Three words, Practise. |

I've gotten lucid a few times in the past few weeks, but I can't control my dream at all. Whenever I try to change something, the whole dream fades away into blank. Yesterday, I tried entering through a portal in which the dream would be how I want it to be, but as soon as I entered it, everything turned into black and the dream was gone completely. Any tips? |

From my experiences, entering a portal means you are leaving your dream, if you want to change your dream you have to meditate and imagine how you want the outcome, and yes it takes practise to get it right. Just don't got to the portal if you want to stay, at least you know how to stop a bad dream from happening. |

Portals are usually just that - a portal to another dreamscape. It may take longer practice to get it right. There are some good tutorials about dream control, where you can find about diferent wayt to change the dreamscape, like teleporting and such. And when it turns black - do you wake up? Sometimes it may take a few seconds for the new dreamscape to appeat. Happy dreams |

Confidence and Expectation are a huge part in dream control. Be confident you can do something...expect it to happen. As far as opening a portal try literally ripping the air into a portal. Then visualize the place you would like to go and step in. Just keep practicing |

You might try some dream stabilization methods. Most of them involve immersing yourself in the dream further than you normally would. Here are a couple:1 the tried and true spinning in place technique. 2 rubbing your palms together while paying close attention to the feeling that it produces. 3 identifying your surroundings by attempting to experience them through each of your senses. |
