If you're good at catching when you're about to wake up you could try DEILD. The trick is not to move, or at least as little as possible (this includes opening your eyes). If you can't catch yourself soon enough then a MILD should help improve your chances as well. I often pair it with a WBTB which you almost do naturally. It works fairly well and is better than just winging it hoping to get lucid.

Try repeating a phrase or word in the back of your mind AND falling back to sleep. I use 'thank you' or sometimes 'thank you for this dream.'

Do not focus on it enough that you will not sleep, just casually repeat the phrase, get comfy and fall asleep. The idea is that a small bit of awareness may be kept for a few minutes after you fall asleep. If you enter a dream during that window, you can become lucid.

For some odd reason I really thank you for this bit of advice because I feel like it will be the key to my success in WILDs.

I have no problem with falling asleep but maintaining awareness is my biggest issue upon lucidity.
