The night of constant Sleep paralysis

so last night for the first time in about a year i had nightmares, but not just one, nearly a whole night of them. I have no idea what brought this on, i didnt watch any scary films or anything like that so i could see no cause.

so i went to bed at 12:00 which is relativity early for me, and i had my first dream which i cant quite remember but i do remember being woken up as it was scary, and as i woke up the first sleep paralysis set in, i couldent move (then i remembered the tips on this forum said to try to turn your head) so i did, and i believe my head was actually turning but i couldent move anything else, and even though i knew it was sleep paralysis i was still terrified and the nightmare that i just had didnt help.

So later on i woke up again from a dream where there was somebody outside trying to get into my house and i was trying to lock my door with my key, but the key just kept on turning and the door wouldent lock, and i woke up, and again sleep paralysis set it, and i opened my eyes and looked infront of me (still paralysed) i started hallucenating, i saw a cat run across my floor (i have no cats) and it jumped on my bed and started to lick my face, and i could actually feel it (doesnt sound scary, but this is the first time that ive hallucenated and i was petrefied) and i started to feel other strange sensations

but strangley enough as i fell back to sleep i took the opertunity to created a dream scene and it lead into a successfull lucid dream which is cool, but after that i had another, yes, another sleep paralysis where was trying my hardest to fully wake up as i just wanted to get the hell out of bed and be safe, and after what seemed like an eternity, i got control over my body again.

usually i hardly ever get sleep paralysis maybe 1 every 4 months. why the hell did i have so many in one night? and what can i do to make it a shorter/better experience?
thanks for reading and i hope somebody can shed some light on this, becasue that was one of the scariest nights ive had in a long time, thanks.

A lot of things can affect sleep and dreaming, like foods or beverages, weird things going on with your body like aches or pains or internal issues you might not even be aware of - maybe something like blood pressure. When I experience really shocking and powerful negative dreams it often seems to accompany some kind of physical symptoms like back pain or muscle cramps. Example I have a really thin pillow and if I'm laying on my side sometimes my neck gets bent into a weird angle that seems to somewhat cut off circulation or put pressure on a nerve or something - I sometimes notice this quite abruptly as I'm beginning to drift off to sleep and wake up suddenly with my neck feeling really weird like it's grinding or something and doing something weird to my brain (which I assume means cutting off blood flow or messing with a nerve - hard to tell because by the time I notice it I'm already moving to relieve the discomfort). Or possbly in the words of Ebenezer Scrooge, it could be just "a bit of undigested beef."

its weird that you say that because i actually had been to the gym the day before that night, and the muscles that i had been working on were aching like hell, so maybe that might of contributed? thanks for replying dude

You're welcome, and that sounds extremely likely.
