Thumbs up The power of verbal commands

This morning I had a series of incredible lucid dreams (DILDs), and I actually had great dream control, much better than usual. It seems to be only for one reason: Using verbal dream commands. I didn't only expect something to happen, but I actually said those things outloud.

So my suggestion to everyone is, if you have problems summoning a dream character behind a door, don't just "think" he/she/it will be there, but instead, say it outloud. Speak to yourself, and to the dream. Tell yourself outloud that this something is already behind the door, and describe it in detail if you want.

Using these commands, I did many things this morning that I had problems doing before.

I was also able to fly Superman style, with the help of verbal commands. "I will now stretch my arms out, jump, and fly effortlessly like Superman." And voila, it worked like a charm.

But the DILDs were really amazing too. All of them were caused my the "looking at your hands" RC. I always had more than 5 fingers on one hand. I would count them, and there would be sometimes 6, 7, even 8.

I believe it's effectively autosuggestion. You're manipulating your expectations and beliefs by dictating them aloud. It's important to really believe it will work when you say whatever you say, and proceed immediately with full confidence that it has. I remember when I was a kid and had lucid dreams I used to rhyme my commands because that was the only way that I could get them to work. In retrospect I just THOUGHT that was so. Not sure where that limitation came from. Now it doesn't even need to be a full sentence, I can just feel the general idea of what I want the command to do and then say a single word. For example, I held up my hand and blocked a space of my field of view, and wanted someone to be behind it, then called out "Hello!" as though I had already seen the person and was waving at them, and when the hand came down they were there.

Is this considered active or passive control, I wonder?

Can't wait to try this out my next lucid! I seem to have the issue that despite my willing of something to happen, the plot has other things in mind and I end up just kind of going along with the dream. I will definitelty have to try this out

Well, "going along with the dream" is another problem, meaning you are losing lucidity. The remedy for this one is to tell yourself over and over again that you are in a dream.
