Too many people...

Does anyone have any idea on how I can get rid of meaningless crowds in my lucid dreams? There are only two or three very specific people that I want to interact with/dream about, and they are usually there, but there are always lots of other people around as well which makes it difficult to just concentrate on the people I'm interested in. I've tried telling people in the crowd that should go away, or complaining out loud that there are too many people, but it doesn't seem to work. I think I might try just asking some of them nicely to leave , or maybe even stand on a chair and saying "if you're not supposed to be here, could you please leave?" but any suggestions would be great. Raise your right hand up, look at it against the sky for around two or three seconds, then look back and everyone will be gone. Or you could try leaving and knowing that the next place you go to will be absolutely empty.
