      Cool Flying in Dreams Technique

Hey everyone just thought I'd share my own personal technique that I use to fly around in my dreams.

Lucid dreaming has taught me a lot about how the mind works and how the subconscious affects us in waking life. When I first started having lucid dreams I found the most difficult thing to do was to fly around in my dreams. It seemed like the more lucid and aware I was the harder it was to lift off the ground. I would tell myself over and over that it's just a dream and anything is possible but the best I could do was levitate off the ground a few feet before coming back down to the ground.

Even though I knew that I was in a dream my subconscious would still not allow me to fly around because it did not believe that it was possible. In order to overcome this I learned how to trick my mind.

Basically instead of just jumping up and down trying to lift off the ground I start visualizing that I am wearing a jet pack on my back. As soon as I do this I am able to lift off the ground and fly anywhere I want with no restrictions of speed or height.

All this technique does is give our subconscious a reason to believe that it is actually possible to fly. I find that this really works with anything that we want to accomplish in the dream world. If you are having trouble doing something then just visualize that you have a tool that makes it possible to accomplish it and your subconscious will accept it and do the rest.

So next time you're having a lucid dream and want to fly give it a try and let me know what you think.

Yup, jetpacks, magic pills in pulled from your pocket, anti-gravity boots, superman cape, wings, they all work, if you know that they work. Happy dreams

Very interesting Excellent example of what happened to me in my dream last night.
I flew around and saw a girl I used to go to school with. I picked her up and was gonna fly away with her, but then I thought.

"How am I supposed to fly away with her? It's double the weight, I hope I'll still be able to fly"

And I tried but, I only got like 1 feet up and flew very slowly.

I actually never tried the jetpack thingy, I'll definitely try it in my next LD

In my last LD I tried to fly by jumping and couldn't. So I'm going to try this technique.

      I hope it works!

Interesting, if I want to fly I normally jump
(I have a super high jump in my LDs )
and then I stay in the air or I move in the direction I want.
It's the most fun for me

The weird thing is that flying isn't the problem for me, I simply run up to a sprint and jump then I'm of.
Calm levitaion though that's another story. I tried it on the toilet in a dream once, just sitting there trying to gain lift but I couldn't get higher than a few inches.

I just had my third LD, not done any RC or anything for a week or so. I've just forgotten or been busy. I was falling, I managed to stop myself, so I tried an RC. I passed so I knew I was lucid. Instead of rushing it, I took a few deep breaths. When I was calm I tried to lift of, after a few seconds of nothing I woke up.

Getting there! Just need more practise!

All Dream Control comes down to two things.

      1) You realize you are in a dream so nothing bad can really happen to you or others.
      2) You must BELIEVE you are totally in control of everything. Including yourself and your environment.

You have to believe in yourself. Eventually you will be surprised how easy it gets. I guess in comes down to confidence. It is easy to have confidence in your dream if you know you can't be hurt or screw anything up. It is just a dream. Have fun in it. I use them to relax, like a mini vacation.

That is interesting, the concept of having confidence. I had never really been aware of that ..but I have always been aware of it...i.e never thought of the issue of confidence in the non dream world.but in the dream world..once I realised I was dreaming, I have totally believed I coud do whatever I wanted..and sort of have....

I've been flying my whole life; lucid from the age of two, eventually I started looking for ways to push the envelope; warping space with wormholes, shooting into deep cosmos at time bending speeds, ect.

I've developed a few techniques over the years, such as; abrupt turning: being able to suddenly stop, pivot, then zoom off in another direction. Precision; I remember at two years old I could only go in a straight line a few feet above the ground, now I have total control of the intricacies of anti-gravatic mechanics. My personal favourite is just leisurely floating around the scene, just casual like it's nobodies business.

Anyway, I'm glad you found a way to fly, but don't loose sight of all the things possible with learning it fully, it's worth it.

When I was first learning to fly in my first few lucid dreams, I would lay down on the ground, close my eyes, breathe out and feel as weightless as possible while imagining what the world below would look like when I re opened my eyes. I would feel like I was starting to float abd would be high up in the air when I opened my eyes. Once I saw that I was capable of flying I could just glide around everywhere. I didn't use this for flying, but if you can find your dream guide or really any DC, ask them if they cab help you. I once got a wand from a DC that I use whenever I summon anything.
