How to control dream characters ?

      Hey guys,

i am new to this forum.

I already had lots of lucid dreams. I started having them last year in december, when i started to just read about it and meditate, the first lucid dream was also the most vivid and most blissful lucid dream, because it was extremely vivid and emotional.

However, i can have lucid dreams, when i set my intention to have one, the next night and that usually works and i will get lucid, do stabilizing techniques, so the dream becomes vivid, but then, the control is somehow not really there, i usually want to have "romantic" experiences with dream characters around me, and if i ask good looking characters they usually always deny and if i try to get to them, there is like a magnetic field always, that if i try to get to them it does not work, it is like a kind of barrier. It has been like this almost all the time when i try to LD. The funny thing is that, the more unattractive ones are more allowing.

I also can not do the teleporting techniques or teleport to certain places when i close my eyes and do some of the technique they do not work.

But the more important part is that i want to gain control over my dream characters, for me it seems more like i am experiencing my belief system through that dream, because it somehow reflects in the physical world, that very attractive people are not interested to me and i am usually a magnet for people that i am not attracted to.

Since i experienced that in lucid dreams so often, that my control is very limited, i decided to browse 2 hours on google yesterday, on how to gain control, and decided to try something different, when i become lucid and be more polite to the characters, but they seem to be just doing their stuff, a pretty convicing illusion.

So after having another lucid dream today with the same problems, i decided to start this thread.

Would be great, if you can share your approach here.

      Thank you.

I think you answered your own question here in a way. Much of what happens is reflective of your belief. If you believe they're going to reject you, regardless of what you want to happen, then there's a good chance they will.

Instead of focusing on Dream Characters, spend time in your dream re-affirming the fact that you can control everything. You have to get your mind into a state where you believe you have full control over the dream and the characters in it. It's not always required, but it definitely helps. It will help because you will believe they will accept you and not reject you since they're under your control.

Controlling Dream Characters is one of the harder things to do for people since they often seem to have a mind of their own, but you just have to remember that ultimately, they're just another part of the dream. Just like a table, or a chair. If you tried to levitate a table or chair, it wouldn't resist right? The same is true with Dream Characters. Just treat them like objects. I know that sounds terrible lol, but it's the best way to ensure that you can manipulate and control the characters.

What you do after gaining that control is entirely up to you, and I shouldn't be held responsible for any actions that may or may not occur as a result of this advice

Thanks for your reply, this is very very helpful

In fact i was already thinking about affirming that it is my dream and i have full control.
I already wanted to do this, but it somehow does not get into my mind, when i become lucid, it is hard to grasp some memory of the physical world.

I will add this to my plan of action once i become lucid, i think this is going to work

I say you just need to be confident about yourself IRL. I am very confident (almost too confident) and I can't keep DCs off me, and I don't even want a romantic experience with them. When I see them they just start running at me. It is weird.

Haha man, that sounds great. Confidence is a subconscious thing as far as i know. I am not really confident, but maybe LDs can be used to reprogram the subconscious. Well i am going to experiment with that.

During the day try to picture yourself becoming lucid and asking someone Replay the scene as much as possible in your mind so that when you finally get into a dream it will become second nature to you

I read somewhere on this forum that if you want a dream character to do something or give you something, you can approach them and talk to them as if they already know you and have already agreed to do the thing for you.
I've had some success with this at least once or twice.

That's an interesting idea! I'll try that out tonight so that they give me a portal gun, because I suck at conjuring stuff and teleportation.

As others stated, it just takes confidence. In my LD last night, I talked with a few DCs about how they know me, and they were all willing to at least talk.
I had a second LD and in it I tried talking with a girl from across the street. She did not do everything I asked, but she was at least willing and kind. I feel that if I was there longer, she would have agreed.
I have become quite interested on the layers of lucidity, and I use them to measure how lucid a dream is. For more information on these layers, click here.

Why do you need one handed to you? You already have one strapped to your leg. If you can't find it there then you probably strapped it to your back.

conjuring 101 remember putting it there. Visualize yourself putting it there in the past. This is what I do.

Ill PM you my favorite dream control tutorials.

Most of what I use is from there. That is how I drank a red bull and flew. Read through all the tutorials and the chat threads. I think there is a ton of good stuff in there.
