      Vision/Eyesight

So i finally had my first lucid dream randomly this morning. i remember that i realized i was dreaming somehow and i got real exited and told myself "im dreaming!" but when i said that the floor of the room i was in started stretching down like my dream was falling apart. and so i looked at my hands and then i was in a different room when i looked up. so i walked up to a wall that was a little bigger than the size of a double doorway and made that wall stretch into a hallway with people in it too... and then i woke up :/ but my question is that the whole time i was lucid my vision was horrible. it was like watching a standard def movie that has horrible pixellation. is that normal? or was i not lucid? and was my dream really falling apart when i got excited?

I asked a fundamentally similar question in another thread and I think part of the response I got applies to your situation as well. Hope it helps!

      1. Touch: Touch everything around you the minute you become lucid Touch the floor, the walls, buildings, grass, act. This will help "anchor" yourself in a dream.
      2. Spinning: Once a dream starts to look blurry or less vivid, spin around rapidly with your arms out for a good 10-20 seconds. You might end up in a completely different place, but the dream will re-stabilize.
      3. Look down at your hands and yell "Clarity Now!" when you look up, things should look more vivid and stable.
      4. Diving: When a dream is beginning to end, or whenever, dive into the ground. You will probably reach complete blackness, but than a completely new dream will open up. This is similar to DEILD in the sense that you can chain dreams.
      5. Rubbing Hands: If you become lucid in a blurry dream, or the dream is ending, rub your hands vigorously and the dreamscape will re-stabilize.

Also keep in mind that it just could of been a low quality lucid dream. They are usually unvidid and of low lucidity. Hope this helps!

Indeed, it may just have been a non-vivid lucid dream. But don't worry about it at all, as it will improve with practice and stabilization as the previous 2 have mentioned. Good luck, and congrats on your lucid!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

The trick is, don't get too excited lol. Also you did too much in a dream in very little time, you got to slow down.

I find that breathing is important too. When my dream loses clarity, I try to breathe slower and deeper, and at the same time rub my hands vigorously.

Rubbing my hands works very well for me too. Just last night i became lucid that was so blurry and unvivid that i couldn't even tell where i was. I just decided to rub my hand vigorously and instantly, colorless and vividness appeared in the dreamscape. It was a sensational feeling.
