      conversations are stressful

So I stumbled upon this site and have read around and I think I've been able to realize I'm in a dream. Pretty cool stuff.

However, usually the way I realize it is different from what others seem to write about and it's actually kind of annoying and gets stressful...

I'll be (in a dream) having a conversation with someone and it'll be going fine but after a point I realize that I'm the only deciding what it is that person is saying. Once I realize this it becomes frustrating. It's difficult to explain exactly what it is that goes through my head but it's basically something like this:

      • be conversing with someone
      • realize I have control
      • want to continue conversation
      • want the person to ask me a question
      • realize I have to basically ask myself a question
      • but I'm focused more on myself in the dream and listening to the other person
      • my attention gets shifted from listening to making words come out of other person's mouth
      • in the end words do come out of the other person but I don't think they make a coherent sentence

At that point I sort of get bored with the dream since the conversation is ruined because it's as if the person I'm talking to just became completely retarded. It's so frustrating!!

Has anyone experienced something like this before?

I have not experienced it. But why not, after you realize you dreaming, just walk away and strike another conversation with another DC, or do something else? Happy dreams

It would also seem like a good opportunity to ask yourself a question that's more introspective.

But you will probably have to find a more cooperative DC to get anything meaningful.

Well from my experiences, when a Dream character is making things harder for you than it is, it's almost best to walk away from the situation and tell them "OK i'm done" because obviously dream characters, some of them, their motives sometimes is to test you and make you stressful and have a very dull dream for you to go through.
I had a dream that i got lost, and i went to a public place and told someone who was assisting people at the moment, that i was lost and i waited for their reply after i explained how i got lost and they just look away and ignore me and i was like OK? then i left and started to walk somewhere, i don't know where i was going, and that's when my dream finished. Sometimes you have to do things yourself in dreams like these.

Welcome to the forum. If you are trying to become lucid this might be your cue however I have found that conversations with a DC (dream character) is counter-productive to a lucid dream. Of course, everyone's experiences are different so go with it!
