you laugh at whatever it is and make jokes about it in your head and you snap out of SP

I've never been really freaked out from SP. I always keep my eyes closed so i don't see what will scare me. The auditory hallucinations are normally just whispers or the sound of traffic so wilding is never that hard for me.
